30° this morning, so it feels like December. I love the chill air when the wind is still.
I have Bible study prayer call today. I finally got the Kingdom Authority book by Tony Evans on Audible today for my birthday. It was not out yet when I bought the Bible study guide. So nice to see it available today!
If that tree were indoors, perhaps a cat could knock it over. But I think there are ice crystals on the needles, so it must be outdoors, firmly planted in the ground. It would take a very strong cat to knock it over.
41 here and supposed to warm up to 61
I have two packages to mail so hope to get that done
Rather chilly as I turn the heat off at night.
I don’t seem to be vacuuming so told my daughter that I would like one of those vacuum for Christmas

Took Abby for a longer-than-usual walk last night, I have some good night-walking lights/gear, including an LED dog color that I used last night just looped through the top of the leash; I’ll try it out on Abby soon, but will need to cut the length to fit.
I’m regaining my confidence about night walking (which I used to do all the time with my last dogs but had a few years gap in there so it felt a bit uncomfortable at first again). We don’t go late, usually around 6-8 p.m., not any later than that. But of course it’s quite dark by then still these days. But I’m getting used to it again.
I’m repurposing an antique wood buffet cabinet I’ve had forever, looking to use it for something other than dining pieces which I don’t really need or use; so wasted space, really. …. I cleaned it off and up last night, wiped it down with wood furniture cream; it’s a nice piece but needs to be used more practically, if nontraditionally, for my purposes.
Sightings of whales right outside our harbor yesterday by one of the harbor cruise boats that went out, they sent us some remarkable photos.
The tree, more of a bush really, is outside my door at church, and the water glistening on it looked cool, so I took a couple shots with my phon. It’s near the handicap entrance. I get push the automatic button and great folks a couple times a month. It’s a good way to get to know who is who.
We are hovering just below freezing here for the last few weeks and for the next few weeks. We have very little snow and are hoping to get some more for the twins to play in.
Oh, good news Kathaleena, the first surgery down. It’s so fast and easy, right? The first few days are annoying somewhat — having to sleep with the eyepatch for 7 days (you’ll get it taken off tomorrow assuming you have the usual day-after dr’s appointment and that will feel good).

Thanks, everyone, for the kind birthday wishes. It has been a really good day to turn 70! Art and I plan to watch The Shop Around the Corner tonight. It was a gift from my friend, K. I went to lunch with my friend B at Downwind where I had my new fave, grilled barrimundi with collards and cole slaw.. She gave me a Land’s End blazer made from sweatshirt material along with a nice t-shirt, such a super gift. Another friend dropped a vase of flowers by my door this morning. I have some truly sweet and kind friends. Art gave me a pair of individually adjustable lens magnifying glasses that I probably need to return. Not quite right for my situation, but a nifty idea.
Now if only the mail would arrive before midnight. I expect one card from a friend who always sends a nice card for about 40 years of friendship..
Happy birthday Janice!

What’s behind that evergreen? A cat ready to topple a tree is my guess.

Well, the orca whale story just got dark — some tourists also got photos of the whales attacking and feeding on the dolphins. -dj

Oh, brrr, it is so cold! The direction of my thyroid test tells me why I am feeling it so much more than last year, too. :C
Cataract surgery went well. I am grateful for all the prayers and wonderful personnel who worked today to accomplish it.

Is that anything like Vorrect Firday? Some of you may remember that from the old WORLD mag blog.
