  1. This is Kim
Yesterday morning I had a missed call from ex-SIL. That didn’t bode well. When I called back she was on the phone and would call me back. Nephew called me back and gave me all the details. Then SIL called back.
Ex-husband didn’t go over until after noon because his wife got off work then. Ugh! Not that I don’t like her, but it was his MOTHER who had been life flighted! When I talked to SIL again she told me she was relieved, she didn’t need his negativity and drama. Ex-H isn’t good in a crisis and gets too emotional. She also said New Wife would keep him in check. I’ve always said she handles him better than anyone.
Later Ex-H called me to give me an update. There had been an episode but they didn’t think it was a stroke. She passed all the criteria to eliminate that. She did have a brain bleed. When she finds out what exactly happened she will be mortified. Nephew found her naked, sitting on the floor of her bedroom, having urinated on herself. Thank You, God that he lives with her.
Anyway, as I was talking to Ex-H he made the comment that he guessed Mr. P didn’t understand my relationship with “all of us”. I laughed and told him “No. He understands my relationship with EX-S and Nana. He just doen’t understand my relationship with YOU! He started to go off on one of his lectures to me and I stopped him. NO. He went through a wife walking away and leaving him to raise two boys by himself. That took care of the rant.
Last night they moved Nana to a floor (SI-which Mr. P couldn’t tell me what that meant). You know he is my authority on all things medical.
Please continue to pray for Nana. Also pray for EX. He is feeling a little guilty for driving past his mother’s road twice every day and not stopping in to visit. I also feel a little guilty, I have driven by the house twice since I moved over here and didn’t stop.

  2. I wonder if we can ever think we have loved enough? Thank God for Christ, the church and Holy Spirit who spurs us on.

My husband’s group performs in a show tonight. It is not my favorite thing for them to do. It will be nice to see acquaintances we do not see often. It involves hours at a time I feel like I do not have them to give. All will be well, however. What absolutely must get done always does.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

  3. Good morning, all. A beautiful day here. Son is out trying to reconfigure the solar lights so they shine at night. Daughter is pouting because she was fired from dusting. Again.

  4. I’m rejoicing this morning. For the first time in 2023, my two combined email accounts have less than 20 outstanding emails between them. What a relief!

Now I can decorate the Christmas tree without guilt!

Stargazer is on his way home from a wedding in India. Flying over China . . .

  5. Kim, that sounds … complicated. Praying for full recovery for your ex-MIL.

My email accounts are long since out of control. I live with it. It’s a unique personality type, I tell myself.

Sunny and windy here today, which will be a day of personal errands for me – picking up some prescriptions, stopping into Home Depot, continued picking up of the house, decorating (?), seeing if stylist is working today to trim my side-swept “bangs” that are no longer even close to being “bangs,” just hanging in my face … I’ve tried to be good by not cutting them myself, but I’ve had nothing but trouble trying to coordinate a pop-in visit with stylist to take care of it for weeks now.

I haven’t signed up for any vacation time this holiday season, breaking my long-standing tradition of always taking 2 full weeks off (separated) in December. 😦 The time just got away from me. And I pulled the New Years Day holiday shift this year.

  6. Good afternoon, Wanderers! It’s such a busy time with holiday shopping, mostly online for me.

I put a prayer at the end of yesterday’s thread for your request, Kim. It is a very difficult time to go through that situation as you feel pulled by obligations and, more so, love into two different families. It is a blessing and hardship cimbined. I have also prayed for BG in addition to Ex and all including you.

  7. Attempting to post on my iPad since WP won’t allow me to on my phone. It has been a real stinker lately!

Praying for Nana and all of her loved ones.

Cold…23 degrees our high…and six inches of new fallen snow this morning. Daughter made the drive from Castle Rock to home last evening during the most treacherous conditions. I prayed the entire time. She is such a good driver but even that situation unsettled her…which can only make her an even better driver! She was thankful that not one car other than her’s was on our county rd…it has a couple extremely steep blind hills!

Church tomorrow then a Christmas gathering in town…hoping the roads clear before then but our temps aren’t helping with that hope!

  8. We had our Christmas tea and program today. I connected with several new ladies. During the program I sat by the widow that I took to the party last week. She told me that she was going home this week in the middle of the day and a deer jumped onto her car. The car is totaled. What a scary experience

After being at church this morning it has been hard to remember what day it is

  9. Good morning all. I woke up to a CO detector at two AM. As I was trying to locate which alarm it was (we have twelve of them here), I glimpsed son standing in front of the one in his hall, in the dark, apparently doing something.

    What is going on?

I was walking down the hall and bumped it.

No, what really happened? And why is there tape here?

I was running down the hall and bumped it.

No, what really happened, truth this time.

I was walking down the hall swinging my water bottle and it went whup and it went shrash.

Ok, wouldn’t it have made more sense to tell me the truth when I asked you what happened when it happened at four in the afternoon rather than being woken up at two by an alarm?

    Yes.

    Good night.

    Good night.

There, I wrote that while trying to stay awake to make certain no connecting alarms went off when I disabled that one until daytime. It is snowing and I am off to bed again.

  10. It’s Kim again…
We as of yesterday afternoon we were back to Nana having a stroke. Yes, she still has the tumor, but she also had a stroke. Thankfully she woke up nephew and went back to her room, so the quickness of everyone was good.
She began physical therapy yesterday afternoon, and will go to a rehap facility next week. The doctors have said the more visiters she has the better. They’ve noticed she perks and up and is with it when someone new comes in. So we will all be spreading out our visits so she gets a steady stream of people.
BG went to see her yesterday.
Thank you for praying for her.
I laugh when I tell people I was probably the only wife that ever looked at her husband and said, “If you would just do what your mother tells you…..”
