Prayer Requests 11-21-23

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 119:145-160

ק Qoph

145 I call with all my heart; answer me, Lord,
    and I will obey your decrees.
146 I call out to you; save me
    and I will keep your statutes.
147 I rise before dawn and cry for help;
    I have put my hope in your word.
148 My eyes stay open through the watches of the night,
    that I may meditate on your promises.
149 Hear my voice in accordance with your love;
    preserve my life, Lord, according to your laws.
150 Those who devise wicked schemes are near,
    but they are far from your law.
151 Yet you are near, Lord,
    and all your commands are true.
152 Long ago I learned from your statutes
    that you established them to last forever.

ר Resh

153 Look on my suffering and deliver me,
    for I have not forgotten your law.
154 Defend my cause and redeem me;
    preserve my life according to your promise.
155 Salvation is far from the wicked,
    for they do not seek out your decrees.
156 Your compassion, Lord, is great;
    preserve my life according to your laws.
157 Many are the foes who persecute me,
    but I have not turned from your statutes.
158 I look on the faithless with loathing,
    for they do not obey your word.
159 See how I love your precepts;
    preserve my life, Lord, in accordance with your love.
160 All your words are true;
    all your righteous laws are eternal.

  1. Prayer especially for AJ this morning. May God give comfort and peace of mind along with general feelings of wellness during the waiting. May this be an especially blessed Thanksgiving season with his loved ones. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  2. Perhaps a strange prayer request: Please pray for Heidi, and for me dealing with her.

    Heidi will be 14 in December, and is showing her age in certain ways. One of those ways is “sundowning” (or something very similar) in the evenings. For a while each evening, she is quite restless, such as walking back and forth in the kitchen, thinking there is food on the counter (and barking at it) although nothing is there, getting into areas she’s always ignored until recently, etc.. I have to keep checking on her and often dissuading her away from whatever she might be trying to get into.

    I’ve tried a textured mat with peanut butter smeared on it to keep her occupied licking it off for a little while, but then she goes back to the other behavior and activity. She finally decides there’s nothing more to do and settles down shortly before we’ll be going to bed.

    After a little reading on the subject, I am going to be trying a melatonin product for dogs. It is supposed to have a calming effect. Please pray that it will work for her. Thank you.

    In the meantime, please pray for me. Due to this, and Rudy the cat annoying me to feed him, my evenings are feeling frustrated, and not restful. Thank you.

  3. Aww Kizzie…praying you can be a comfort to your sweet Heidi as she experiences restlessness. I have heard positive reports with the melatonin and I have a friend who gave her elderly Golden some CBD oil. She said giving that to him was an answer to prayer. It even helped with his old sore bones when getting up and down. ❣️

  4. NJ – That is encouraging. After I told her about this, and what I had ordered, Nightingale suggested CBD oil, too. I will see how well the melatonin works for her first, and then may try the CBD oil if needed.

  5. I think my vet suggested the CBD product as well, there’s maybe one made for dogs? Can’t remember (as I tried so much with my dogs as they got older) but I think I tried it but wasn’t sure it helped; but I did also use the melatonin for dogs. I think it was when Cowboy was having problems at night but then those issues passed. It’s all kind of a blur now, there was so much going on during that time with the dogs and me & my knee, my sick friends, the still-lingering pandemic, everything.

    Praying this phase passes w/Heidi and you find things to help so you’ll all settle back into a settled routine again. -dj
