Good morning! I was awake around 5:30, and knowing I would have a church meeting later spurred me to arise early and get Bible study done.
Looks like another rainy day is in store for us. We started out in the sixties so will proba ly be in the seventies. Our utility bills are slimmer than the usual summer chunkies.
Good morning. We have our bills spread out for the year by the electric company. They readjust twice a year, so a couple of bills vary by a bit. It is a good service for those who have high usage because of using electricity to heat their homes. Fuel oil and natural gas owners would probably not do it that way.
Good morning, all. I was enjoying the fresh morning air but we took the plunge as my dad was clearly cold under his heap of blankets in his chair. We turned on the new furnace and dad got a big grin as his dining room chair is stationed right between two new heater vents. But then he was so comfortable he set out for his walk without a coat. Comfortable to me for short sleeves but he needs a coat at fifty six degrees.
You take such good care of your Dad, Mumsee.
Time to head out to pick up the littles. I have several things planned for today. And I want to show them the bike park to see if they might want to do that sometime.
Tonight I will attend a performance of Swan Lake to watch my older granddaughter. It will make for a long day, but tomorrow is free.
I went to bed last night at 7:30. I just couldn’t stay awake any longer as I had gone to the pool to exercise again.
I had a nice morning meeting with a few folks on the church library team. We got new books processed and ready to go into the children’s library being set up with the school. There were only four of us. We shared our prayer requests and I volunteered to pray over them all. It would be hard to say in our group of older people who has the greatest of prayer needs as they are all so many!
Just wondering for any who attend churches with libraries, are they still open and being utilized? My church has a nice old library but is rarely used. Has anyone witnessed a transformation that works to encourage library materials to be used?
Our church has a lovely library with a fancy sign out system, too! But, I was looking to see if one of my books that I had lent the old librarian to read had been put on the shelves instead of returned to me and I had a hard time figuring out how the books were organized. And by old, I mean the previous librarian who has since moved away.
The old librarian must have taken your book with her, Kare. Those who enforce the law (or rules) seem somehow to rise above it being applied to themselves.
I checked out the movie Amazing Grace from the library today. I hope Art will want to watch it instead of another round of Major Crimes or NCIS reruns.
We had a humdinger of a thunderstorm roll through this morning. No hail for us but very foreboding skies accompanied with lightning and thunder booms! While all that was happening outdoors I decided to make zucchini bread. The fireplace was on in the family room and it was downright cozy in here!😊
Aj steal away!😂
I had pulled off the road to take those with my phone…
I was a librarian in a church we attended years ago. I used to write book reports that were included in a monthly newsletter. Nevertheless, the library was not used much. That would be true of the other churches we attended with libraries. We don’t have one in this church.
We have many theology books, since my husband was pursuing a theology master’s degree. He never wrote the last paper, but did all the other course work. I read all those books. Plus, it is just an interest for us. I am not sure where the hundreds of books will end up. There just seems to be little interest.
When we lived in Iowa we attended a church with a library that got some use. Now we are at a house church and the pastor is a voracious reader. He lets us borrow books and often buys extra copies to give away.
Morning! It is a beautiful morn in this forest but getting up at4 am is for the birds!!😂

Good morning, everyone! It’s overcast outside, but we had a hard rain yesterday so maybe the clouds are emptied for a few days.
NJ, I’m pretty sure 4:30 is too early for even the birds around here. :–)

No library in my church though it shares the building with the public library. We do share books with each other.

I mentioned I might be speaking next Sunday. I think I’ll go with 1 John 1:6-2:2, those “If we…then He” statements have a lot in them.
