8 “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels.”

Good morning, all. Sitting here in the hotel room, waiting for family to wake up so we can head out on today’s hike. I don’t know if we are repeating the waterfall hike from yesterday or going in a new direction to the mountaintop.

It is beautiful outside and the air is cool with a slight breeze. Pollens abound but not going to let it get the best of me today….Claritin!
Cousin and her husband are going to visit the area next week and I have invited them for dinner next Thursday evening….I am already flustered over what to prepare!
hmmm…. what a strange post from Mumsee as she usually goes nowhere. Wondering where in the world she is…
I am packing up my room to move to the missions house I hope that I don’t lose things and forget where they are again.
Mumsee is at a once every three years family reunion I do believe.
I had a wonderful time with the ladies in my Wellspring Bible study group this morning. I ended up staying on the phone for about an hour extra with one of the ladies after the others left.
A friend sent a picture/video of a five year old feral cat rescued in her neighborhood that needs to be indoors because of allergies to bug bites. She thought Wes might give her a good home. My friend has such a large heart for animals. I would love this cat, but Queen B would not!
Mrs B and KJ and I took a weekend trip to the Dayton/Cincinnati area. The occasion was the World Ultimate Club Championship tournament. (The sport commonly known as “Ultimate Frisbee” is officially called just “Ultimate” because Frisbee is a brand name.) There are over 100 teams from all over the world competing in three divisions this whole week.
(A lot of people think Ultimate Frisbee and Frisbee Golf are the same thing. They are not. Ultimate is in different ways like soccer, football, and basketball. Teams pass a disk down the field to score goals by catching the disk in the opponents’ end zone.)
One of our son’s best friends, Nathan, whose parents are also our friends, is on a club team from our area named “Hybrid”. They surprised the US ultimate community last year by taking second place in the national tournament, the first time the team had participated. They were one of the four top US teams from last year invited to be in this year’s world tournament.
Their first game wasn’t until Sunday afternoon, so we only got to see their first one. We thought about staying for a second game at 5 pm, but with a fairly long drive home ahead of us we decided to leave early.
On Saturday we also had a long visit with a family in Dayton we had been friends with for many years through our church here. It was the first time we’ve seen them since they moved to Dayton six years ago. How much their 5 children have changed in that time! The joy of sharing fellowship and a good meal with them more than made up for our only being able to see one game.
That sounds like a wonderful family and friends weekend, Kevin. So glad it all worked out for everyone to get together and enjoy the sports event as well as the shared meal!
Aah Kevin you were in my old stompin’ grounds! I have been checking on flights into Dayton instead of Cincinnati just in case I attend my 50th high school reunion in September. An old classmate who is coordinating the event texted me and said he thought this would be the last reunion for the class of 72…now the pressure is on!
My family and I lived in Centerville, Ohio for several years (most of my prime growing up years, from age 8 to 14 and a half), and then Miamisburg, Ohio for about a year and a third. My friends and I enjoyed hanging out at the Dayton Mall a lot.
I put Cowboy down today, very hard — so I’ve put down 2 dogs in 2 weeks. Brutal. Lots and lots of tears and sadness, Cowboy was especially tough. We had quite a bit of time to just be together before the procedure, I stroked his head and face, he just stared into my eyes with his brown-blue swirl eyes that are so beautiful. Sweet, sweet dog.
And how strange to come home to a household with no dog, for the first time in 30 some years. 😦 😦
I looked through the sidebar, but could not find them.
I am moved into this house. Nothing is put away, but I went and got some groceries.
Only forgot my honey, salad dressing, and my computer power cord. Oh, well
