It’s time for another venture into the unknown. Week 6 brings us to the halfway point in the season. Once again, let’s see if the non-57ers can show us their acumen in prognosticating the outcome of 10 college football games. Some of these are going to be tricky, as there are two games involving top top teams in their conferences vying for that ultimate goal of being eligible for the “Final Four”, including Kevin‘s choice for the tie breaker. There are also two games involving teams trying to avoid being the worst in their conferences. As well, we have the first match-up of military schools vying for the Commander-in-Chief Trophy. So have at it, Pigskin Pickers. It’s going to be a fun weekend.
Pick your choices by NOON EDT Saturday.

A game with two teams ranked similarly is what I was looking for for the tiebreaker. I was going to pick Auburn/Florida until I saw Iowa/Michigan.

I already had the Iowa-Michigan game picked out, so I added the TCU-Iowa game, since I had forgotten to have a Big 12 contest. Mainly because most of those look like obvious blowouts this week.
My picks:
Iowa State
Army
Auburn
Navy
Arizona
Ohio State
Ole Miss
Washington
Texas-El Paso
Iowa 24-21 (maybe in overtime)

Well, Kevin, I had to go with Iowa due to family ties. But it looks like Michigan might pull off an upset.

Okay. At least it didn’t take long to see who won the tie breaker, since only Kevin picked the winner. But so far, after 6 games, I have 3, Kevin and Mike have 2, and everyone else has 1. It’s a tough week.

A week to forget. The best we could do was 50%. We all failed. Or, our picks failed us. All of us picked Army. They lost. All if us picked Washington. They lost. Most of us picked Iowa. They lost. Most of us picked Auburn. They lost. Most of us picked Texas-El Paso. You guessed it, they lost.
So, though Kevin is the only one to pick Michigan in the tie breaker, he only got 4, as did Mumsee, Janice, and Mike. AJ and Chas only got 2. The winner is yours truly with 5, though someone may cry foul.
Next week is number 7. Maybe it will be a lucky number for someone.

Cheryl- You can’t win if you don’t play. So join us next week, then you can complain if/when you lose.

I’m pretty happy that my pro fantasy team picks are much better than my college picks. I really stink at this lately. 🙂

If we had a “consensus” entry, choosing for each game the majority of us picked, this week it picked only three correct, Arizona, Ohio State, and Ole Miss.

I didn’t say that right. If we had a “consensus entry, choosing for each game the team that the majority of us picked,…
