Why don’t we give all these DACA kids the US citizenship requirements test, two weeks to cram and then test them? If they can display they understand the requirements, have a job and want to participate in our government systems, we let them stay.
Shouldn’t our country reap the benefits of having educated them?
Now what about the illegals who birthed them while here to use as anchor babies?
Do we reward their lawbreaking?
Also, many came unaccompanied and were placed with family members who were also illegal. How do you allow the minors to stay while removing the law breaking adults/family members housing them?
“It sucks when the actions of one crazy and monstrous person affect the innocent people around them, eh CNN? That so many people who did nothing wrong must pay the price for the one jackass who did.
But tell us more about how we should ban firearms of law-abiding Americans and blame the NRA for this shooting.”
Awww, that’s too bad.
From CNN:
MSD students will only be allowed to carry clear backpacks on campus and will be required to wear new student IDs at all times.
There will be an increased police presence on campus, as Gov. Rick Scott provides extra Florida Highway Patrol officers to beef up security and provide support to Broward County sheriff’s deputies. Students will have limited points of entry to the school.
The school district also says it’s considering whether to install metal detectors at the school’s entrances. A letter from Principal Ty Thompson sent to families on Friday said that step has not been taken yet.
“It feels like being punished,” Robinson told CNN. “It feels like jail, being checked every time we go to school.
Now they know how every innocent gun owner and NRA member in the country feel.”

Smart and sophisticated look at Chappaquiddick, both the movie and the political moment, by @petercanellos, editor of one of the one of the most important books on Ted Kennedy. https://t.co/gnH5jfhEVc
I’ve long held that the US media has a corporate not liberal bias. The recent Sinclair scripted reading is a blatant example of this.
On the opposing side, it’s been suggested that Trump’s irrational attack on Amazon is in part motivated by the negative press he receives from the Washington Post; owned by Jeff Bezos.
In both above incidences, it appears American democracy is transforming into a system more closrly resembling Putin or Erdogan. If you’re lucky maybe it will look like Italy under Berlusconi.
Schadenfreude is a German word meaning to take pleasure in the misfortune of others. When adults tell high school kids to cry me a river because they are upset their school resembles a prison; schadenfreude comes to my mind. It’s pretty sad that adults clouded by their own political positions are happy students go to school in police state conditions.
Satirically I wonder if they would support the students exercising their second amendments to overthrow the government run oppression of the school system.
Here’s an idea related to DACA.

This movie looks good.
We saw Isle of Dogs on Saturday night. It was also very good for a movie made after 1960.
