Dale Zimmer is dead.
Mel (Elvera’s bro-in-law) called yesterday. Later Margaret (first crissum pm mother’s side) called. Dale Zimmer has died.
In 2001 we moved from Annandale, Va. to Hendersonville. The first Sunday we went to FBCHNC. Early service. After the service we asked a guy where the old folks SS classes met. He said, “”I’ll take you there.”
Elvera asked if they had a class just for ladies. He said, “Yes, I teach it”.
That’s how we met Dale Zimmer.
Dale later asked me to join the Lion’s Club. It was Bill Styakas who was persistent, but Dale invited me first.
Dale and Linda have a mentally handicapped daughter, Sandy, sweet girl. I say “girl”, she’s in her fifties, but still a child. Linda is going to need help. They have resources, including healthy children.
Sorry for your loss, Chas. I am glad they have the resources and help around them.
I know a lot of people who play by ear, including my husband. One lady I know picked up the piano just because her Sunday School had no one to play it. That is a God-given gift.

Sandy has a beautiful voice. They say that every night, Linda plays the piano while Sandy sings. She can’t read buy knows all the old hymns.

Linda plays, Sandy sings.
Sandy, though a mature woman, attends VBS with the children. She always sings at the VBS ceremony at the church. ,
