Anyone have something to share?
Psalm 136:1-9
1 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.
His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
His love endures forever.
4 to him who alone does great wonders,
His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights—
His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
His love endures forever.
My mother-in-law fell this morning. Thankfully, my brother-in-law, with whom she lives, hadn’t left for work yet.
She is in the hospital — no broken bones — but it’s unclear why she fell. Hubby said she may have had a heart attack. I don’t know whose speculation that is — his, his brother’s, the doctors? — or whether, if she had one, it occurred before or after the fall. She was extremely upset by the fall, understandably so. She may also have a bladder infection.
I am so glad she was no longer living alone in her home. She moved in with my BIL a couple of months ago. She had insisted on climbing up and down those steep, hardwood stairs every evening and morning, going between her bedroom upstairs and the main living area downstairs. She hadn’t wanted to move, but thank God she wasn’t still there when whatever happened today happened.
Please pray for her strengthening and comfort. Knowing her, she probably hates being in the hospital.
Thank you.

It is always so difficult to know when to move. Sometimes it is those stairs that keep one in better shape. Praying.

Kathaleena, true. There are stairs at my BIL’s house, too, though my MIL has no reason to go down to the basement, as everything she needs is on the ground floor. She could get some exercise walking those stairs, though, and do so safely with BIL at her side.
But it’s hard to give up degrees of independence, too — she probably wouldn’t like having anyone walking next to or somewhere near her — and that (giving up some independence) does carry with it its own consequences.
Thanks for praying.

A stair step machine or a treadmill might be a good way to get exercise, but stairs themselves are one of the biggest causes of injuries (and sometimes death) for seniors.

I’m struggling with low energy and motivation today, and haven’t snapped out of it. (Usually Mondays are my good days.) Teary tonight because the day feels like it was utterly wasted.

This is a small thing, but I’ll ask anyway. I have an appointment tomorrow with a cable technician coming here to fix a problem with our cable, as it is not coming through on the TV. The technician will be here sometime between 1 and 3. Please pray that he comes closer to 1 than to 3. I have to go out around 3 to get The Boy from the bus stop at the top of the lane, and in order to be there in time, am often up there for five to ten minutes. Thank you.
