Thanks for the prayers Monday for Lindsey. All labs came back normal/negative….So, basically, they have found nothing wrong with her physically….Pediatrician thinks it’s anxiety….I’ve made an appointment for 10/24 (earliest available) with psychiatrist….Please continue to pray for her and for wisdom for me.
Praying you get some answers, Ann. I will say that doctors tend to blame ‘nerves’ or anxiety for everything they cannot explain. I had headaches for years which were blamed on that. They disappeared when I started on allergy meds.
My daughter had a lot of different symptoms that several doctors blamed on the same things. After an ambulance ride and the right testing, she found out she had mono, basically.
Some of those doctors (and I have had this happen) were quick to want to prescribe drugs. I am so glad she did not listen to them!
This came down our prayer chain– I asked you to pray for Paul several days go. It’s difficult to believe what has happened to him 😦
With great fervency please pray for Paul, especially today. Paul has been hospitalized at Stanford Med Center for well over a month with a bacterial infection that has not even now come under control. It likely started in his knee after a knee replacement surgery.
It has aggressively attacked Paul’s fingers and toes requiring the need to amputate, thus far, most of his fingers and with word being given that likely his toes are next. His hands and feet are also both at high risk. Paul will go through amputation surgery tonight. They will simultaneously “wash” out his knee to attack more aggressively the infection.
Paul and wife, Linda, both asked the church pray for the surgery and the wash, that it along with the administration of antibiotics and medical treatment, all along with and under the Lord’s hand of healing and wholeness, will put an end to the progression of the infection, and then reverse the devastating presence of the infection “bug.”
Please pray, also, for the protection of Paul’s physical body so that the Lord will ward of the infection’s attack and that he be spared from further need of amputation. And pray for Paul’s physical life. Paul has been at the edge a couple of times already because of the impact of this infectious attack and the strain it puts on his body.
Compared to what that poor man is going through, my request is little, & I may just be worrying needlessly. In fact, that is probably what it is.
But. . .after a long day at the hospital due to delays (arriving around 11:30, leaving close to 5:30), I was able to take off the eye shield (which I will also be wearing at night for the next week) a little while ago, to find that my eye cannot see well. It feels & seems like there is a film over it. I can see through it somewhat, but not well. This did not happen with the left one at all.
It is possible (I am guessing here) that it is due to a drop they used at the end of the surgery, which was more powerful than what they used at the other place. The drop was too un-dilate my eye, because my eyes dilate too wide, & they don’t want the lens falling out (yeah, that could happen with over-dilated eyes), but it also causes a wicked headache (which has finally mostly subsided, but is still hanging on a bit).
I have a post-op appointment tomorrow morning, so if there is a problem, the doctor can check it out. I am hoping & praying this clears up overnight, but there is some worry that it’s a problem.
Sorry for whining, but I’m disappointed that I can’t see well tonight, & I am a little worried, even though I’m telling myself it will probably clear up overnight. Please pray it does. Thank you.
To give you an idea how much more powerful that drop was. . .Last time, the less powerful drop caused the dilation to go down a little bit, but even eight hours later my eye was still dilated. This more powerful drop caused the dilation to go way down right away, & three hours later, it looks back to normal. That’s why I suspect (& am hoping) that that is the cause of this problem.

Will definitely keep this in my prayers.
