It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Psalm 96
¹O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth.
2 Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; shew forth his salvation from day to day.
3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.
4 For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
5 For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
6 Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
7 Give unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lordglory and strength.
8 Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.
9 O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.
10 Say among the heathen that the Lord reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
12 Let the field be joyful, and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice
13 Before the Lord: for he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he shall judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.
A friend of the children has died. For many years, they got hay with him and firewood and otherwise worked with him. He was married a bit over a year ago and has left a beautiful young wife and a two and a half month old baby. They and most of the family are believers. It was a work accident involving and excavator. I don’t believe he was driving it as he was down in the ditch when the ground collapsed under the excavator. Prayer for the family, of course and for friends and neighbors who are watching, to see the love of Christ exhibited in this tragedy.
Oh, Mumsee, I’m so sorry. Prayers for his family. Those details are almost an exact match with how my sister was widowed. Her husband was buried under a wall of dirt that collapsed while he was down in a trench during the building of their house. It happened four days after their first anniversary, and my niece was 4 months old at the time.
I will keep them in my prayers. Prayers for your children, too.
NancyJill, from yesterday’s prayer thread, thanks for sharing that about Hannah’s experience. I’m glad everything turned out well, and it helps take away the jittery feeling I’ve had some last night and today, thinking, “My daughter needs to see someone in cardiology?”
And thank you, once again, all of you, for your prayers.
Thank you for summer and all the activity that revolves around this season with vacations, gathering of fresh food crops, longer days for being outside more, and the more general relaxed quality of life before school starts. Some will even start back next week so people will be once again cranking up to high gear. Please be with all teachers preparing for the new school year. May they take their work seriously as they have influence over the young. I pray for students who dread going to school because they fa e bullies or school work beyond their comprehension. Please help those who need a better situation.
Lord, I lift up the family spoken of by Mumsee who lost the husband and dad because of an accident. May the grieving know Your available comfort and peace as they go through the shock of this death and huge misfortune. Please provide for those left behind. Please help the young at the nest who will miss the deceased. May they be thankful for fond memories and having known their friend.
I lift up Mr. P for continuing assistance with his health situation. May the relief increase over time and the pain grow less and less.
I pray for Annms to be feeling much better from both the tooth problem and from the adjustment to her meds. May she feel Your healing presence making things right in her body. I pray for things to go well with her parents with all they go through.
Please continue to help the Arrow who has to see the cardiologist. That is a scare for them to have to deal with. Please let there be a good finding for easy remedy. Thank You for the Lyme report. Thank You that the piano student has enrolled for additional instruction.
I pray for my husband, Art, as the time for his next procedure draws closer. Please help him to pay closer attention to taking care of himself by having good nutrition and getting some walking in so his body can be strong going into his surgery in Sept. I also pray for my brother to find good employment near his home. Lastly, I pray for my son to have good rapport with the new incoming students, his colleagues, and favor with those people he knows socially. As former friends have left for new positions, I pray he will find new friends to fill gaps. Help him always to do his best in his own studies and to be a really good teacher and influences for those he instructs. May he continue to ho or and glorify You in his speech, thoughts, and actions.
In Jesus I lift my prayers to You. Thank You for Your answers. Amen
6 Arrows – 1st Daughter went to a pediatric cardiologist for a few years when she was a child. I don’t remember if that continued into her teens. She had something like a short circuit in her heart, so it was an irregular beat.
The way we discovered it wasn’t at the doctor’s office. We were playing with a Fisher-Price play doctor’s kit, & L listened to her heart through the play stethoscope (which worked somewhat), & heard an irregular beat.
I’m not sure if she still has it, but if she does, it is minor enough to not be a concern.
I requested prayers recently for safe travels for a number of people. You know my arrows who helped my 2nd arrow move all got back safely. Also, my brother and family are now safely back home from their Colorado trip, and my friend’s daughter (former student of mine) is back safely from her conference in Germany, having left earlier in the day of the Munich attacks last Saturday. Thank you for all your prayers.

Praises that 4th Arrow can get in already on Monday for her echocardiogram. I’m thankful things are moving along quickly with getting answers.

Sometimes this tablet drops letters as you may have noticed.
“Face Bullies”
“Honor and glorify You”

Thanks, Karen. That’s reassuring, and I’m glad that 1st Daughter is doing well with it, if she still has it.
