  1. 🙂 Another fun Biddy interview.

🙂 😦 WAY too much cake and celebratory food for the last week. I’m hung over from sugar (which is really bad for me) and uninterested in food of any sort. The final birthday of birthday season is next Saturday–followed by a graduation party for a friend at our house–so the excess continues.

    🙂 Hey, rain last night.

🙂 😦 11 days left to write my essay for Our Utmost for His Highest: Reflections on the Legacy of Oswald Chambers.

😦 I hate my first draft.

🙂 I have time to write more and/or savagely edit what I have. 🙂

🙂 God’s in His heaven; all’s right in my world.

  2. 😦 A lot of babysitting to do the next couple weeks (& the week past). Emily has her training, during first shift, for Fox Hill (the nursing home she’s been hired at) & more days of orientation, along with an evening at Claire’s next week (after working at Fox Hill for the day). Next week Chrissy & I will be babysitting six days out of seven, & the week after is quite busy, too. Fortunately this is temporary, & will settle down after her orientation & training are complete. But until then. . .pray for patience & calm for me & for Chrissy.

🙂 Forrest is a little sweetie, & has actually been easier to babysit than he used to be. (The “hard part” of babysitting right now isn’t that it is hard work, but that the hours are long, he needs a lot of attention, & . . . well, let’s just say that he is very verbally inclined. 😉 )

🙂 Last evening, as soon as he & Emily came home from being out for a while, he came directly to me in the living room, to show me, & have me feel, how wiggly his tooth is. I expressed that I was duly impressed. “Pretty wiggly!” I said.

Then, as he ran upstairs to his mom, I followed to shut the doors (ours & hers, which he sometimes to forgets to close in his excitement). I heard him proudly telling Emily, “Mimi said, ‘Pretty wiggly!’ ” So cute!

  3. I just looked at the calendar again. Our extra-busy time continues for three more weeks (that I know of), not just the couple weeks I mentioned above. Stupid calendar.

  4. 🙂 We are putting a beach front home on the market.
🙂 It stays rented back to back which means a guest checks out at 10am and another guest checks in at 3pm for almost the entire summer.
😦 Guy called the rental management company last Saturday to make sure the house was clean so he would go in and take some pictures.
    😦 The house was dirty.
🙂 This week I hired a professional photographer to take the photos. He was scheduled to go in at 11:30
😦 I called the rental management company on Monday or Tuesday to tell them I had a photographer going in at 11:30 and to please make sure the house was clean. They put in a special work order.
😦 I called yesterday to get a Kaba code to get the photographer in. They couldn’t give me one. It had to be the day of entry. I reminded them that a photographer was going in at 11:30 and the house needed to be clean.
😦 I called this morning at 9 am to get the code and told the guy who answered that I needed to make sure the house was among the first cleaned since a photographer would be going in at 11:30. The guy was rude and told me that they house wouldn’t be ready at any specific time because they had 500 properties to turn today.
😉 I am experienced so I called the photographer to give him the code and told him not to bother getting there until about 12.
😦 He called me a little after 12 and he and the cleaning crew got there at the same time!!!!
😦 They told him it would take 2 hours to have the house cleaned.
🙂 He is experienced too. He negotiated with them to clean one room at a time and then he would go in to photograph each room as it was cleaned.

All’s well that ends well, but it was extremely frustrating. I thought for a little while I was going to be cleaning a beach house my own self.

    It was a very frust

  5. Kim – Sometimes I take a look at the photos of a house for sale, just out of curiosity. Recently I looked at the photos of a house that a local real estate agent had posted on Facebook.

The rooms were all so cluttered & messy! I couldn’t believe the agent let those photos be posted.

I’ve also seen photos of apartments on the website for the apartment complex we lived in before we bought our house. Although the apartment we had was quite large & spacious, I could tell that the staged photos used smallish furniture to make them look larger. For instance, the couch in the living room looked like it was a love seat, not a full-length couch, & the dining room table looked small.

  6. Our photos looked like the house.
We are finding imperfections in this house.
    I didn’t like ATT U-Verse. I don’t think I will like Time-Warner either.
Morris Broadband in NC was better, I think.

  7. I need to call Uverse again, it’s that time of year when they hike my rates. So annoying, but all the companies do the same thing.
