There’s a Bernie rally today just down the hill from me on the waterfront. It’s supposed to start at 11 but people were expected to line up hours before that to get in. A reporter from one of our sister papers who’s been covering all the national political candidate appearances locally will be there so we should get something online by mid afternoon. The locals are all very excited about it, this is a Bernie kind of port town with all the activist unions.
The polls now have Sanders & Clinton head to head in California, her once comfortable lead has vanished. If she loses (even though she’ll probably have the delegates needed by then), I’m guessing there will be a lot of hand-wringing in the party.
… Then there’s his penchant for bowing to foreign leaders. He has bowed to the king of Saudi Arabia. He bowed to the emperor of Japan on a previous visit. He has bowed to China’s leader, Xi Jinping. And these are not casual nods of the head, but unmistakable gestures of obeisance.
For those who may wonder, the diplomatic protocol on bowing is clear: Heads of state don’t bow to other heads of state, monarchs or otherwise. Period. And Americans don’t bow to anyone. We fought a revolution to establish that point. …

Trump and Sanders agree the debate should take place in a massive arena, likely in California, where both parties will hold primary contests on June 7.
Sanders channeled his inner Trump in proposing “the biggest stadium possible” for the debate. …

A debate between Sanders and Trump? It may not (probably won’t) happen. But just the suggestion makes your head spin
