🙂 Talked briefly to Carol through the general line where she lives (her boyfriend calls a lot, sounds like they’re getting seriously irritated with fielding all her calls). She wanted me to come see her today but I declined, still just too much to take care of in my own life on this Saturday — in addition to some rest. Slept in longer than I have in a while, but it sure felt good. I’m hoping and praying she’s reassessing her disastrous financial situation, but there is no hint of that in her conversations.
😦 National election despair. The road show is coming to California and we’re already seeing the candidates and their teams invading.
🙂 As a journalist and political junkie, I find it all intensely fascinating. Can’t help myself. 🙂
😦 As a citizen, I find it all quite horrifying.
😦 Cowboy seems to have a very weepy, crusty left eye. Maybe just allergies or some other irritation that will pass, but I’ll have to keep a watch on it, maybe wipe/soak it with some warm paper towels.
🙂 Huge bull moose wandered through our yard yesterday – husband was out doing his cool down stretches and was just lying on the mat with his eyes closed when he heard strange thumping. He opened his eyes just as a moose walked around the back end of the jeep! Thankfully Keva just barked and the moose moved off down the driveway without attacking! Everyone was very surprised including the moose!
🙂 A grey jay also landed on the half open window of his work vehicle – right beside his face!
😦 🙂 Still haven’t seen a bear yet this spring
🙂 Pruned our apple tree today – I wish it already had blooms like the above picture, but it will be several weeks yet.
🙂 Supper out tonight at friends and then watching the new Star Wars movie with them.
It was kind of jarring to see him (in the news video) ranging along the streets and sidewalks of a suburban neighborhood, jumping over yard fences … Eeek
🙂 Music. What a blessing! We attended a bluegrass jam yesterday. As my husband was jamming with other musicians, I was chatting with another woman whose husband was also jamming. Soon we were joined by a beautiful, very tall, thin woman with long white hair. She told me she and her husband had been married four years. Both their first spouses had died. She loved to dance and mentioned doing Norwegian dancing. The first woman told me the woman who joined us was dancing while the musicians were jamming the evening before. She was sitting right in the midst of the musicians while they played. The dancer told me they had flown into town and I just assumed it was for the festival.
One of the hotel staff came to tell her the shuttle was ready for her and her husband. As she walked passed me she stopped and told me that their daughter was in the hospital and would probably die that day. She said the daughter had cancer. I grabbed her hand and told her I would be praying for peace for all of them. The hotel staff person told me later they had been visiting everyday at the hospital. The lady had told the staff that having the musicians playing was like a balm for her in the midst of all the sadness. You just never know…
I have to go over to the church to be honored.
I don’t want to be honored. But I’m going.
Our youth are having an affair at Crosswalk to honor veterans.
I wasn’t going to attend this because I have no interest in honoring.
Several young people came to our SS dept. to tell us what they were doing.
So, I’m going to support the young people.
I no longer have my uniform. Couldn’t wear it anyhow.
I’ll be glad when it’ s over. But I won’t tell them that.
I’m wearing my AF wings on a red shirt.
😆
🙂 Finally caught up on all the comment threads!
😦 Forgot all the wonderful, insightful, wise comments I was gonna make. 😉

🙂 Visited with dear friend this week.
😦 I was there because she had seriously hurt her back and couldn’t lift her little ones.
🙂 Long conversations about the things of the Lord.
😦 The pain of watching others go through heartbreaking situations.
🙂 Seeing the fruit of the Spirit in the lives of those we care about.

I miss Saturday football.
500 channels, and there’s nothing on but infomercials and Trump.
I may have to go cut grass.

🙂 The birds, the flowers. Spring.
😦 The weeds, the foxtails, the coyotes. …

We had a beautiful and graceful mountain lion loping around on one of our LA school campuses yesterday. Tranquilized and moved back into the hills. 🙂

Hummingbirds? Does that count for wildlife. 🙂

I would love to see a mountain lion in real life (as long as I was in a safe place)
