  1. The friend that I took the birthday cake for was very appreciative. She mentioned how much the school has changed and then said that the two of us could find a morning to pray together for the school. 🙂 🙂 🙂
This is what has been missing. Our employees have a weekly devotion and prayer time, but the staff doesn’t any longer. We used to meet three mornings a week for prayer.

  2. So many death this year and it’s only March. 😦

🙂 Knee surgery seemed to go well, husband’s procedure went well, friend’s foot surgery went well. When I prayed this morning it occurred to me it has been a long time since people had surgery to fix things. Lately, all it’s been is horrific cancer. So, pleasure to be thankful for healings!

🙂 Back into the writing groove, though it hasn’t been flying like it was before the three-week dead stop for negotiations.

🙂 Announcement in a couple weeks. I have to sign a contract first. 🙂

🙂 😦 Difficult spiritual realizations from the last curious month. I’m better, but sobered. I’ll write about it later; still processing. I also need to make sure I’ve changed! 🙂

🙂 Little more dampness this weekend; our yard hasn’t dried out yet from last week. So, no planting yet, but with the reservoirs at 107% and 115% we are thankful.

🙂 Daughter in a better place than last weekend!

🙂 😦 I’ll never be an empty nester….I was kind of looking forward to that day
🙂 The Lord is doing a good work in me…like Michelle….I need to make certain I’m cooperating, and changing…..how I long to be like Him….

  4. 🙂 Honestly, the older I get, I realize that one of the best things about eternity will be … no more sin to battle.

😦 No rain in our future for now. We’d sure hoped for more, but at least the state as a whole got some. Still, the drought goes on. Water rationing is still in place as they raise our water prices even more. None of us is sure exactly how that works. But it’s government.

😦 Newspaper survival wars. We were outbid in our effort to purchase another chain, but now the winning bidder is being sued by the feds for trying to create a monopoly. So it may go to us after all as the backup bidder. It’s been especially discouraging to read the news accounts that characterize us as the chain known for slashing and burning and downsizing newsrooms to a bare minimum — in order to maximize profits as much as possible for the hedge fund that owns us. 😦 It’s true, but still painful to read that that is now our “reputation” in the business.

  5. You learn interesting things at funerals.
The guy and his (predeceased) wife were local.
They were in the church nursery together.
When in first grade, she knew she was going to marry Sammy.
He played football for Wake Forest.
He was a school teacher, coach, principal, and assistant school director.
He was seven years younger than I am.

  6. 🙂 Emily learned that she passed the NCLEX, & is now an official Licensed Practical Nurse! (Those of you who are my Facebook friends already know this.)

😦 A couple difficult decisions we’ve had to make. (The one that concerns Chrissy is on the Prayer Requests from last night, 3/18.)

🙂 Dear friends whom we haven’t seen in about six years are coming over for lunch tomorrow after church.
