“Several Planned Parenthood officials and three private bio-medical firms were targeted on Friday by a U.S. congressional panel as lawmakers dig deeper into a controversy swirling around the women’s health organization.
A U.S. House of Representatives committee made public a letter requesting interviews with personnel from the organization who appeared in surreptitiously recorded videos in discussions about providing fetal tissue for research.
House Energy and Commerce Committee Republicans also said they had written to three companies identified as human fetal tissue suppliers to request information and briefings.”
“Everyone came out a winner — or so the rivals’ advisers proclaimed. Some of that bravado was typical post-debate hype, but some of it was grounded in reality. Trump may have been the center of attention, but others performed more effectively overall.
For months, Republican leaders have talked about the breadth, depth and potential strength of their candidates. As a group, the aspiring nominees are certainly more experienced and seemingly more ready for a national campaign than the collection of politicians who sought to deny Mitt Romney the GOP nomination in 2012.”
“Democrats would welcome Trump as the Republican nominee, or as an independent candidate. Privately, they are less enthusiastic about a race against some of the others.
One is Rubio, who declared forcefully early in the debate that he would present the starkest future-vs.-past contrast to Clinton. Another is Kasich, this year’s version of the compassionate conservative.”
The UK magazine the Economist endorsed Kaisch if the republicans wanted to win. However, they were were sure the republicans would mess it up. As a pro-Republican magazine they werent impressed by the front runners.
The young lady who interupted Sanders turned out to be a former Palin supporter according to her social media history. Bizarre.
” … only 41 percent of Democrats believe Congress should approve the president’s nuclear deal with the Iranian regime.
The numbers only get worse among independents and Republicans. Overall, just 27 percent of those polled believe Congress should approve the controversial nuclear deal with Iran. …”
I haven’t closely followed the Iran deal thing. Can anyone tell me what the (realistic) *worst case* scenario would be with the president’s proposed deal?
The BLM interruption gets stranger. Since the netroots interruption Sanders has been delibrately broading his message to include BLM concerns even going as far as to hire a BLM organizer. The lady who interrupted him has no affiliation with BLM. The question of race has been an attack method for those who wish to discredit him. The NYT ran a full page analysis describing his weakness on race. Rhis seems along the same lines. Some people really dont like him.
Iran deal – only american and iranian hardliners along with bibi oppose the deal. If the deal fails, the hardliners win and a nuclear weapons program starts without supervision. Meanwhile the EU, the russias and the chinese can wash their hands and say they tried. Its this deal or nothing happens (or perhaps it will give hardliners an excuse to bomb when iranian hardliners continue the program)
HRW, During Bill Clinton’s presidency, I called Paul Begala “Paul BeGoebbles. The Clintons ability to generate propaganda and control the media is better than that of Soviet Russia, and approaches that of the Third Reich.
Having said that, Sanders was silenced at an earlier event by someone claiming to represent Black Lives Maters. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice … It is inconceivable that his campaign would allow those two women to take the microphone away from him at a second event. The message being sent is that any black can get away with anything in a Sanders Administration.
Good question, Solar P. I really question whether all the efforts the U.S. made to keep nuclear weapons away from North Korea and Iran did any good. After all Pakistan (where Bin Laden lived for years) and with multiple ties to terrorism has had the bomb for years. Ultimately, China and Russia will influence Iran, North Korea and Asia’s other bad actors.
Good.

We will get nothing but the “Run-around.” Put it off long enough and maybe we will forget about it.
