Prayer Requests 7-31-15

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 57

¹Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

  1. Just wanted to check in and say thanks for covering me in prayer yesterday. I ask that you continue to do so. As the ’80’s country song states, “I can still feel all of that Love from here…”.

  2. I was informed today that my age waiver with the PNG government for my work permit has been approved. It seems to me that this has been a two year process and I have had to twice get one year visas. Now, in February, I can apply for a three year visa and not worry about a work permit. Ten of us were granted this approval today.

  3. So, I’m currently in Bandera with the family. We arrived last night around seven. My mom was passed out by 7:15…Her health continues to decline…She is now in excruciating pain due to lower back problems, but doctor thinks she’s too weak to survive surgery…She got a cortisone shot in her spine yesterday-they said it may take up to three shots to get relief, if any is even to be had (there’s no guarantee they will work at all).

  4. In the midst of this, I’m having my own psychiatric issues… My doctor changed my medication Monday and I’m not feeling quite myself…We are spending the day at Sea World today. It should be fun, but temp’s are expected to be in the low 100’s, so it’ll be hot…

  5. I told you earlier that Pastor Steve is going to preach a series on Bible verses everyone should know.
    to recap:
    ! John 5:11-12
    I Cor. 10:13
    ! John 1:9
    John 16:24
    Prov. 3:5-6

    I may suggest another:
I Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty had of God, that he may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.

  6. Bone scan was clear!

(Well, except for the places where arthritis is taking its toll.)

Thanking & praising God. I cried from relief when Lee told me.

Another positive development: Another man is starting the process to buy Lee’s route. Maybe we’ll get this thing sold after all!

  7. My mom’s in quite a bit more pain tonight than this morning. Her voice is weak and she’s having a hard time finding a position that is comfortable. She’s been taking only a half-pill at a time (every six hours), afraid she will vomit if she takes more. (Pain killers are what caused the severe nausea and vomiting when her back pain first started some weeks ago, so she is afraid to take them.) However, she has had no nausea with the pain killers she’s on now following her surgery, so my brother and sister-in-law, who live next door to my parents, are encouraging her to take a full pill.

Prayers that this will bring effective pain relief, and that she won’t get sick from them. I can’t imagine how much pain wretching and vomiting would cause someone who just had back surgery. 😦

  8. 6 – I sometimes take a ¼ of a gravol pill when I need to take a painkiller like codeine. It seems to keep the nausea at bay without putting me to sleep.

  9. Thanks, Kare. I wasn’t sure what gravol was, and looked it up. Apparently it’s called Gravol in Canada and Dramamine in the U.S. I’ll run that information by my mom tomorrow and see if she can find out whether that’s compatible with the other meds she’s taking.

  10. Prayers requested for hubby tomorrow. He’s driving 3 hours one way to go get 2nd Arrow’s car, and will try to limp it home going through small towns, which will make the return trip longer, but he’ll avoid the problem of breaking down on the interstate if the car gives him trouble. (And I will be able to get to him easier if I have to go pick him up somewhere along the way.)

    Thanks.

  11. Good morning.
    Praying for above requests.
Am still in Bandera; leaving today about 2:00, after church and lunch with my parents. I am asking for prayers once again, this time for my 18 year old nephew, M, who’s currently a professed atheist, which isn’t surprising given his upbringing. I ask his heart would be open to the gospel.
