Prayer Requests 7-25-15

Anyone have a request or praise to share?

Psalm 52

¹Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.

The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

  1. We have an extremely busy week coming up, and I won’t be around on here for a while, so would like to request prayers now for two big things coming up early Wednesday morning.

My mom is having back surgery, and my husband will be on the road for several hours that day, helping 2nd Arrow move again. Prayers for safety in travels and surgery, and for good outcomes.

    Thanks. 6 arrows.

  2. Well, what I hoped would be a pretty short errand was complicated by lots of required driving (the Walmart wasn’t all that close to Carol’s residence), bumper to bumper traffic to and fro, and having to traipse (via elevator due to her walker) up and down a couple times from customer service to the lamp department in order to seal the exchange.

I was going to include a stop for a meal, but the afternoon was so long as it was (and I still had a long drive home to make), so no food today — but Carol’s dinner hour was not far away by the time I dropped her off.

I felt so frustrated at one point, as we finally got the back of the “returns” line which snaked outside of the store, I’m afraid I was a bit short. 😦

And I honked at a guy who decided to double park to wait for someone right in the middle of the lane on Vine near Hollywood Boulevard, a really busy area. Several of us were stuck behind him and couldn’t escape for a while. Argh!

I think I had a very unrealistic expectation that this would be a quick errand, not a 5-hour ordeal.

But the lamp has the right shade now & I also brought Carol a backlight I’d picked up this week at the book store as she lost hers and told me the lamp sometimes bothers here roommate who likes to go to sleep at 7 p.m.

And Carol told me she also ordered the application for a handicapped parking placard (yay), so that will help A LOT in getting closer parking spaces wherever we go.

  3. Donna, that Handicapped parking placard will be wonderful. The lady I took to the fabric store had one. She has an oxygen tank so it was good to park close. My friend, Karen, has one, too, since she is on oyygen, too. Bad Atlanta air!

  5. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Sundays and what they mean to Your children. Thank You that You made a special day each week to be set apart for extra time to focus on You and also to get needed rest after days of work. Thank You for those who plan and prepare for worship services so than can be meaningful and show reverence and honor to You.

Lord, 6 Arrows’ family has a very busy week and need Your help to get through it all. Please make a smooth path for he mother’s surgery.May correction be made during the operation so their is no more pain or difficulty in movements. Please keep infection and other complication far away. Give all peace who are waiting to hear how surgery went. Also, please help 6 Arrows’ husband to drive carefully and not do damage to his body by lifting heavy objects in the scheduled move. May everything fit in the new place and all appliances work properly. As they move her in may they feel Your protective presence watching over her new abode while she lives there.

Lord, I also lift up Mumsee’s son who is traveling to China. Thank You for his opportunity to do so. Keep him and all with him safe and healthy. Open his eyes to needs in the world that he may see new ways to help solve problems. I pray he will feel encouraged in knowing more about how You are with him wherever he goes. Help him to be wise in use of spending money. Bless this time away and bring him back home safely. I also ask for continuing blessings upon the Nest and all who live there. Thank You that Mike is more functional now. Please help those who will be trying something new educationally this year. Please give good workable solutions for all. I ask that all will have spiritual and other growth for maturity to where You want them to be at this point in their lives.

You are so good to provide. Help us never fail to give You thanks daily. Thanks, too, for keeping Kare’s home safe in the hail storm. Thanks for keeping my home safe during storms, too.

I pray in the blessed and beloved name of Jesus, Amen

  6. Lee will be having a bone scan on Wednesday. Please pray they find nothing (except healthy bone, of course 🙂 ).

Also, as this Sunday winds down, & we face a new week, Lee & I are both overwhelmed by duties & chores that we are behind on. Life has been so busy lately, & we’ve both let some things slide that need to be attended to soon. Please pray for each of us to have a diligent spirit to accomplish these things, & peace in our hearts to not feel so overwhelmed by them.

Thank you, & God richly bless each one of you.

  7. I feel for you Karen. When I get too overwhelmed it is hard to take that next step. If I may suggest that you set a time for 30 minutes and do as much as you can in that time. Rest for 10 minutes- rest, get something to drink, start again. 30 minutes isn’t as overwhelming as looking at an entire room of stuff that needs to be done.

  8. Kim – I have used the “do a little at a time” method for years. It really helps me accomplish more than I expect to do at the time. And sometimes I get on a roll & just keep going. But knowing I have allowed myself to just do a little bit at a time gets me started.
