Prayer Requests 6-24-15

It’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 25

¹Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O Lord, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O Lord.

Good and upright is the Lord: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11 For thy name’s sake, O Lord, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.

12 What man is he that feareth the Lord? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.

13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.

14 The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.

15 Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.

17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.

18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.

19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.

20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.

21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.

22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.

  1. While I realize that we are in the “honeymoon” phase of BG coming home, I sure am enjoying it. I am so thankful to have her under my roof again. I am also thankful that I have a husband who is so kind and understanding. BG doesn’t realize that he is her biggest advocate. I said 9pm school night curfew. He lobbied for 10pm. I said midnight on the weekend. He said this is the last year we can really guide her. Let her be able to stay out until 1am so she can find out that nothing good happens after midnight while she still has us as a safety net. He has a reward in mind to encourage good grades first quarter of school. Yesterday he called to see if I though we should go ahead and give it to her. I said too much too soon. Let her earn it.

  2. Hello, all. Hope you’re having a nice summer, and are well.

Popping in with a couple of prayer requests, if I may. My mom has been having a lot of trouble with back pain, and was at the ER twice last week, one of those times having been transported by ambulance, as she could hardly get out of bed, and my dad wasn’t able to get her into the car to take her himself. Pray for her, and wisdom for the medical staff as she undergoes tests and various treatments. There’s hardly any medication she can take without getting violently ill, so she refuses most pain meds to avoid the constant throwing up.

And her one physical therapy treatment she’s had so far (one day last week) has made her pain worse. 😦

I would appreciate prayers, too. The pain in my upper left arm comes and goes (mostly depending on whether I play piano or not), but even when I abstain from playing and my arm stops hurting, I notice the upper arm is still misshapen. I don’t know whether it’s a bone or muscle problem, but I’ve finally broken down and decided to see someone about it. The “lump” or whatever it is looks bigger today, and is more noticeable to others now. My appointment is Friday afternoon.

    Thanks.

  3. Kim – I am so very happy for you! You know I know the joy of having a daughter come back home. (Mine came with a bonus – Forrest! 🙂 )

(And I’m still hoping & praying for the return of my “baby” Chrissy, but mostly that she comes back to the Lord.)

  4. From Ligonier Ministries…

“Dr. Sproul and his doctors are encouraged that the brain angioplasty appears to have accomplished its intended purpose. Though he continues to have brain fatigue that can only be relieved by sleeping, his periods of brain energy appear to be lengthening. His speech has improved and he no longer needs to see the speech therapist.

“We have no timeline as to when Dr. Sproul will be able to return to teaching and preaching but are waiting patiently and expectantly for that time. He meets regularly with Chris Larson, president of Ligonier Ministries, and he also meets weekly with Burk Parsons the co-pastor of Saint Andrew’s Chapel. So Dr. Sproul continues his involvement and input to each of these ministries so dear to his heart. Unless something changes, this will likely be our final update on Dr. Sproul’s recovery from his recent health issues.

“Dr. Sproul along with his family are grateful for your prayers, cards, notes and other kindnesses and is eager that we include their thanks to you.”
