This may not belong on R&R, just curious.
I see in the Times-News that NASA is orbiting a satellite around a dwarf planet, named Ceres, between Mars and Jupiter. We used to call them Asteroids.
The thing that amazes me is that a planet that size (they say about the size of Texas) has enough mass (gravity) to hold a spacecraft.in orbit. That thing must be going fast.
😦 Agreed about the time change — nice in the long run, but this one where we ‘lose’ an hour always throws me for several days. And it’s going to be really dark in the mornings again for a while 😦
🙂 On the other hand, I may be able to get the dogs to the dog park here and there for quick, short visits after work. And I can go back to spending a little time sitting on the patio after I get home from work, I enjoyed doing that last year.
😦 Was supposed to pick up my friend in Montebello today to take her to Target out there, but she texted to say she was down with a cold, so she’d have to reschedule. Probably just as well, I’m really tired from sleeping so weirdly last night (was up for a couple hours, then just fell back into a deep sleep when it was time to get up again). So now the only thing on the schedule is a haircut at 10.
🙂 I was having the hardest time lately with my hair, it didn’t have the bounce it normally had — it was fly-away, stringy, I couldn’t do anything with it — when I realized I’d changed shampoos a couple weeks ago. Sure enough, that was the culprit. I went back to my old brand and my hair is back to normal, thankfully.
Frustrating isn’t it Phos?
I am in the process of doing our income tax. I am almost finished. But Social Security hasn’t sent Elvera’s SSA 1099-R. I need that to complete the calculations.
I called SS a week ago yesterday. Still nothing. A trivial thing, but I find myself anxious for the mail every day. I’m going to the downtown office Monday.
I’m not sure they can do anything.
Just frustrating.
😦
Donna, I went to the site, searched on SSA 1099 ( which is what the form says.) I got nothing.
I searched on 1099-R which is what TurboTax calls it. It took me to a site that wants a password.
I will go to the local SS office Monday.
Thanks though.
Evidently they want only authorized people to use it. That’s all I can figure.
42, 48, 56, 58 . . . those are the current predicted highs for the next four days. 🙂 Current temperature 41 degrees.
Yay to snow melt. Finally. It wasn’t as bad as last winter, but it’s at least a couple feet deep in our entire yard except next to buildings, and it has been on the ground constantly since sometime in January. We had a very snowy February, and I’m tired of it.
🙂 Some projects I’ve been working on for months seem to be going well.
🙂 Nobody went into the hospital this week from our family.
🙂 Just in from our HOP (Help Other People) morning at church. Spent 2.5 hours pulling weeds and sweeping at the local tennis courts with good friends. Talking, laughing, working and enjoying the sunny day.
🙂 Third baby born off my pregnant mama list today. All good and healthy and moms look great.
🙂 Trip falling into place.
🙂 Counting the cost on another writing project. We’ll see.
😦 We could use rain. Lots of rain, even if it does flood my yard.
😦 Rose bush thorns
🙂 Sweet smell of roses
🙂 Church tomorrow
🙂 Saddle blanket on tv (that is not the name of a new program)
🙂 Friends got 3rd kitten
😦 Tax season overload for husband
😦 Lose an hour during tax season
🙂 Beautiful day here
🙂 🙂 God is good & in control for eternity
I grew roses in Annandale. The soil and other conditions were good for them.
Roses are beautiful, but they take lots of attention.
I have often likened them to women,
Lots of trouble, but well worth it.
😉
😦 I guess I need to dust. I’ve occasionally seen one of those big “crane” insects flying through my living room today with a dust-bunny hanging off of him. He’s struggling to stay airborne with all that extra weight. I tried to snatch it off of him, but missed. Poor guy.
😦 we will have to bring Mama home this week and go back to taking care of her there. Because she is owner of a small business they say she owns too much to get Medicaid so we can not afford to keep her in a community.
🙂 We were able to keep in there during the bad weather and when everyone had the flu.
😦 So much bad luck lately we are convince that someone in the family ticked off a Gypsy.
It’s a brand called Shikai — I use 2 different ones, “color reflect – warm” and “highlighting” formulas, both has a little henna in them. I’ve been buying them at Sprouts where I do much of my quick on-the-way-home grocery pit stops these days.
I picked up the Pantene because I used to use that brand and thought a change might be good for my hair. Oh well. Back to the Shikai, which really is a nice shampoo, very natural I think, without a lot of those chemicals that can weigh your hair down.
I love Shikai. I use their natural moisturizing shampoo, and it’s about the only kind I can use for an extended period without having my hair be all flat and yucky.

chas, I have no idea what that form is, but it looks like you can just print it from the online site? Snail mail takes, well, forever anymore …

I would like to watch an otter, from a distance.
Roses: my husband likes me to keep my roses in the rose garden due to the thorns. But we have several locusts and they all have thorns…

That could explain some things, though, as my roses get very little attention.
