I was just talking to God about my knee hurting. Then I read this request. Will include all today with knee ailments, my friend who had knee surgery, too. Hope I.M. feels better after the shot!
Mr. P and I spent the afternoon shopping and taking care of last minute Christmas things. We had lunch and shopped. When we left one shopping center and went to another his cell phone rang. It was oldest son. We sat in the parking lot for a long time while they talked.
Oldest Son suffers from severe PTSD. When he was in Afghanistan he had a non military woman in his care. There was an attack and she was killed. He feels responsible. He told his dad he was at the end of his rope. There was more to the conversation, but I will retain that privacy.
Luckily when Mr P was in the Navy he was in the medical end of things. He has helped screen soldiers and tell them that “it’s OK not to be OK”. Having battled depression myself, I understand that sometimes you just can’t help how you feel. You ARE at the end of your rope.
I was impressed with how Mr. P handled the conversation. This is the son who has gifted us with a grandson and a new granddaughter. They need to grow up with their father– a healthy father. We even discussed tonight that if Dad needs to go be with Son and help him get the help he needs that we will find a way and make it work.
Please join me in praying for R; that he can battle the “demons” inside and that he will be willing to go for help. Please also pray for his sweet wife who is only 3 weeks post-partum ( and ladies you know how that can be). She doesn’t need to be dealing with this right now with a new baby and a 2 year old. Dad and Stepmother are worried.
Kim my heart aches for your son….please know we will be praying for him, the family and for wisdom and direction to be given to you and Mr P from our beautifully caring Lord ❤
I had a migraine last night and feel very “hungover” today (lethargic, queasy, a little sad and just not right) (And, no, I didn’t actually drink any alcohol, but sometimes feel this way after a migraine. According to my neurologist, it has something to do with the severe drop in Serotonin which precedes a migraine..). Prayers, please, for a speedy recovery.
Again asking prayers for my Lee. He is living in a state of exhaustion, & worried about our financial situation (he says we need a financial miracle). I wish he could be able to have time every now & then to relax & enjoy the Christmas season, like maybe enjoying a cup of eggnog, & watching a Christmas movie. But he just doesn’t have time for that.
Thankful for online shopping, which is how I (who don’t drive) was able to get our Christmas shopping done.
One good thing has happened. Remember a couple or so weeks ago, I mentioned he thought there might be a problem with his bread truck’s transmission? Well, it turned out not to be that, but to be something not-too-expensive to fix. Lee was so very relieved!
Karen: I can drive, but hate to shop (I get physically nervous in enclosed spaces with huge crowds, and flourescent lights really bother me, so I avoid shopping malls and Walmart during December), so do about 90% of my shopping online. I have Amazon Prime, so I have free two day shipping for almost anything I could want. And, many other stores have free shipping right now, so I rarely pay to ship.
Husband is off to southern Idaho for his shot in the knee. Prayer for him and for those of us remaining behind. Just the nine of us. Thanks.

That was a good first step that he was willing to talk openly with his dad. Praying.

Ann – Thank you for your prayers. I’ve been praying for you & your family, too.
Lee has an Amazon Prime account, which I use. Can’t get much more convenient than that!
