Prayer Requests 12-3-14

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget the Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 147

¹Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

The Lord doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.

Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.

The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.

Sing unto the Lord with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.

10 He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

11 The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

12 Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.

13 For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.

14 He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.

15 He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.

16 He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.

17 He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?

18 He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

19 He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.

20 He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. Please continue to pray for the salvation of my three brothers: Matt, Mike and Jim.
And, for strength and health for my sister, Linda.

New request: My neighbor and friend, Cindy, has been dealing with many medical issues for over a year. She is in a lot of pain and fears she will need surgery again soon (she just had major surgery three weeks ago…). She has two elementary age kids and it’s hard on the family unit for her to be bedridden. She gave her heart to Jesus at the tender age of four and never looked back. Fortunately, she has a lot of support from her loving, wonderful parents, but the severity of her pain is taking a toll.

  2. On the Gambia: Today meetings start at headquarters discussing the future of the Gambia ministry. Many of the field workers have returned for these meetings. The team is not gaining any new recruits, health problems plague several of those who are currently on the team, and the retirement of one family is rapidly approaching. You have seen the film on the Literacy Centre and I have talked about the work done in the clinic. It would be a great loss to have to close either, but they need help. Pray for wisdom in the discussion, and that God would guide them to make the right decisions.

Mumsee, are you on an antibiotic to bring down the infection? Praying the pain will subside quickly.

  4. Please pray for me. I am feeling very down.

Without going into details…My husband said something very hurtful to me tonight. It’s not just something that can be quickly forgiven & forgotten (although I will forgive), because it involves an ongoing feeling (of his), & it cannot be resolved. It hurts deeply to know he feels this way.

  5. Praying for you, Karen, despite the spaying comment. We do tend to be most hurt by the ones we love and who love us. But often, over time, things learned and the relationship grows.
