What’s interesting in the news today?
1. I was just thinkin’ this would be the perfect guy to invite to the White House to discuss how to work with the GOP. 🙄
From Mediaite “There’s obvious and then there’s painfully obvious. And in the case of Al Sharpton declaring that Tuesday’s resounding defeat for his party was not the fault of an unpopular president nor inept candidates, but of Hillary and Bill Clinton, it’s painfully obvious where the activist/host/liaison is getting his marching orders are coming from:
Valerie Jarrett.
As he’s enjoyed mentioning in the past, Sharpton has a direct line to the White House. He’s visited numerous times, trades daily emails with Ms. Jarrett. So when the Democrats went down in flames three days ago, guess who President Obama met with the next day? Not Mitch McConnell, not John Boehner, not DNC Chairwoman (for now) Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Instead, it’s was MSNBC’s ratings — challenged 6:00 p.m. host (along with other civil rights leaders), a White House official had confirmed. On the docket–because Sharpton is obviously an expert in all of these things — was Obamacare implementation, education and criminal justice. Speaking of criminal (in)justice, just what is Tawana Brawley up to these days?
Per the White House communication team: “The President also highlighted how we are looking forward to working with the leaders over the next two years to advance these and other crucial issues facing the country.”
It appears Sharpton must have been in the bathroom during the whole working-with-other-leaders part, as he proceeded to stage an upside down protest (seen here) of Republicans on his show yesterday.”

2. Also over at MSNBC they have decided that the reason Democrats lost so bad is because they didn’t dumb down their message enough for you stupid voters.
From NewsBusters “Appearing as a panelist on the November 6 Hardball, liberal talk show host Joe Madison offered his assessment for why Democrats lost the 2014 midterms: Liberals, being the intellectuals they are, talk above the heads of the average voter, rather than communicating their ideas in an accessible manner for the layman to understand. They need to “put it where the goats can get it,” as Madison’s grandfather would say.
Madison made his comments as part of a panel discussion in which Hardball host Chris Matthews lamented how Democrats, including Barack Obama, have not sold the American public on the economic rebound happening under the president’s watch.”

3. Stop me if you’ve heard this joke before…..
From TheDailyCaller “Bassem Masri hates the police, or “pigs” as he calls them. He supports the terrorist group Hamas and he hoped for Joan Rivers to “burn in hell” after her recent death because of the opinions she expressed about the ongoing fight between Israel and the Palestinians.
This is the man that the Department of Justice invited to a meeting to provide input on police reforms following the police shooting death of Michael Brown on Aug. 9.”
“He does not make clear which DOJ meeting he attended, but the timing coincides with a two-day event being held by the agency’s Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) division.
The stated goal of that meeting, which was closed to the press, is to “build trust and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the communities they serve is the first of several regional collaborative reform trainings on law enforcement strategies and best practices.””
Was he Sharpton approved?

4. Not surprising.
From DefenseOne “Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel has just a 26 percent approval rating among individuals currently serving within the national security community, according to findings from a new survey commissioned by Defense One.
The findings come as scrutiny on the Obama administration’s handling of the war in Iraq and Syria grows. At the same time, a variety of media reports hint that President Barack Obama, himself trailing in the polls after a poor showing for the Democrats in Tuesday’s election, is considering a shake-up of his national security staff. That could include Hagel.
The “Defense One National Security Survey” released Friday found few individuals inside the national security government think highly of the Obama administration’s national security strategy. The survey found that only 4 percent of respondents “strongly agree” and 16 percent “agree” that the White House has “a clear national security strategy.” Conversely, 73 percent of respondents disagreed or strongly disagreed with that statement.”

5. They haven’t learned a thing. They continue to use the IRS and DoJ against political enemies.
From Examiner.com “In the midst of the ongoing investigation of the alleged Internal Revenue Services (IRS) and Department of Justice (DOJ) collusion in targeting conservative and Tea Party organizations for added scrutiny when applying for tax-exempt status, a source in one of the DOJ’s law enforcement agencies claims the IRS and DOJ are both probing the finances of members of one of the nation’s wealthiest families. Their alleged crime? Financially supporting what are considered conservative causes and Republican organizations.
To many Americans who follow the political scene in the U.S., not a day goes by without some Democrat or liberal-left pundit throwing out the name “Koch Brothers” as if it’s a proven fact that they are criminal conspirators of sorts. But according to a law enforcement source who contacted the Examiner, Democrat lawmakers – many of whom are the same Senators and House members who pushed for the IRS to target groups such as True the Vote – have secretly contacted both IRS and DOJ officials to scrutinize the philanthropic activities of the two multi-billionaires.
Thanks to soon-to-be-former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, the Democratic Party alone spent millions of dollars insinuating illegal ties between Republicans and the ultra-wealthy Charles and David Koch. The strategy of vilifying to two men is even starting to bother some Democrats especially when Sen. Reid told friendly news media outlets that even after his party’s drubbing he planned to continue his pursuit of exposing the evil Koch (pronounced coke) brothers, Charles and David.
In one of the most hypocritical moves, David Brock who runs the left-wing web site Media Matters, has openly said he was going to pursue the Koch’s spending into the 2016 election. This exercise in hypocrisy seems lost on the Democrats since Media Matters would cease to exist without the deep pockets of multi-billionaire and Republican-hater George Soros.”

I am happy to report that most of Texas has been cleared of the enemy. The remaining socialists are pinned down in a handful of cities.

If you notice the red/blue maps often shown on FoxNews, the Democrat strength is in the cities. There are no Democrats in real America.

From N. Y. Post, via Drudge:
Cynthia and Robert Gifford are caught in a same-sex nightmare. They’ve been forced to defend themselves against claims that they’re lesbian-hating homophobes.
“We respect and care for everyone!’’ Cynthia Gifford told me. “We had an openly gay man working for us this past season,’’ she said.
“We’ve had a woman who’s transitioning to be a man. We don’t discriminate against anyone.’’
But the government of the state of New York sees things differently. The Giffords, who own the bucolic Liberty Ridge Farm in upstate New York, were ordered to pay a total of $13,000 — a $10,000 fine to the state and another $1,500 to each member of a lesbian couple to compensate them for “mental anguish.’’ All because the Giffords, devout Christians, refused to hold a same-sex wedding ceremony on the property on which they live, work and have raised a daughter, 17, and a son, 21
I can remember when America was a free country. I wonder what would happen if they refuse to pay it?i

Chas, I’ve heard a great way to combat that. If you own a small business and find yourself being force to do a same-sex wedding against your beliefs just tell the “couple” “I don’t want to do this but if you force me to, be aware that all profits from your wedding will go directly to Focus on the Family.”
kBells.

In the state of MN there was also a hunting lodge who was fined several thousand. The money went to give the gay couple their wedding elsewhere. The lodge owners apologized for not knowing the law and it seems they will now do weddings for SS couples, even though they are not for SSM. The SS couple were very glad that now other businesses would be afraid to deny services to SS couples. So much for freedom.

The US is no longer the “land of the free”. That part of our National Anthem is a lie. When I first posted this on Facebook, I was amazed at the number of people who agreed, saying they had to be very careful about what they said at work or they could lose their jobs. The strongest commitment of the US is to perversion. The second strongest is to preservation of racial preferences and the welfare state.

I’m wondering why I haven’t heard anything on this site about what seems to me like a fairly egregious example of people being persecuted for putting their Christian faith into action coming out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, last week.
Seems that 90 year old Arnold Abbot, along with pastors Dwayne Black of The Sanctuary Church, and Mark Sims of St. Mary Magdalene Episcopal Church are facing up to 60 days in jail, and $500 in fines. For feeding the homeless.
It’s amazing to me that I don’t see people here calling for support for these men, as they exercise their faith and charity, and help the poorest of the poor in their city.

“”As long as there is breath in my body.”
The determined 90-year-old Florida activist who was busted twice for feeding the homeless vowed Sunday to continue his efforts despite a possible jail sentence.
“We will continue as long as there is breath in my body,” Arnold Abbott told the Sun-Sentinel.
Abbott avoided the wrath of cops on Sunday by feeding the homeless indoors, at a local church in Fort Lauderdale. A new city ordinance forbids anyone from feeding the homeless in public.”
Stupid, overbearing laws do nothing to help anyone. Mr. Abbott on the other hand is, and I hope he would continue to do so. If a more appropriate venue is in order, then the city should pointing out where and if it’s a public facility, they should help secure it. But then they would be breaking the law about feeding in public, wouldn’t they?

While I agree with Putin on many things, he’s still a KGB bred commie dirtbag who’s wrong on so much more. He’s not exactly an ally of Christians, it’s just worked out that way in some cases. A stopped clock being right twice a day, if you will. (His 2 being the proliferation of western led degeneracy, and radical Islam.) But make no mistake, given the chance he would grind Christians under too if it suited his purposes. Or if they dared question his power.

Putin is an authoritarian. He is also a politician. He is also the leader of a corrupt state.
However, he has:
1. Rebuilt churches destroyed by the communists.
2. Taken an incredibly brave and politically correct stand against Organized Perversion.
3. Been the primary voice to protect the Church in the Middle East after the West created chaos and persecution for the church in Iraq, Syria, and Egypt.
4. Formed and led a group of traditionalist nations in the UN who are now fighting against the use of UN agencies by the US and the perverted West to spread and promote abortion, perversion and radical feminism around the world.
5. This may seem odd to Americans given the actions of our last two presidents, but Putin consistently pursues a foreign policy that is in his own nation’s best interest.
6. He works very closely with and is greatly influenced by the Russian Orthodox Church. This church is not perfect, but it does seem to have avoided the modernist heresies that have afflicted Protestantism and the doctrinal errors and pedophilia that have plagued the Catholics.
A neutral observer would have to conclude that Putin is a better friend of the Church than Obama or any other Western leader.

On item 2 that should be “politically incorrect” though his stance is popular with the Russians. May God bless them.

There is another side of the feeding the homeless story. Some former members of our church liked to take youth to feed the homeless in violation of a Fort Worth ordinance.
Here are some facts. Many cities have limited feeding the homeless to certain areas, near shelters. The shelters provide food, but require the homeless to be sober in order to be fed. Many of the homeless prefer to be drunk or high and get food from naive Christians who are violating the law and enabling the homeless to stay drunk or high. These misguided Christians often feed the homeless (in violation of the law) in parks in residential areas. The ordinances are designed to keep drunken or drugged bums away from children and residential areas.
