Prayer Requests 8-21-14

It’s Thursday, so please remember to pray for Jo and the folks in PNG.

Anyone else have something they’d like to share?

Psalm 52

¹Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? The goodness of God endureth continually.

The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.

Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.

The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.

But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

  1. Michelle, don’t bother looking into the mirror. It has no consequence today. I’m just glad you’re feeling better. That’s what matters at this point.

  2. Ouch. Glad that was all the damage from the medicine, Michelle. I am more and more reluctant to try new drugs and pay attention to WHEN I do. Glad you had your knight in shining armor to give aid!

  3. I know I’m being silly, being a worried mama, but…Emily & Forrest went camping for four days, Monday through today. Lee texted her yesterday to see how they were doing, & she hasn’t replied.

Rationally, I figure her battery died, or she doesn’t get good reception at the campsite. But you know how we mamas are.

They’re supposed to be home this afternoon. I’ve been enjoying the quiet (& the not being interrupted a lot by a certain little person), but I do miss them. I went upstairs & straightened up the rooms, & also cleaned much of the kitchen (mostly where it looked like it needed it) & the vanity & toilet in the bathroom.

  4. Michelle, glad you got that figured out and were not more seriously injured.

KI, my knight in shining armor refers to himself as my knight in rusty armor. I am his dame in distress.

Karen O, praying with you but often camping does not include cell service.

Here at the Nest, one sixteen year old has been quite ill. I hope he did not get chicken pox from my shingles. They have all been vaccinated and three have had it. Anyway, he has a bad headache, high fever comes and goes, and stomach issues. Sounds like a norovirus. This too shall pass. Prayer that he feels better soon and it does not spread. Thanks.

Praise that husband gets home tomorrow for ten days!

  5. Looked in the mirror. Oh, my! Bruising is starting from under the jaw (looks like I have half a goatee!)and now the cheek is turning colors of the rainbow.

Fortunately, it only hurts when I laugh (really!), or stretch my face. Have thought about stopping in so the doctor can see what I look like, but really, why frighten the man? 🙂

I’m just thankful nothing seems damaged except my looks and–such as they are–they’ll return to normal.

Thanks for praying. I have much to be thankful for, every single day. And the 1/2 table of the meds I took last night with dinner presented no problem at all. Thanks be to God. 🙂

  6. Mumsee, our oldest son (age 32) was diagnosed with chicken pox this summer. The doc said it was the fourth case he’d seen that week. Son had them when he was younger so we wondered if maybe there was some sort of mutated version of it going around. His 20-month-old daughter, who’d been vaccinated, got a very mild case along with him.

  7. My understanding is that a mild case in the young years can come back later. But I tend to lean more toward the mutated version.

In whooping cough, which Idaho is high with due to lack of vaccinations mostly, it is attributed to vaccinations that do not last as long as they thought they would.

Maybe it is time to isolate the Nest. But the bathroom trips would indicate something else is going around too.
