Prayer Requests 7-12-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share this weekend?

Psalm 15

¹Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

  1. I’ll be all day at the computer and the table tearing apart and rewriting 1/3 of the book. The Lord has been good in the past, and I ask for the same “intervention” for his book today. Thanks.

  2. I am feeling rather down today so lift up prayers would be appreciated. Son’s b/d is 2morrow but won’t get to see him.

Sunday school cco-teacher is moving. Very sad for me, but happy her husband found needed work opportunity.

Not yet hearing on anything I have submitted. Sometimes a reject is better than nothing because it is encouragement to work harder or find a new subject.

  3. A bird just hit the window while Bosley was resting in my lap. Bosley leapt at the bird and knocked over my half cup of tea. Mostly she still tries daily to get a whiff of my tea by edging in close to the cup. But then there are days like today when she gets to have a sip. I suppose a taste of English Breakfast Tea (Twinnings) is a consolation prize for not getting the bird. 😦

Probably should be posting on Rants and Raves instead. But you get the gist of how things are going today. Prayers, please, for me to feel light-hearted and fully trusting in God. I do feel best when I am in His word.

  4. I think I am feeling spiritual warfare today. It is real work some days to work the faith muscles that need to grow stronger.

The thought occurred to me that my struggle is trusting that God’s goodness and love is greater than human badness and hatred. It goes along with that verse in Hebrews about faith. “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen.” I think that is how the verse goes. I can look around the world and watch the news and see the badness and hatred oppressing people, especially Christians, and my heart knows God is working it all for good for those who believe, but my mind wants to just focus on what I see with my eyes.

Please, Lord, I ask that You would give us extra glimpses of Your goodness and love against the evil and wickedness in the world. Please help the persecuted Christians to feel Your presense taking the burdens of pain and suffering off of them. You have been known to give supernatural releases from prisons. If it might be within Your will, I ask You would help some imprisoned Christians that way this day.

Lord, please help Michelle with the piecing together again of her story. Give her fresh vision, Your sense of what is worthy to remain for Your use in the hearts of readers, and give her physical, mental, and emotional stamina to get through the burdens of today. Bless her efforts not only for this project but also to help her with her future writings.

Please bless all at the nest, and help Mike with whatever regimen the doc decides will be best.

Please, Abba, I ask You to bless my son in a special way for his birthday tomorrow. Please may the cards we sent arrive today. Thank You for the blessing of good grades You gave for his Latin classes.

    In Jesus’ name,
    Amen

  5. You’re a gift to us, Janice. Hope your day begins to go better — I already noticed some uplift in your last post. Focusing on God and his word is always our first (and often only needed) step. Prayers for you today.

And no more bird slams or spilt tea …

    Happy birthday to your son.

  6. I would appreciate prayer as I am going on another day trip. This one is to Goroka in the Highlands. The roads are very bad and can be quite dangerous. About 1 1/2 hours away, we are leaving at 6am and will return by 6pm, so as to make the trip in daylight. I am not sure who else is going. The drive is through beautiful hills and there is a safe hotel to relax in during the day.

  7. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for praying friends who have lifted me up in prayer. I do feel better today.

Please give Jo and traveling companions safety on the roads. May the enjoy the beauty of Your creation and peaceful relaxation that can sometimes be elusive.

Please continue to help Kim on all that packs her agenda. Help her to see You. In complete control through the whole moving process. I ask for Your sense of peace that passes all understanding would envelope her when she starts to feel overwhelmed.

Please continue to bless Karen O and family in their times of continuing trial. Energize them for excelling in whatever work You place before them. Help Lee to feel Your guidance on the path You have been working out for his future.

Lord, please continue to bless Michelle as she gets closer to recognition of her current goal. Thank You that we do get to know the joy of completed and successful projects. Keep her steady on track with fruitful breaks to recharge her batteries. Bless her husband for the support he gives as needed.

Thank You for past, present and future answers to our many prayers. We never know exactly how You will answer, but we know the answer is carefully determined by You for the best outcome.

    In Jesus’ name, Amen

  8. What a blessing to join in prayer with others! Thank you, Janice, among others who post prayers and pray.

I would appreciate prayer myself. My dad is in the hospital again for pneumonia. That is not unusual. It is a family member who makes things much more difficult, though, that is the reason for my asking for prayer. I don’t want to go beyond that. Thanks again to those who pray.
