Prayer Requests 6-13-14

Anyone have a request or praise to share?

And it’s Friday, so don’t forget the folks at The Nest. 🙂

Psalm 140

¹Deliver me, O Lord, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man;

Which imagine mischiefs in their heart; continually are they gathered together for war.

They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders’ poison is under their lips. Selah.

Keep me, O Lord, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings.

The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah.

I said unto the Lord, Thou art my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O Lord.

O God the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle.

Grant not, O Lord, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest they exalt themselves. Selah.

As for the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

10 Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again.

11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

12 I know that the Lord will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.

13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence.

  1. Another busy week coming to a close here at the Nest. Last day of VBS for the younger folk and then a library visit after the barbecue. Sixteen year old left at four thirty to get to her CNA duties forty five minutes from here. Fifteen and sixteen boys left to be at their morning job of four hours a day, taking down fences, spraying weeds, weed eating, basic farm hands. The seventeen girl and seventeen boy are helping with VBS and then go to their afternoon jobs, another four to six hours a day. The girl a lifeguard and the boy works with the other two boys at the auto doc, detailing cars and combines and everything else as well as just odd jobs about town.

Two more weeks of baseball and next week we will have house guests the first four days, then head down to Boise to watch sixteen year old graduate from the youth challenge. Husband will be here for that.

Meantime, six year old and I set out some cucumber plants we had growing in the house, and some eggplant and mouse melon. We have not tried mouse melon before so she is excited to see what comes of it.

Prayer that we will keep our focus on serving God as we keep busy. Prayer for hearts to prepare as sixteen year old rejoins the family after graduation. It will take some getting used to. I don’t know if the employers will be wanting him to join in the fun, if he will find his own job, or if he will be hanging out with me and the little folk. Wisdom.
