Continue praying for the family next door who lost their husband/dad unexpectedly his past weekend, one of the sons was picked up last night by paramedics at the house and it sounds like the other one is having issues as well.
And prayers, still, for my church friend Norma, 82, who has a cat scan scheduled for next Wednesday. I’m worried it’s something serious.
Rough start to the day — somewhat with 10-year-old boy, extremely so with 6-year-old girl. They’re off running errands with their dad right now (and an older sister to help out if things go awry); I’m hoping the excursion will mellow out the youngest one.
Rough start to the day was apparently one of those “got up on the wrong side of the bed” instances that was only a temporary problem. The excursion with hubby went, in his words, “so-so”, but it did help toward making the rest of the day go fine.
You are beyond what we can know and understand concerning Your depths of goodness and love. You are the ultimate grand mystery of all our lives. How You loved us even as sinners that You could not even get close to because of the repulsion of sin in us and clinging to us. You found a Way to overcome that separation through the blood of Jesus. His life giving blood flowed out of Him and over our sins. Thank You for all that means that I don’t fully understand. Help me to learn to live fully, abundandly, as Your beloved adopted child outfitted for Your kingdom. Thank You for mercy, grace and love that spills over from me to others. Help me to see the needs of people as Jesus sees them.
Lord, I pray for the neighbors of Donna who are suffering. The grief of losing a family member is tangled up and compounded by other issues. I lift them all to You for an untangling of the knots so Your love can prevail. Please comfort and meet the needs of each individual and the family group as a whole.
Please, Lord, bless Norma with the sense of Your presence carrying her through this rough spell of life. You will not drop her as You carry her through. You are omnipotent, stronger and more reliable than any imagined superhero. May she fully trust and rely on her. Please show her how to let go of fear and rest in Your love.
Lord, please help Madison with her needs this day as she recovers from surgery. I ask You also meet the needs of her family as their stress load is substantial.
Lord, if it is Your will I pray my son will get the on campus job for the summer. Please, Lord, but You know the whole situation of all who interviewed. Maybe someone else has greater need or would have experience better matched to the work. Thank You that he was selected for the interview. That was encouragement in itself.
Thank You for letting Michelle learn to trust more fully in You and Your guidance on her big writing project. You are awesome in the ways You have of giving ideas and supernatural helps. Thank You for the blessing of knowing Michelle during this time of growth in her life. Than You that she has a supportive husband. Please always keep her children inYour good care when destructive forces may be in their midst. Help all those students touched by the Santa Barbara shootings.
Please bless Donna with steady recouperation from her bronchitis. Ease her coughing spells. Help her quickly to regain strength.
Thank You for Peter getting finished with the school year. Help his family with their selling and buying of a home.
Please meet the needs of Jo for good transportation, safety, health and close friendships. Bless all the children over the summer with retention of what they learned through Jo.
Thank You for 6 Arrows continuing dedication to homeschooling. Some days are just hard and feel like little got accomplished. But You piece together all the days of homeschooling to make and overall good outcome. Thank You for how You manage that!
I love You, Abba. You loved me first. Such goodness I hope to always imitate as I encounter people who at times by human standards appear as unloveable. Help me to transcend human standards to live by Your standards. In Jesus’ name, Amen
