😦 My husband has had several weeks of taxing over-exertion a couple days a week. This is something he physically cannot handle.
😦 Last night’s example is that Misten somehow got out again. This is NOT good, since it probably means she got out over the part of the fence that is short enough that she actually could go over it even without snow, if she realized it. She’s nine and we’ve lived here for more than two years without her discovering that, so I thought we were safe. How to give her full run of the backyard (which she loves) without giving her full run of the neighborhood may now become tricky–especially between now and whenever the rest of the snow melts, which is probably going to be a matter of weeks, not hours or days. (It’s supposed to get up to 42 today, so we’ll get more melting, but aftrer that Tuesday March 3 is the next “scheduled” date above freezing, at 37 . . . and that’s just too far away for any accurate predictions.) Anyway, my husband had to lift her three times, including lifting her over fences twice, wading in knee-deep crusty snow. At 60 pounds and long, lifting her over anything is a lot.
🙂 Our younger daughter asked to take him out to breakfast. He said he doesn’t know if she wants to talk to him or just spend time with him, and I said either is good. (Well, as long as the talking is just touching base and not some hideous revelation like she wants a full-body tattoo. But she’s a good girl.)
🙂 😦 I’m a little overwhelmed with work right now, with projects that aren’t exactly pleasant. It’s good to have a nice start to the work year, income wise (as we head into my busy season between now and June or July), but I’d rather have at least one of the projects wait a few weeks, and I’d rather have the more “fun” one I almost got than all tedious ones.
🙂 For two or three days this week, a robin visited the tree right behind our deck and stripped its berries.
😦 Yesterday a couple dozen starlings came repeatedly to our bird feeders and suet feeders. I chased them off several times, and then we just took the feeders down. I don’t mind one or two coming every few days (which is what we’ve had all winter), but we didn’t hang the bird feeders so that starlings can peck each other’s eyes out on our suet feeder, eat all the food, and keep other birds away.
😦 After having missed nearly every service this year due to snow and ice or illness, my husband and I went to church Sunday but left before Sunday school, since neither of us was feeling well. I’m quite tired of missing church.
🙂 We did get to see people for a church gathering during the week, and most of us stayed a couple hours afterward just to talk. Much needed.

( Hurting people’s feelings. I just hate when I do that. I really hate when I do it and don’t realize it until I see the hurt in their eyes. Apologies don’t seem to be enough. Thank the Lord real forgiveness is available for us!
😦 Snow and cold. Over nine new inches for us. Now the cold will be coming again. -45 degree wind chills on the day I have an appointment.
🙂 It is beautiful outside and the sun is shining.
🙂 Finished sewing a computer case. Several things went wrong and I had to make some changes to the pattern. However, it came out very nice. Only I will see the errors, for the most part. I was able to make it buying nothing new, except the pattern and stabilizer material. I even recycled a couple of zippers. My husband was the one who liked the sample when we saw it. I had just two words for him when I finished it: “Never again!” Now, on to some more relaxing, fun projects.
😦 Family members who make things some much more difficult than they should be. Those who want to waste valuable time arguing. Those who put others down, while trumpeting that they are one who does not judge others, is kind, does not bully etc.

Idid’t follow the Olympics at all.
Do you know that the Olympics was the ancient Greek calendar?
They would say “fifth monthj of the third year of the fourteenth olympiad”. So somesuch.
Last week was a tough week, but had some bright spots, too.
😦 For one thing, on Friday, Lee woke up with his lower back on the right side aching badly (it had been aching for a few days). Then at work, after loading all the bread products onto his truck, he found that it wouldn’t start. He had to start all over, loading all the product onto a loaner truck.
He called home early in the morning to ask if Emily could come out & work with him for the day, to help make up some of the lost time. Of course, she said she would. But that meant that I had to babysit on what I thought was a day off. (Yes, I know that was selfish of me to feel bad about babysitting, but I was not feeling well.)
They didn’t get home until around 5:00p.m. (Lee had started work around 1:30a.m.) Some of that time included having the truck towed, & then picking it up at the end of the day.
🙂 The only problem with the truck was that it needed a new battery.
🙂 Also at the end of the day, Lee’s back, which had been getting worse each day, had stopped hurting! (Yes, we were praying for healing.) 🙂
😦 I haven’t been feeling well for the past few days, but was babysitting for a lot of that time, & feel quite worn out & tired. Looking forward to having “time off” until Wednesday, but then Lee & Emily decided she should work with him tomorrow because Monday has turned into a long day for him.
🙂 *Someone* called to make plans for LG (Little Guy) to spend the night tonight, & go to one of his favorite places tomorrow. So, I would be able to rest tomorrow after all.
😦 Someone called back & cancelled, having made different plans.
karen, we learned a long time ago to not tell the little ones of “plans” for them as they so often fell through. So many parents out there don’t realize the pain to the little people when they are told they are going to “go see daddy” or “go see mommy” only to have daddy or mommy change his or her mind.
We often keep it from him if there’s a doubt. But he often hears his mommy’s side of a phone conversation & figures it out. I don’t think he knew about this one, though. And his other grandmother took him swimming at the “Y”, so he had fun with her.
🙂 I was able to share my view with you all! Thanks, Aj.
