Prayer Requests 10-18-13

Who can we pray for today?

Psalm 64

¹Hear my voice, O God, in my prayer: preserve my life from fear of the enemy.

Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:

Who whet their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows to shoot their arrows, even bitter words:

That they may shoot in secret at the perfect: suddenly do they shoot at him, and fear not.

They encourage themselves in an evil matter: they commune of laying snares privily; they say, Who shall see them?

They search out iniquities; they accomplish a diligent search: both the inward thought of every one of them, and the heart, is deep.

But God shall shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.

So they shall make their own tongue to fall upon themselves: all that see them shall flee away.

And all men shall fear, and shall declare the work of God; for they shall wisely consider of his doing.

10 The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and shall trust in him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

  1. Requesting prayers for myself, that I would be kind and loving in my interactions today, despite lack of sleep and other issues. More details on daily thread. Thanks. ~6 arrows

  3. Update on my dad’s cardiology appointment earlier this week: The technician reported today that Dad’s echocardiogram showed normal blood flow into and out of his heart. Everything looks clean and good, Mom said. His 24-hour heart rhythm testing results are not back yet, but they believe everything is fine with that, too. He will have a follow-up visit next month with his regular doctor. Thank you for the prayers.

  4. Another prayer request — we have a family gathering this weekend, and my sister and her husband and children who live the farthest away from the gathering location have begun their journey today. Prayers appreciated for safe travel for them today and tomorrow. Thank you.

  5. prayers for us please. The three emotionally challenged have been having screaming fits the past couple of days. The neighbor called today to ask if everything was okay. She was worried I had fallen and broken something and one of the children was screaming for help. She was just mad. The daughter, not the neighbor.

  6. That is hard on the nerves, mumsee. My sympathies and prayers.

I would appreciate continuing prayer for my dad. He has two of the worst infections to have, apparently. They are trying to pinpoint why he keeps getting infections. He has to go off some important drugs that actually keep him being able to swallow, so it is all very unpleasant. The medical staff is amazed at how well he does, in spite of all he has wrong. He would rather die, than suffer, but in this case, it seems he may need to suffer some to actually feel better in the long run. Please pray for his peace and comfort and for the wisdom of everyone.

I find it frustrating as I am off babysitting grandchildren and not near the family. There is really nothing I can do anyway, but it still doesn’t feel good. I do have siblings near them and helping out. I am enjoying being with the grandchildren, however. Tomorrow I will be joined by two more and another one of my daughters. We will take in a play my son-in-law is in, which takes place in an historic mansion. All prayers for both my mom and dad will be appreciated.

  7. Praying for the above requests!

Prayers, please, for my nephew, Stephen. He is 17, very intelligent and a professed atheist. Today is the last day of a spiritual renewal week at his boarding school in Kenya. Please pray his eyes would be opened to the truth and that he would place his trust in Jesus. The event ends in a few hours…
