Prayer Requests 10-9-13

Who can we pray for today?

And it’s Wednesday, so please remember to pray for Gambia. 🙂

Psalm 54

¹Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

For strangers are risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. Selah.

Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

He shall reward evil unto mine enemies: cut them off in thy truth.

I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O Lord; for it is good.

For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and mine eye hath seen his desire upon mine enemies.

  1. Heavenly Father,

You are perfection. We can look to You and Your word to to know without doubt the best way for us to live on an individual level as well as corporately. Help each of us here to daily strive to live within the framework of laws You have given along with the Christian love Jesus prescribes for each of us to bestow upon our friends and even our enemies. We are called by You to extreme love as You first showed us. You made the Way through Jesus so we have His perfect example. Forgive us in our failings to live up to His example. Help. Us as we struggle and stumble. Please set us upright when we fall off the planned good path You made for each of us before we were even conceived. Thank You for bringing us together here so we can encourage and edify each other through Christian love.

Lord, You see the sinkhole our nation has been sucked into in the deceptive name of hope and change. Do You have a way out of this mess for us? It looks bleak from our perspective down here. We accept Your sovereignty and know You are in control with full authority over all nations and leaders and unseen principalities. May You receive the glory You deserve through all that is happening. Please keep Your children faithful in the midst of turbulent times. Thank You for the witness of persecuted Christians such as Pastor Saeed Abidini in Iran who remains a faithful follower even through torture and imprisonment. May he soon be reunited with his family.

Lord, You see all and know all. I pray for our enemies within and without to have softened hearts that will be refit with the love of Jesus. A lot of anger and bitterness seems to be driving the heart of our leader. I pray You will give a heart transplant ASAP.

Please bless those friends in The Gambia this day. May they have relief from any struggles. You know what gives them problems and pains. Clear the path for them to be effective in all their pursuits. I pray you will supply their needs for good food and drink. Please keep the snakes away. Help them to feel rewarded by the fruit of their efforts.

Thank You for Your answers to prayer today. I know You are good and Your words are true. Thank You for being solid rock in a sinkhole. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen

  2. Amen

We pray for our leaders to look to you for what government should be. We look for them to remember you do not want bribes to be accepted or for favoritism for either the rich or the poor. That you know what is just and give us wisdom when we ask for it. May your people in office or places of influence ask for that wisdom and act on it.

And may they treat each other with kindness and be willing to speak with respect. May they work together for what is best for this country and not be set on their own way. May they seek after you.

  4. Amen! to all the above.

I haven’t been on the blog all day, but just read the rest of the comments from yesterday’s prayer thread.

Just to clarify one little thing, my friends’/tenants’ grown daughters (19 & 26) live with them.
