Prayer Requests 5-22-13

Who has a request or praise to share today?

And don’t forget Gambia and those ministering there.  🙂

Psalm 63:1-5

1 You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.

3 Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.

4 I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.

5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

  1. Prayer for husband as he deals with Home Depot. He bought some paint there a couple of weeks ago, but they had mixed it wrong. He applied it to the walls and really liked the colors. He had to get more paint as the painters ran out. When he asked for the some stuff, they gave him the correct mixture and it did not match. So he went back to get the original color, which almost covers all the walls, but they refused to mix it the same way as they initially did. He is going back to fight the fight some more. Their mistake, they need to either sell or give him the color they first gave him or come up and paint it whatever color they want. It is two and a half hours of driving time every time he has to go deal with them.

  2. I had the same thing happen at Sherwin Williams a few years ago. They gave me two gallons to replace the ones I used. I brought in the cans, which were marked with the colors they were supposed to be. I dislike painting, so was very unhappy to have to redo the whole living room, hall and kitchen, but could not live with the color. When I buy paint now I immediately go home and put some of the just mixed paint on the sample to make sure it is correct. In fact, you should be able to insist the salesperson does this at the store.

    Customers are usually warned that they must get all they need in the first place, because the colors usually will not match perfectly if they are gotten later. This is true for yarn and fabric, too. They may not even know how they got the color they did, so it would take a lot of experimentation. I am pretty sure they have a clause that limits responsibility to giving the original paint as a replacement.

    I am sorry you are going through this, mumsee. I know I was not happy at all the extra work and mess. I can just imagine what it is like for your family. 😦
