😦 Not happy with the Kid’s baseball coach. He appears to be using the other 11 kids as props to teach his kid and the other coach’s to play baseball. He plays the same 5 kids in every inning, in every game while the other 8 kids share the other positions. At least three of the spare kids are better players than these five and a couple more just as good. I won’t complain because my son is being slightly favored among the 8 and a little time on the bench or in the outfield is good for his character. 🙂 but I can see a parental rebellion coming.
kbells- remind the coach that this is little league where youngsters learn all they can about the game and all the players should get an chance to play. Varsity high school should be the first level where winning is what matters. By then, they have learned the skills they need and are honing them to improve. My son played his freshman high school year on the JV team. The coach was like yours- winning is all that mattered. He rarely played my son, even when ahead by 10 runs! This particular coach had a winning record to keep for some reason. I think he was trying to be the varsity coach.
🙂 Going to see D2 and the grandchildren this afternoon!
🙂 Five weeks until school is out!
😦 Rain day off on Thursday means we teachers have to be there the day after Memorial Day. I think I’ll ask just to stay later on the Friday before so as not to have to make another trip over.
Actually winning is not at all on his mind. We haven’t won a single game. His purpose seems to be that we are all there for his kid and a couple more. He is not even playing his best players.
😦 Trying to get up the nerve to advertise my blog. I have a few test posts up but I’m not confident yet that I can keep up with new, regular post. I also have a problem seeing mistakes. I’ve been known to read things over 6 or 7 times and still miss something.
🙂 kBells is blogging. Tell us where when you’re ready. I was always catching my typos and other errors on the blog, going back and fixing them always (thankfully it’s easy to do on a blog). But everyone needs an editor, those things slip through easily, especially when you’re in a hurry.
Have you seen “42” yet?
🙂 Friend and I got to the pet expo yesterday (we go every year) but 😦 I wasn’t feeling all that great since I’d had so little sleep the night before doing my news junkie thing of watching the Boston bomber pursuit. So we left after about only 3 hours, but we saw the cat building which is what my friend always likes to see most. I told her we could skip the dogs this year, I was just beat, felt like I was wilting.
🙂 I slept 9 hours last night, it was wonderful. And I feel SO much better now.
😦 I had a dream that the paper was being sold to Costco. They were going to change all our jobs. I remember joking to someone in the dream, “Just don’t let them put me in bookkeeping.” Talk about a disaster …
🙂 It’s warm (80s) and very spring-like this weekend out here. I really should go out and dig up a few weeds.
🙂 We also stopped yesterday at the booth of a friend who does cat rescue in our area (with her teen daughter helping out) — she had a bunch of mewing “bottle-feeder” baby kittens.
She was telling us, though, how tough it is with the economy — their family’s especially taking a hit (her husband is a contractor and the housing bust really affected his earnings — then she lost her job about a year ago and despite constant job hunting, still hasn’t landed another one).
😦 Tripped over something in the basement a little while ago & hurt my right leg, including a badly-skinned & bleeding knee. This is the leg which was just starting to get better after having an aching hip for a few weeks.
🙂 At least by injuring the already hurting leg, I still have one good one!

BTW his methods are not even getting results. We lost 18-1 last night.

KBells, that sounds like Charlie Brown’s team. They need Snoopy in the outfield.

This coach would put snoopy on the bench.
