Will do, Phos. Please pray also for my neighbor again, the one who believes her husband is trying to harm her. She was over here before dawn today, she said she hasn’t slept in 3 days, is in a dither and is trying to make arrangements to go back east where her folks are.
It is another beautiful day in the Atlanta area. Thank You for days like these that make us want to be outside. Thank You for the health to enjoy these days. And thank You for the provision of flu shots that hopefully will keep folks well as we enter into flu season shortly.
Lord, I pray for all those who are in need of employment such as Ki’s SIL, Greg. Thank You that he has not been totally without, but You know the stresses receiving only half his regular income puts upon him and his family. I pray he will quickly get a boost to his income to meet the former salary and that it will even be enough to cover what he feels has been lost during this season of underemployment. Please, Lord, help my brother to find employment. You know in January it will be a year of unemployment for him if he does not find something. Please help him Lord as his unemployment benefit is set to run out.
Lord, I pray today that You will bring to the mind of Phos anything that she has forgotten to take care of before her upcoming trip. I pray that those preparations that seem to be taking too long given her short time frame before departure can somehow be whittled down, and made doable. May all her business dealings be settled with kind people looking out for her needs while she is away. Lord, please just make a clear and easy path for her to go forward meeting Your needs in this world. Settle her mind and let her relax in the peace of knowing You are in control.
Again, I remember Donna’s neighbors, husband and wife, who are in the most difficult situation. Lord, some situations in marriage require a period of separation to allow for setting things straight and building a reformed relationship. I pray over this marriage that if that is required You will be at the heart of the marriage, keeping it lively even though the husband and wife may be parted for a short while. You know all the details. Help Donna to be a trustworthy and valuable Christian friend during this time of uncertainty. At the same time, Lord, help her to not get caught up in something that could in any way endanger her. Please, Lord, if spiritual warfare is creating this havoc, I pray You will show Yourself mighty in breaking through the darkness that has come over the household. You are able, Father God! I pray in the name of Jesus, Amen
Darby update: Last I heard, she continues to respond to commands to lift a finger or thumb and is following people with her eyes. She is not out of the woods for life and few think there will be much more to the recovery, but she is holding on on her own, with a feeding tube.
Karen, I’d asked her if she’d express her thoughts about all this to him and she said she had. They have counseling (separate) appointments again tomorrow, pray that whoever is counseling them understands the situation and can somehow help them. Meanwhile, she’s left some of her belongings on my porch so I’ve boxed them, but really don’t want to be in a position where I’m “holding” a lot of her things.
A praise from me tonight, I met with my doctor late this afternoon to get the results of the blood work taken a few weeks ago, and all is well (blood sugar, no plaque indications, low indicator for Alzheimer’s Yay) — although …
One exception is the cholesterol reading which was higher than he’d like it to be (no surprise there, it’s been in the borderline range for a few years). It’s not in the shocking range, but a little too high, is the way he put it.
So he’s having me try some samples of a medication 3 days a week to see if that resolves it. He said my diet sounds reasonable as it is (so not a lot of changes that could be made there, in other words, although he said to stay clear of starches, which I’m trying to do anyway).
But despite that, I am somewhat relieved that no other issues are appearing on the horizon such as diabetes, etc. I go back in 6-8 weeks. Mammogram seems to have come back fine as well.
And I think I’m even back on his “good patient” list after having been awol for a few years. 😉
And thank you, Janice, for the prayer, you touched on many of my major concerns and dilemmas. I’m trying to be a good friend without getting caught in the middle of anything. I really believe professional help is desperately needed right now and trust (and pray) that others are intervening on that level.
I pray also for the marriage as this will be a very difficult episode to overcome & come back from — for both of them — I’m afraid. 😦
Heavenly Father, You are so impressive how You work things out for people. We have no one but You to whom we can come with pleadings for good things to happen for people we care about. I consider Darby, Lord. We recognize her condition is still so fragile, Lord. Yet you have given Darby more time to be in the loving presence of her parents. She is responsive so they can count on knowing that when they express their love for her that she hears! That is such a blessing that you did not have to give. I had the joy of that blessing when my father had his stroke. When he wiggled his toe I knew he heard me and when I told him I loved him I knew he heard me. What wonderful blessings you give in the middle of painful times.
I pray for Kim’s beloved one who is processing the dying of Tony. Please help her to gracefully accept that it is Your time for Tony to go home to You. May she come to terms with what is best for Tony because You have set her appointed time. Please lighten the burden of pain and replace it with the joy of knowing a loved one is with You. Please do not let the occasion of Tony’s death in anyway cause an overshadowing of pain for Kim’s wedding. May the focus be upon a sweet parting for Tony going to her home in heaven. And may there be a feeling that at least for the honeymoon days that Kim and Mr. P have found heaven on earth. And as they settle into married life may they feel peace, joy and contentment through their newly made covenant.
Thank You, Lord, for Donna’s good medical report. Please continue to bless her as she does what is necessary to take care of any minor health concerns. And thank You for how she helps a friend in need. I pray for a good result from the couple’s consultations with the counselor. May they receive reasonable goals to work toward to benefit and not tear down their marriage. Whatever issue is causing the wife’s distress, Lord, I pray that You will make a way of resolution. Of course, that is if it is Your will. I trust in You to work things for the good of both of these children who are Yours because of Your hand in creating them.
I pray these petitions in the blessed name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen
I would like to request prayer as I cover all the final details as I prepare to go overseas. I’m feeling swamped right now.
