  2. Atlanta will be visited by VP Harris today. She will be at GA Tech where the hot topic will be climate change. I hope they add a few prayers for the people of Turkey and Syria. 11,000 dead was the number I heard this morningπŸ™ It seems unfathomable.

  3. Thanks all. Well my hairdresser texted me that she is sick so no haircut today. My hair is very droopy, not a good look. It has been 3 months since I have had a trim. Oh, well, something to look forward to next week. I waited a month for this appointment.

The good news is that my son in law will come this afternoon to take things to the dump. That means the old doors and the toilet are leaving my back porch, which is the main entry to the house.

  4. Happy birthday, Jo. My hair has gotten impossible. I am going bald. 😦 I will have a cut tomorrow. I called last week, but the poor stylist just had two teeth out. Her husband answered the phone and told me. She called yesterday and I heard it was a tooth on each side. Ugh! I never know what to even do with my hair anymore, so I go when I am desperate. That is now.

Pretty car. You can get that new car smell with some of the cleaning products to wipe down the vinyl or leather. Lots cheaper than a new car. πŸ˜‰
Although, if you have little ones in the car, that may not work as well as actually new.

We are enjoying our warm weather. The deer must be very hungry. They broke branches on my chokeberry next to my deck. They are digging through the snow to try to find the hostas or whatever they can in my gardens and even my pots.

  5. Flashy, AJ. My daughter loves her red car.

I hope you have fun with it. I’m not sure, yet, if I have figured out all the fancy things my 6-year-old car can do! LOL

I prefer anonymous white–which means I often have trouble finding my car in a parking lot sea of anonymous white cars!

  6. I found a verse to use as my Bible memory verse this week from a women’s ministry group:
    Ephesians 2:14 NKJV
“For He Himself is our peace who has made both one and has broken down the middle wall of separation.” A lady likes to springboard off my haiku and photos and bring out a related Bible verse. I really appreciate that she does that.

Isn’t it great that God is the great reconciler and our sure peace? Of course, in context the verse relates to peace between the Jews and Gentiles, but I think Jesus is the answer to all differences that seem impossible to settle. Jeaus gives us peace. We can rest in it. We are so blessed!

  7. Morning and oh what a lovely car!! And I love that color. Having a black car I am now so confused going out to a parking lot trying to find my car! I don’t believe you will have that problem Aj! And I have tried opening a stranger’s car thinking it was mine!

Happy Birthday dear Jo!! We are thankful for our Lord’s gift of YOU today and every day! πŸ’– πŸŽ‚

  8. Thanks all, and happy b’day Jo. πŸ™‚

    It’s Mars Orange.

In dimmer light it looks almost red, like the header,

But in bright sun it’s clearly orange. πŸ™‚

I’ve spent the morning tinkering, adding it to the insurance, and my EZ-Pass account.

  9. Wow, that’s a nice ride. But it sort of looks red in the photo, not Mars orange. πŸ™‚ Sharp. I can almost smell it from here.

I need a hair cut also, but following the trend since Covid, nothing needs to be done now or on schedule. I think my last hair cut was a couple months shy of a year ago. I used to go in maybe every 2-3 months.

I have a very busy rest of the week with work.

I saw the knee surgeon yesterday for what, I guess, was my last visit unless something comes up, he said. X-rays were taken, everything is still “in place,” he said. He said to work on the leg strengthening — stairs are still a challenge which is he said is normal.

For those interested, I have posted something on the news thread this morning.

  10. I see the new care is also AWD, good choice — my Jeep Cherokee is 4×4.

But shape-wise, my Cherokee (dark gray, black trim) looks like the car above, pretty much.

I still miss the classic, squared-off Jeep-look my former Liberty, RIP, had.

    Sniff.

  11. Dj,

It’s AWD, but has a snow mode that acts the same as 4 wheel drive at speeds under 40mph. All 4 wheels are drive wheels. πŸ™‚

But I still don’t want no snow.

  12. Good morning, all. Beautiful day in the neighborhood. We have been out for our first walk of the day. Dad wore two jackets, a hat, gloves, house slippers. He says the house is warm.

The car could be mine in a parking lot except mine is actually red and a Subaru Forester, eight years old with mumse plates and never goes into a parking lot.

  13. What are mumsee plates?

Are those like the specialty plates we can buy out here to save the environment or help the whales?

Popular car colors were white, then silver, then dark gray/black (which is now mine).

I like the color of my Cherokee, love the black trim look with it.

But we are beginning to see actual “colors” emerge in newer cars, that’s kind of refreshing.

  14. When I was a young adult, my parents bought my mom a new car, and gave her old one to me. It was grey or silver. They had it painted Candy Apple Red for me. πŸ™‚

  15. Son in law just left with all of my things for the dump. and he said he didn’t need my help so I get the afternoon off.
So one daughter invited me for dinner. Now it turns out the other daughter and her family are coming too should be fun.

  16. Happy birthday, Jo.

Let’s see, my (2) VW bugs were baby blue and beige, respectively; (2) VW Jettas were dark gray and white, respectively; Jeep Liberty, dark blue; Jeep Cherokee dark gray.

And that’s it. Whether I buy them new or used, I keep my cars for a really long time. πŸ™‚ they have lots and lots and lots of miles on them by the time they’re replaced, usually 100,000 to 200,000 or in that range (closer to 200,000).

The used VW bugs were a mystery, who knows on those odometers.

I just hit only 50,000 miles on the odometer of the (used 2018) Cherokee after having it for a little over 2 years (it was at 41,000 when I bought it as a lease turn-in).

These are (mini, lightweight) Covid miles, to be sure.

  17. It’s 73Β° this afternoon. I sat on the front porch and prayed. I would have enjoyed walking but best not yet. When I came inside I sneezed a lot. Pollen, before Valentine’s Day? The Birthday Tree has some buds way up top that look fuller but not bloomed out yet.
