Prayer Requests 11-17-22

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her former students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 119

א Aleph

Blessed are those whose ways are blameless,
    who walk according to the law of the Lord.
Blessed are those who keep his statutes
    and seek him with all their heart—
they do no wrong
    but follow his ways.
You have laid down precepts
    that are to be fully obeyed.
Oh, that my ways were steadfast
    in obeying your decrees!
Then I would not be put to shame
    when I consider all your commands.
I will praise you with an upright heart
    as I learn your righteous laws.
I will obey your decrees;
    do not utterly forsake me.

ב Beth

How can a young person stay on the path of purity?
    By living according to your word.
10 I seek you with all my heart;
    do not let me stray from your commands.
11 I have hidden your word in my heart
    that I might not sin against you.
12 Praise be to you, Lord;
    teach me your decrees.
13 With my lips I recount
    all the laws that come from your mouth.
14 I rejoice in following your statutes
    as one rejoices in great riches.
15 I meditate on your precepts
    and consider your ways.
16 I delight in your decrees;
    I will not neglect your word.

  1. Amen to both.

    My neighbor is good to go for her first knee surgery in just a few weeks. She’s nervous, doctor said the recovery will be tough and painful — and this is just the first of two of those surgeries. But she said at least now she has some hope as she looks forward.

  2. I’m back from my appt.

    The stent is out and my pain has lessened already. 🙂

    But they don’t have the biopsy results yet. 😦

    The Dr. is on the lab and will call when he has them.

    We discussed what comes next. If clear and no cancer, just a cystoscopy in 3 months.

    If it is cancer again, we will proceed with a new drug and immunotherapy this time. Thankfully that can be done at the hospital 10 minutes away instead of traveling 30 minutes to the Cancer Center in Allentown. That’s good.

    As soon as I hear from the Dr. I will let you know.

    Thank you all for the prayers. 🙂

  3. Thankful, AJ, that you are getting some relief. Art is mostly suffering from a pain in his side which may be a pulled muscle, not on the surgical side. He is pretty miserable. We forgot his Tylenol today, and he has not taken other heavier pain meds that he could. He is miserable considering his work going undone. He missed an all day online update school today for CPE credits. Not sure what will happen but he needs the credits to remain in his professional standing.

    A Bible study friend is bringing late lunch♡ Thankful.

  4. Life is moving so quickly, I scarcely know what I’m doing. I actually missed a bunch of meals on Monday and Tuesday, so busy, and spent yesterday wondering why I was so hungry.

    Did I tell you when J had her C-section, they removed her ovaries?

    Pathology came back cancerous. As a result, she’s officially at stage 4.

    Baby is holding her own–they’re calling her “the lioness.”

    J is back in the hospital–probably for good.

    Please continue to pray for this family as God brings them to mind.

    It’s often hard to pray–I have to remind myself, “where there’s life, there’s hope.”

    But, I often end up crying, too.

  6. Stepmom stepped through the veil yesterday morning. Peaceful and content with my dad sleeping next to her, as they requested.

    Daughter and I came home to resupply son, who had been supplying himself through an upstairs window, via a ladder. Ah well. We move on.

    We will head back up to continue emotional support for my dad.

    Meanwhile, on other fronts, husband is driving madly across country with his dad, sister, and brother. They plan to arrive here Tuesday. Step mom in law has engaged a lawyer to try to keep them from fleeing Florida, though he is of sound mind and an adult and coming legally. She wants him in a nursing home as she has moved in with her daughter a couple hours away. And so it goes. Son is setting up the room for him.

    Prayer appreciated and God is definitely in action. The new hire, from Haiti, and her family have been a huge blessing. She has changed my dad’s eating completely and he seems to have gotten over his digestive issues that were wearing him out. He eats Haitian food now. She has brought us meals every day even on her days off and she and her husband help with a myriad of things and have been a great encouragement. They are strong believers and definitely having an impact on my dad and brother. Prayer.

  8. Michelle, I know a person who has survived stage 4 twice so it is possible although not the norm. It is a lady at Church of the Apostles.

    Oh, Mumsee, so much on all sides! I am amazed at how God is working in it all. Art’s wonderful nursing care at the hospital was from ladies from Africa, Jamaica, etc. We loved them and they loved us. You’d have thought we were from a mutual admiration society. Of course they habe all traveled the world and I shared I was born at that hospital and lived only three miles away😀 I told them that the world came to me so I did not need to travel😀

  9. Prayers for all.

    I know several people who have survived stage 4 cancer. I hope that is the case here.

    My condolences, mumsee. I am glad she went peacefully.
