Prayer Requests 8-24-22

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget to pray for The Gambia.

Anyone else have something to share?

Psalm 36

For the director of music. Of David the servant of the Lord.

I have a message from God in my heart
    concerning the sinfulness of the wicked:
   There is no fear of God
    before their eyes.

In their own eyes they flatter themselves
    too much to detect or hate their sin.
The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful;
    they fail to act wisely or do good.
Even on their beds they plot evil;
    they commit themselves to a sinful course
    and do not reject what is wrong.

Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens,
    your faithfulness to the skies.
Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
    your justice like the great deep.
    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
    People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
They feast on the abundance of your house;
    you give them drink from your river of delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
    in your light we see light.

10 Continue your love to those who know you,
    your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 May the foot of the proud not come against me,
    nor the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 See how the evildoers lie fallen—
    thrown down, not able to rise!

  1. Thanks for prayers yesterday. I got through my three chapters, but it was hard. I had to take several breaks and pray.

    Back at it tomorrow.

    It’s all very odd. Story is great, however.

    A long teary morning reflecting on all the “to-dos.” I have a note on my computer that simply says NO. I’ve had to write the pastor just now and bow out of a commitment.

    We could use some wisdom out here. There’s too much going on.

    Oh, and I just remembered. It’s fire season. 😦

    Thanks.

  2. Yep. And I’ve been praying for you, DJ.

    More heavy things came in at a Zoom meeting just now. Sigh.

    Pastor wrote back no worries and told me to keep treading water!

    This is why we love him. 🙂

  3. Daughter seems to be doing well in her current situation. Husband just got her signed up for a month there. We go in twice a day to medicate. I believe I will offer to go help her shop a little more sensibly, and set her room up for more long term living. It would be wonderful if this could be the answer. But it is early yet.

  4. So thankful to hear that, Mumsee.🙏

    Glad your pastor was understanding, M.
    May things soon calm down a bit in your realm. And please, Lord, God over all nature and elements, keep fires at bay this year. In Jesus’ name, Amen🙏
