Prayer Requests 8-20-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 32

Of David. A maskil.

Blessed is the one
    whose transgressions are forgiven,
    whose sins are covered.
Blessed is the one
    whose sin the Lord does not count against them
    and in whose spirit is no deceit.

When I kept silent,
    my bones wasted away
    through my groaning all day long.
For day and night
    your hand was heavy on me;
   my strength was sapped
    as in the heat of summer.

Then I acknowledged my sin to you
    and did not cover up my iniquity.
   I said, “I will confess
    my transgressions to the Lord.”
   And you forgave
    the guilt of my sin.

Therefore let all the faithful pray to you
    while you may be found;
   surely the rising of the mighty waters
    will not reach them.
You are my hiding place;
    you will protect me from trouble
    and surround me with songs of deliverance.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go;
    I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.
Do not be like the horse or the mule,
    which have no understanding
   but must be controlled by bit and bridle
    or they will not come to you.
10 Many are the woes of the wicked,
    but the Lord’s unfailing love
    surrounds the one who trusts in him.

11 Rejoice in the Lord and be glad, you righteous;
    sing, all you who are upright in heart!

  1. Thank you for praying for me! I will go with the less invasive. It makes more sense for now. I am at peace.

    Speaking of forms, I had so many to fill out at the plastic surgeons office. One was a form unlike what I’ve seen before. It was all about social and emotional feelings. At the top it said you could decline to fill it out but had to sign that was your choice. I wrote that I have vision problems and had too many forms to fill out. I was “outside” the box of responses. This form reminded me of the new SEL, Social Emotional Learning that is in the school systems now.

  2. After you turn a certain age, particularly after COVID, all physician offices are asking you questions about mental health during their visits.

    They’re just trying to head off issues–and perhaps are doing a survey of what happened during the lockdown.

    I thought it surprising, interesting, and proactive.

  3. I’ve had the questions for years, also, do you have a gun in the home, etc. But they were not on a form be themselves, they were incorporated into other forms. This was a much more detailed form by itself. Maybe it was geared more specifically to why people were seeking plastic surgery. I did not read all the questions, way too cumbersome for me to wade through even with Art’s help.

  4. I thought I was doing ok last night. I went to my sewing room as they carried their stuff inside. The drop out runner guy took a shower in the upstairs bath. I went downstairs and saw no one. My bedroom door was shut and I assumed husband was in there. The bathroom door was shut I assumed he was taking a shower so I went back to the family room and there he was! Umm who is in MY bathroom??? Other friend taking a shower
    !!! I have never been so angry feeling disregarded and unconsidered! That is MY space! I went to church and then walked around an antique shoppe trying to get myself together and right before the Lord. Prayer appreciated

  5. Lord, I lift up this situation in the Colorado home. You know how it is when people feel their private space has been totally violated. It feels like an invasion by an enemy. And maybe it is. These days we do not know what goes on in the minds of people. But You do, Lord. You are omniecient, omnipotent, and omipresent. I pray in Jesus’ name, that You would put a hedge of protection over our friend and her needs for privacy. I feel anger, too, over this violation and selfishness on the part of one who could not wait his turn. I do pray for peace between husband and wife, andcthat husband will step up and say no more. Please, Lord, only You know how to bring forgiveness into play in such situations. Sometimes people just don’t get it when they misunderstand what is important to someone else. You know the whole picture, Lord. Please help blood pressure to settle and no lasting bad feelings. Your peace, God, may it be brought into the home and hearts. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen
