Prayer Requests 7-12-22

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 146

Praise the Lord.

   Praise the Lord, my soul.

I will praise the Lord all my life;
I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord their God.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them—
    he remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
   The Lord sets prisoners free,
the Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
    the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the foreigner
and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10 The Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.

    Praise the Lord.

  1. As I mentioned on yesterday’s thread, part of Chickadee’s situation is that she lives with people who affirm and encourage her in this transgender delusion, which makes it all the harder for her to recognize the truth. And if she really has what used to be called Asperger’s Syndrome, one trait of that for females is to adopt the traits and beliefs of close friends. I have definitely seen that in her.

Have I already mentioned that she is also into some occultic beliefs? (I learned this by peeking at a social media page of hers that she doesn’t know I know about.) I am so scared for her. This is all such a heartache. I cry out to God to rescue my younger daughter from all these things, including the grip that the McKs have on her.

We had to drive by their home recently going into that town, and there was a large “pride” flag hanging from the porch roof, with a smaller transgender flag in front of it. I wonder what the McK parents really think of all of this – if they have “drunk the KoolAid” on these matters, or still hold to Christian views but are letting their daughters rule the roost. I often pray for them to stand strong in their Christian beliefs, if they still have them.

  2. Please also pray for my Nightingale. (Mostly for salvation of course, but also about this. . .) You’ve heard about my frustration over things that are not getting done. And you know how to-do lists don’t stay static, but continue to grow with time.

Nightingale finds ways of filling her time, in a way that can be labeled “avoidance”. The latest thing is something that is good for her and Boy, in that she joined a gym that has classes throughout the week and has “challenges” that she enjoys joining. (These challenges last for about a month or so, starting with a weigh-in, and extra points for the number of classes you go to.) Boy goes to a kids’ class on Tuesday evenings (and maybe another time?), which is preceded by one of her classes.

This reminds me of years ago when my SIL was into doing deep-cleaning in her home, and other kinds of cleaning and organizing projects. That sounds great, right? Very productive! But she came to realize that she was filling her time that way to avoid the studying and paper-writing she had to do for her graduate school classes. (She would eventually get them done, but at the last minute, which of course was more stressful.)

Nightingale does not take well to any kind of suggestion or even gentle nudge from me, so I am relying on the Holy Spirit to do the nudging from within her, and/or to bring the right opportunities for me to say something. (One of those presented itself recently, but I don’t know what is going on with what we talked about.)

Please pray that the determination to tackle some of these things will well up within her, not in an overly stressful way, but in a “let’s get this done” kind of way. Thank you.

  3. Praying, Kizzie. It feels like our culture has just slipped completely off the rails, doesn’t it, taking too many people and whole families with it. I’m praying this madness will be short-lived.

Praying also for Debra’s continued recovery and PT, and for Janice’s preparation for upcoming surgery and treatments (and for as few reactions as possible to the estrogen blocker in the meantime).

  4. Kizzie, well, at least the avoidance isn’t her watching TV shows — it does sound like she’s getting some good things accomplished and that there is some good, quality time with the Boy. Still, I “get” your frustration as the house continues to stall. Praying all those priorities come into clearer focus as the summer winds down and fall approaches.

  5. Guess I should have also included asking prayer for myself to have patience, and trust God even more deeply in all of this (for both Chickadee’s and Nightingale’s situations).

DJ – Once fall comes, she will be back to her college classes as well as working and other stuff. I was so hoping that a good amount of stuff could have been dealt with during her summer break.

  6. Sounds a lot like a husband, Kizzie. Those things don’t bother her, so it is easy for her to fill her time doing things she does enjoy more. I know how frustrating it can be. You can lead a horse to water, but…
