Justice Alito's opinion does not mince words about Roe and its progeny. He describes Roe as "an abuse of judicial authority" and as being "on a collision course with the Constitution from the day it was decided." /2
The opinion's excellent discussion of the stare decisis factors notes that "some of our most important constitutional decisions have overruled prior precedent," including Brown v. Board, West Coast Hotel Co., and Barnette. /4
And that *is* exactly the Court's job. Here the Court finally takes itself out of the business of legislating abortion – a task for which it it lacks both the authority and expertise. Instead, that job will rightly be returned to the people and their elected representatives. /6
This leak is just the latest iteration of the Left's shameful campaign to intimidate and undermine the Court, and it should be seen for exactly what it is. /8
“Roe v. Wade “is not constitutional law and gives almost no sense of an obligation to try to be.” That was the conclusion in the Yale Law Journal of pro-choice legal scholar John Hart Ely.
“One of the most curious things about Roe is that, behind its own verbal smokescreen, the substantive judgment on which it rests is nowhere to be found.” That’s liberal legal scholar Laurence Tribe.
It’s near-consensus among legal scholars, even those who believe abortion should be legal, that Roe was a shoddy decision, not grounded in the Constitution.
“You will be hard-pressed to find a constitutional law professor, even among those who support the idea of constitutional protection for the right to choose, who will embrace the opinion itself rather than the result,” wrote pro-choice scholar Kermit Roosevelt in the Washington Post.
“This is not surprising,” Roosevelt continued. “As constitutional argument, Roe is barely coherent.”
The Constitution quite obviously does not protect abortion as a fundamental right. Roe relied on a “right of privacy” “emanating” from a “penumbra” cast by actually enumerated rights. It was clearly motivated reasoning.
Abortion has thus been protected from democracy by a ruling that everyone knows is garbage, motivated reasoning . I’ve collected here many pro-choice legal scholars saying how bad Roe was.
Subject to scrutiny, Roe falls, and abortion defenders need to convince politicians to vote in order to strip unborn babies of any legal protections.
This is why the pro-Roe side is relying on threats to protect Roe. Democrats promise that they will declare the Supreme Court illegitimate if it doesn’t uphold their decision. That directly implies that they believe the federal government and state courts should disregard any subsequent rulings from the court.
Some Democratic senators already declare the Supreme Court is illegitimate. That means they don’t believe in the Constitution and thus have violated their oath of office.
Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts is threatening to pack the court — add four or more additional justices so that Democrats have a majority. (You can imagine the one-upping cycle this would set off.)

“Under a new law proposed by state lawmakers in California, a largely tax-subsidized fund could become available to help people from out-of-state access abortions.
California State Senators Nancy Skinner and Anna Caballero introduced Senate Bill 1142, which, if passed into law, will establish a public-private fund for the sole purpose of providing grant money to nonprofits to assist “low-income pregnant women” get “access to abortion services.”
This bill has the explicit goal of attracting out-of-state women who seek abortion services which would subsequently establish California as a state friendly to abortion tourism.
PJ Media reported that the amount of taxpayer money used to support the fund would be determined by the California legislature.
SB 1142 is a self-styled response to laws passed in multiple Republican-controlled states that limit abortions to before the detection of a fetal heartbeat and is a preemptive attempt to codify protections to abortion access in law before the Supreme Court potentially overturns Roe v. Wade.
Sen. Skinner said in a statement, “The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority seems poised to do the unthinkable. If the court overturns 50 years of settled law and takes away a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion, California will not stand idly by.”
She continued, “With SB 1142, California sends a clear message to the rest of the nation: We are fully committed to ensuring that California women and those who may seek refuge here have access to all reproductive services, including abortion.”
In the September of 2021, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed two bills into law that prioritized securing the privacy of women who received abortions and the abortionists who provided them with these services, reported ABC News.
In doing so, Gov. Newsom declared California to be a “reproductive freedom state,” which he viewed to be in direct contrast to the state of Texas’s work to limit access to abortion.
The recently passed laws made it a crime to film people within 100 feet of an abortion clinic for the purpose of intimidation and make it easier for young women who are on their parents’ insurance plans to keep sensitive medical information, like whether they received an abortion, private.”

“COVID-19 vaccination was “significantly associated” with a 25% jump in emergency medical services (EMS) for heart problems in 16-39 year-olds in Israel, whose vaccination rate is among the world’s highest, according to a peer-reviewed study by MIT researchers.
Published last week in the Nature journal Scientific Reports, the study found no association with COVID infections, however.
“While not establishing causal relationships, the findings raise concerns regarding vaccine-induced undetected severe cardiovascular side-effects and underscore the already established causal relationship between vaccines and myocarditis, a frequent cause of unexpected cardiac arrest in young individuals,” the study says.
The research adds more fuel to the legal and grassroots campaigns against compelled vaccination.
An Italian administrative court deemed a vaccine mandate on nursing students unconstitutional, citing nearly 10,000 reported deaths from various COVID vaccines in the European Medicines Agency’s EudraVigilance monitoring system, but referred the case to the country’s Constitutional Court. (The new MIT study also mentions EudraVigilance.)
Published in late March, the 53-page ruling only drew attention in the U.S. last week when an anti-vaccine mandate group translated a portion. Just the News ran the ruling through Google Translate, which said in part the reported death count exceeds the “normal and, therefore, tolerable” risk permitted under vaccine mandates.”
“Facing mounting losses in the courts over its immigration policies, the Biden administration has invented a new tactic for keeping as many illegal aliens in the country as possible: Create a circular bureaucratic process loop indefinitely delaying deportation.
The newest tactic was exposed last week in a lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton challenging obscure regulatory changes by the Homeland Security Department that shifted the power to deport away from immigration judges to civilian bureaucrats while allowing aliens multiple means of delaying and appealing.
“The Interim Rule sets forth all kinds of exceptions from the procedures and timelines in the new regulations, generally always inuring to the alien’s benefit,” Paxton wrote in his lawsuit.
“In summary, the Interim Rule transfers significant authority from immigration judges to asylum officers, grants those asylum officers significant additional authority, limits immigration-judge review to denials of applications, and upends the entire adjudicatory system to the benefit of aliens,” the suit added.”
“The vast majority of asylum cases that reach an immigration judge are rejected, about 71% of the time under President Trump, though it fell to 63% in the first year of the Biden presidency. And most aliens are then subjected to expedited removal.
What the Biden administration did is create interim rules that significantly bypass the immigration judges, allowing civilian bureaucrats working for the Customs and Immigration Service to take new actions that delay or circumvent expedited removal.
The Texas lawsuit noted several of the changes, including that “individuals subject to expedited removal and found to have a credible fear of persecution or torture would have their claims for asylum, withholding of removal … or Convention Against Torture … protection initially adjudicated by USCIS following a nonadversarial interview before an asylum officer.”
Aliens who lose at the immigration court level now can appeal and and get reconsidered by the CIS bureaucracy under most favorable conditions, the Texas suit noted. And aliens who lose at both the court and CIS level and facing “expedited removal proceedings would be eligible for consideration for parole.”
John Zadrozny, a former White House immigration adviser to President Trump, told Just the News the new rules have simply created a circular bureaucratic process with little end in sight, meaning most aliens who enter it can stay in America indefinitely for years.
“What this rule basically does is it destroys expedited removal for all intents and purposes, and creates an endless loop of review that will prevent an alien from really ever being removed under the expedited removal process,” Zadrozny explained during an interview Monday on the John Solomon Reports podcast.
“We’re calling this the ‘Alien always wins rule,’ because that’s basically what it is: It’s designed to prevent them from [ever] getting a final negative adjudication” authorizing their removal from the country,” Zadrozny said. “

“This week, Democrat Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona dashed the hopes of their more radical colleagues amid renewed calls to pass a federal law that would overrule state limits or prohibitions on abortion.
Calls for slim Democrat majorities in the House and Senate to quickly advance a bill, the inaccurate and grossly named “Women’s Health Protection Act,” that would codify Roe v. Wade’s concocted right to abortion were swift. Almost a little too swift, perhaps, in the wake of an unprecedented leak from the Supreme Court that showed a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito overturning Roe.
The bill was already passed by Speaker Pelosi’s Democrat caucus in the House of Representatives, but in order to get the legislation past the Senate and on to President Biden’s desk for signature, the bill would need to garner 60 votes in order to move the bill to a final vote, something that’s just not going to happen with the current 50-50 split.
So, again, norm-shattering Dems called for the termination of the legislative filibuster requiring 60 votes to move bills ahead for a vote so they could force the Women’s Health Protection Act through. But again, Senators Manchin and Sinema aren’t having it.
In a statement released and tweeted by Senator Sinema, she restated her position that a “woman’s healthcare choices should be between her, her family, and her doctor,” but explained why she won’t nuke the filibuster in order to pass a shortsighted Democrat bill.”
“Protections in the Senate safeguarding against the erosion of women’s access to health care have been used half-a-dozen times in the past ten years, and are more important now than ever,” Sinema’s statement explained in her defense of the legislative filibuster. Without it, a future slim Republican majority could advance pretty much anything they want, including federal restrictions on abortion.
Sinema has staunchly defended the procedural hurdle amid crushing pressure from her own side of the aisle — and calls for violence against her from former Democrat officials — to join them in ending its protection against slim majorities being able to ram through whatever legislation they want. So too, has Senator Manchin.
His response to questions about joining radical Democrats to end the legislative filibuster was predictable and in-line with his previous defense of its preservation:”

Congress is demanding answers from the Biden administration following a disclosure that reams of biometric data abandoned by the United States during its bungled withdrawal from Afghanistan are being used by the Taliban to target American allies still stuck in the war-torn nation.
Eight Republican senators led by Sen. Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.) are asking the State and Defense Departments to turn over information related to the evacuation of U.S. troops in Afghanistan that allowed the Taliban to retake control of the country. In addition to leaving behind $7 billion worth of military hardware, the United States abandoned “sensitive data, including biometric data,” on Afghan allies that are now reportedly being used by the Taliban to target those who supported the United States’ 20-year war in the country…
The probe comes just weeks after Human Rights Watch, an advocacy organization, released a bombshell report detailing how the Taliban is using abandoned biometric data to eradicate those who worked alongside the United States.
Human Rights Watch recently released a report detailing the Taliban’s atrocities, including their recovery of the biometric and personnel data. It is not known how many of our helpers were lost in this fashion.
The electronic records included iris scans, fingerprints, and photographs, along with the personnel records I mentioned above. That makes it awfully easy for the Taliban to ID people conclusively even if they are attempting to live under an assumed identity. This has led to “targeted killings, torture, and forced disappearances” of the helpers who worked in cooperation with America and our allies during the war. And with the world’s international media focused on Ukraine right now, the Taliban is using this opportunity to continue eradicating our helpers while fewer media outlets are watching.”

“Dems Bring Abortion on Demand until Birth Act to Vote”
“On February 28, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) will bring the Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act, otherwise known as the Women’s Health Protection Act (WHPA, S. 1975), to a vote. This legislation codifies Roe v. Wade’s precedent of legal abortion through the entirety of pregnancy. The bill passed the House in September and needs 60 votes in order to pass the Senate. If the bill does pass and is signed into law, it will become the first-ever piece of federal legislation legalizing the killing of an unborn child.
The U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision ruled that abortion is protected under the U.S. Constitution. In doing so, the Court overturned nearly every state-level protection for life in the womb and usurped the power of state legislators to pass laws reflective of their constituents’ views in regard to protecting the unborn. Currently, only 17 percent of Americans (including 31 percent of Democrats) agree that abortion should be available to a woman any time she wants one during her entire pregnancy (a view in line with Roe and its companion case Doe v. Bolton). Yet after decades of tyranny under Roe, state and federal efforts to protect the unborn have largely failed. That began to change in 2011 with a wave of pro-life laws.
With Democrats currently in control of the U.S. House, Senate, and White House, no one could have predicted the recent success pro-lifers have had protecting life in the womb. Texas passed the Heartbeat Bill, which protects life in the womb once an unborn child’s heartbeat can be detected. The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled Texas’ law can remain in effect even as litigation challenging the bill remains ongoing. In another Lone Star State victory, Lubbock, Texas, became a sanctuary city for the unborn and the first place in America to completely protect life in the womb since the Roe decision.
Perhaps most importantly, the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization case, which concerns the constitutionality of Mississippi’s Gestational Age Act and pre-viability protections for the unborn. Since the oral arguments in December, many have speculated that the Court will most likely return the issue of legislating on abortion to the states. The Abortion on Demand Until Birth Act is the response of Democrats in Congress.

A very difficult, very important decision was taken from the hands of the American people and their elected representatives, to be resolved by a diktat from a politicized court – establishing a dire precedent for the Ruling Class to override democracy and impose its vision.
Abortion was a matter of tremendous moral and practical significance for all sides – and literally life and death for the child involved – but it went to the top of the growing list of things we're not allowed to vote on anymore.

The thing about energizing the respective activist communities is that pro-lifers view the end of Roe as the beginning, not the end, of their activism. They know they will have a lot of work to do, in state after state, and it's a crusade they've been anticipating for decades.
We're also in the middle of a broad and deep voter uprising against authoritarianism, and Roe is profoundly authoritarian in character. The people are sick and tired of "experts" with horrible track records insisting they're not allowed to vote on anything important.
There is SO MUCH we've been forced to accept, so much we've been bullied into tolerating, and the pandemic lockdown's exposure of left-wing extremism in schools shocked the American middle class with just how insane and malevolent our elites have become.
One other grave miscalculation Dems made when they launched Operation SCOTUS Leak: Abortion is one of those issues that only works for the Left when it's kept vague and hypothetical. The more specifics emerge, the more the public turns pro-life, i.e. the ultrasound revolution.
The default pro-abortion position is very vague and lazy. A lot of it boils down to men bullied into thinking they have nothing to say on the issue – which is illogical, immoral, and contrary to core American principles. Some of those guys wake up when you get into specifics.

Abortion is a winning issue for Democrats — about 60% of Americans support abortion rights. The confusing part for many is that most Americans would not consider abortion in their own personal situation. In other words, Americans don’t want the gov’t telling them what they can or can’t do but at the same time most will make the pro-life decision. And again, I point out that countries with very liberal abortion laws or none at all have lower abortion rates than the US. Give people a choice and they usually make the right one.
Abortion “tourism” is not new. Until recently it was estimated about 6000 Irish women a year made a trip to Liverpool for an abortion. Currently, many Polish women go to Stockholm, Berlin and elsewhere for abortions. Medical tourism isn’t unusual….Germans go to Poland for elective and cosmetic surgery. In North America, Americans and Canadians do the same in Mexico. Anyone who thinks the brute force of the state can prevent abortion is naive.

HRW, but there are many nuances in where people fall on this issue. Many, while thinking it should be medically available, think there should be restrictions on the practice that often conflict with the left’s view that there should be few — or even know restrictions.
I think more folks today would say that life begins at conception. Remember those who argued a fetus is a “clump of cells”? I think there are fewer of those folks than there once was. To those supporting life, it’s always been obvious, of course, and it defies logic to try to argue otherwise.
So I think people are generally conflicted, perhaps leaning to one side or the other, but not all that dug-in on their views.
And I also would say that the ‘life” movement has made some significant cultural and political strides in that abortion is not viewed as “lightly” as it once was. It’s a regrettable act, sometimes considered necessary in some people’s minds; but it’s never something that’s ever forgotten and is often quite regretted.
In college, a friend of my then-boyfriend didn’t want to be on contraception because she thought she’d gain weight. She had several, serial abortions — used basically as her “birth control” — which was horrifying to us back then but I also think it was viewed much more casually back then (the 70s).
I don’t think you see that now. I’d say people, young people included, are much more enlightened now and see abortion for what it is — the taking of a life. At its heart, it’s an issue that I think has more agreement than not on that point.
Whether the law should allow for the practice is where the debate is centered, but that also is where, I believe, many voters want to see reasonable restraints on it.
So it’s not so black and white, not one side vs the other side when considering the political persuasions among those who may have no religious scruples per se — but deep down, they know the truth.

“One of the most curious things about Roe is that, behind its own verbal smokescreen, the substantive judgment on which it rests is nowhere to be found.” That’s liberal legal scholar Laurence Tribe.
It’s near-consensus among legal scholars, even those who believe abortion should be legal, that Roe was a shoddy decision, not grounded in the Constitution.
“You will be hard-pressed to find a constitutional law professor, even among those who support the idea of constitutional protection for the right to choose, who will embrace the opinion itself rather than the result,” wrote pro-choice scholar Kermit Roosevelt in the Washington Post.
“This is not surprising,” Roosevelt continued. “As constitutional argument, Roe is barely coherent.”
The Constitution quite obviously does not protect abortion as a fundamental right. Roe relied on a “right of privacy” “emanating” from a “penumbra” cast by actually enumerated rights. It was clearly motivated reasoning.
Abortion has thus been protected from democracy by a ruling that everyone knows is garbage, motivated reasoning . I’ve collected here many pro-choice legal scholars saying how bad Roe was.
Subject to scrutiny, Roe falls, and abortion defenders need to convince politicians to vote in order to strip unborn babies of any legal protections.
This is why the pro-Roe side is relying on threats to protect Roe. Democrats promise that they will declare the Supreme Court illegitimate if it doesn’t uphold their decision. That directly implies that they believe the federal government and state courts should disregard any subsequent rulings from the court.
Some Democratic senators already declare the Supreme Court is illegitimate. That means they don’t believe in the Constitution and thus have violated their oath of office.
Sen. Ed Markey of Massachusetts is threatening to pack the court — add four or more additional justices so that Democrats have a majority. (You can imagine the one-upping cycle this would set off.)
Bullying a court to rule along with the party in power has a storied history (FDR did it), but it doesn’t exactly smell of good norms.”

PJ Media reported that the amount of taxpayer money used to support the fund would be determined by the California legislature.
SB 1142 is a self-styled response to laws passed in multiple Republican-controlled states that limit abortions to before the detection of a fetal heartbeat and is a preemptive attempt to codify protections to abortion access in law before the Supreme Court potentially overturns Roe v. Wade.
Sen. Skinner said in a statement, “The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority seems poised to do the unthinkable. If the court overturns 50 years of settled law and takes away a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion, California will not stand idly by.”
She continued, “With SB 1142, California sends a clear message to the rest of the nation: We are fully committed to ensuring that California women and those who may seek refuge here have access to all reproductive services, including abortion.”
In the September of 2021, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed two bills into law that prioritized securing the privacy of women who received abortions and the abortionists who provided them with these services, reported ABC News.
In doing so, Gov. Newsom declared California to be a “reproductive freedom state,” which he viewed to be in direct contrast to the state of Texas’s work to limit access to abortion.
The recently passed laws made it a crime to film people within 100 feet of an abortion clinic for the purpose of intimidation and make it easier for young women who are on their parents’ insurance plans to keep sensitive medical information, like whether they received an abortion, private.”

“The vast majority of asylum cases that reach an immigration judge are rejected, about 71% of the time under President Trump, though it fell to 63% in the first year of the Biden presidency. And most aliens are then subjected to expedited removal.
What the Biden administration did is create interim rules that significantly bypass the immigration judges, allowing civilian bureaucrats working for the Customs and Immigration Service to take new actions that delay or circumvent expedited removal.
The Texas lawsuit noted several of the changes, including that “individuals subject to expedited removal and found to have a credible fear of persecution or torture would have their claims for asylum, withholding of removal … or Convention Against Torture … protection initially adjudicated by USCIS following a nonadversarial interview before an asylum officer.”

John Zadrozny, a former White House immigration adviser to President Trump, told Just the News the new rules have simply created a circular bureaucratic process with little end in sight, meaning most aliens who enter it can stay in America indefinitely for years.
“What this rule basically does is it destroys expedited removal for all intents and purposes, and creates an endless loop of review that will prevent an alien from really ever being removed under the expedited removal process,” Zadrozny explained during an interview Monday on the John Solomon Reports podcast.
“We’re calling this the ‘Alien always wins rule,’ because that’s basically what it is: It’s designed to prevent them from [ever] getting a final negative adjudication” authorizing their removal from the country,” Zadrozny said. “

“This week, Democrat Senators Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Kyrsten Sinema of Arizona dashed the hopes of their more radical colleagues amid renewed calls to pass a federal law that would overrule state limits or prohibitions on abortion.
Calls for slim Democrat majorities in the House and Senate to quickly advance a bill, the inaccurate and grossly named “Women’s Health Protection Act,” that would codify Roe v. Wade’s concocted right to abortion were swift. Almost a little too swift, perhaps, in the wake of an unprecedented leak from the Supreme Court that showed a draft opinion by Justice Samuel Alito overturning Roe.
The bill was already passed by Speaker Pelosi’s Democrat caucus in the House of Representatives, but in order to get the legislation past the Senate and on to President Biden’s desk for signature, the bill would need to garner 60 votes in order to move the bill to a final vote, something that’s just not going to happen with the current 50-50 split.

Sinema has staunchly defended the procedural hurdle amid crushing pressure from her own side of the aisle — and calls for violence against her from former Democrat officials — to join them in ending its protection against slim majorities being able to ram through whatever legislation they want. Human Rights Watch recently released a report detailing the Taliban’s atrocities, including their recovery of the biometric and personnel data. It is not known how many of our helpers were lost in this fashion.
The electronic records included iris scans, fingerprints, and photographs, along with the personnel records I mentioned above. That makes it awfully easy for the Taliban to ID people conclusively even if they are attempting to live under an assumed identity. This has led to “targeted killings, torture, and forced disappearances” of the helpers who worked in cooperation with America and our allies during the war. And with the world’s international media focused on Ukraine right now, the Taliban is using this opportunity to continue eradicating our helpers while fewer media outlets are watching.”

The U.S. Supreme Court’s 1973 Roe v. Wade decision ruled that abortion is protected under the U.S. Constitution. Senator Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) has completely distanced himself from the legislation. This bill embodies the extremism of the Democratic Party platform, which supports abortion through birth.”

Abortion is a winning issue for Democrats — about 60% of Americans support abortion rights. The confusing part for many is that most Americans would not consider abortion in their own personal situation. In other words, Americans don’t want the gov’t telling them what they can or can’t do but at the same time most will make the pro-life decision. And again, I point out that countries with very liberal abortion laws or none at all have lower abortion rates than the US. Give people a choice and they usually make the right one.
Abortion “tourism” is not new. Until recently it was estimated about 6000 Irish women a year made a trip to Liverpool for an abortion. Currently, many Polish women go to Stockholm, Berlin and elsewhere for abortions. Medical tourism isn’t unusual….Germans go to Poland for elective and cosmetic surgery. In North America, Americans and Canadians do the same in Mexico. Anyone who thinks the brute force of the state can prevent abortion is naive.

The truth is abortion is largely a selfishly murderous choice usually only for convenience in the US, Planned Parenthoods own numbers from their in house statisticians at the Guttmacher Institute shows this.

HRW, but there are many nuances in where people fall on this issue. Many, while thinking it should be medically available, think there should be restrictions on the practice that often conflict with the left’s view that there should be few — or even know restrictions.
I think more folks today would say that life begins at conception. Remember those who argued a fetus is a “clump of cells”? I think there are fewer of those folks than there once was. To those supporting life, it’s always been obvious, of course, and it defies logic to try to argue otherwise.
So I think people are generally conflicted, perhaps leaning to one side or the other, but not all that dug-in on their views.

And I also would say that the ‘life” movement has made some significant cultural and political strides in that abortion is not viewed as “lightly” as it once was. It’s a regrettable act, sometimes considered necessary in some people’s minds; but it’s never something that’s ever forgotten and is often quite regretted.
In college, a friend of my then-boyfriend didn’t want to be on contraception because she thought she’d gain weight. She had several, serial abortions — used basically as her “birth control” — which was horrifying to us back then but I also think it was viewed much more casually back then (the 70s).
I don’t think you see that now. I’d say people, young people included, are much more enlightened now and see abortion for what it is — the taking of a life. At its heart, it’s an issue that I think has more agreement than not on that point.
Whether the law should allow for the practice is where the debate is centered, but that also is where, I believe, many voters want to see reasonable restraints on it.
So it’s not so black and white, not one side vs the other side when considering the political persuasions among those who may have no religious scruples per se — but deep down, they know the truth.
