Well no one has responded to my request for cheerios and tomorrow is the 100th day of school..
So, God just gave me another idea. I am going to pop popcorn, I keep a popper at school. So the question for the class is: Can you count 100 pieces of popcorn? and can you eat One hundred pieces of popcorn?
Janice- in answer to your question last night about letting people move into a house before it closes — NO! Not if the agents are smart.
I am curious though. Was it listed with an agent? Was there ever a sign in the yard? Did you ever look it up online?
Tuesday I got a call from our launch coach. He words with the new agents along with me. He actually is my “right hand”. One of the agents had spoken with him and was on his way to a listing appointment and was going to take a land listing for a substantial amount. He was also going to charge a flat fee (Because of the Sherman Anti-Trust Act and a few other rules and regulations I can’t give you details). LC told him he couldn’t do it and told him to speak with me first. Then because LC is my back up, he called me to see if I had spoken with this agent. Nope. Sure hadn’t. So I called him to explain to him why he couldn’t do that and what our standards were. He hit the roof! He started yelling at me that he had tried to get in touch with LC and couldn’t and he wished someone had told him before he gave the seller his word and then called my ethics into question. He accused me of price fixing and restriction of trade. I tried to explain that BECAUSE I AM YOUR BROKER I can have this conversation with you. I cannot go out and talk to other. brokers and agree on a “standard fee” but I CAN have this conversation within our brokerage. He continued to yell. Luckily for me he was in an area without good cell coverage and his call had kept fading in an out so when I hung up on him it wasn’t obvious.
I sent the CEO/Recruiter/Other Responsible Person for the brokerage a text telling him that JB was a loose cannon and everyone was getting tired of him (he has been a pain since he has been there, even saying to someone that part of his business plan was to make sure he had money saved for WHEN not if he got sued) and that he had yelled at me because he took a flat fee and accused us of price fixing.
Yesterday he was called into the office and I received a text message telling me that JB would be moving his license to a different brokerage. Apparently JB had gone into his meeting with CEO spouting the same thing and was told, “It sounds like we aren’t the right place for you”.
Nice to know someone has my back and will some of the “heavy lifting” for me.
I have another story to tell but will wait because Little Miss spent the night and has preschool this morning and despite having 3 years to learn how to do little girl’s hair he needs me to do it before I leave.
Hmmm… appears I missed the Morning wake up call last night?!! 😊
We slept in this morning not waking until around 7. The sky is overcast and snow moves in later this morning. I am going to bake a crustless pumpkin pie while it snows and I just may put on Christmas music. It will drive the husband crazy but if he wants to be the husband of a happy wife he will hush…. 🤫

I think some families allow their children to learn to get themselves ready for school at quite a young age so teachers never know what kids may arrive dressed in, and they can have quite the hair days, too. She is fortunate to have a Mimi to fuss over her!
A For Sale sign was up until the owners moved. The sign came down but the home continued to be listed online and a new video went up raising the price from 467,000 to 472,000 but that only showed on one ad. Trucks came and moved things in, and my friend, Karen, suggested they were staging the home. But people started staying over there. I rarely see them. A new sign has not gone up and when I checked online again sites say pending, and the new video showing a sale price of 472,000 does not show up on my search.
Good morning, Wanderers! It’s another sunny but cold morning . . . living up to being a January day.
I cooked seasoned red cabbage with red onion last night and Art seemed to like that so I have one new thing to add to future menus. Recently I have been using raw cabbage as a crunchy snack. I know it sounds weird, but it works to curb that need for crunch that I love from corn chips.
One of my granddaughters always asks me to do her hair in French braids when we are together. Her mother does not do it. I shudder when I see her hair sometimes (at least when she was younger). It was always important for me to have my daughters dressed decently. I would have been horrified at torn jeans etc. As a grandmother I have learned to somewhat bite my tongue. My mother did not do my hair. Funny how that can jump generations. We all survive. I hope your husband, Kim, didn’t use the old, “Well, you do it so much better” line. Mine tries that one. 😉
My BIL was evacuated from his apartment building. Around 150 others were as well. The furnace gave out and was not fixed by the evening. He is getting back in today, thank the Lord.
I’m with you, Kathleena. I always braided my daughter’s hair out of her face to make it look neat–at least for a while. My Adorables sometimes appear to go for days without even brushing their hair.
I always ask if I can brush it. The answer is usually no. 😦
It always makes me laugh to see that FB video of the dad doing his daughter’s hair. He takes off the vacuum nozzle, puts an elastic band around the end, calls over his daughter, vacuums up her hair, slips off the band, and voila! Ponytail!
Girl hair: I was probably a mix. I don’t think my mom worried much about my hair. I do remember her combing it and me shrieking. But not a regular occurrence.
And so it went for my girls. I tried to maintain their hair but I also left it to them a lot. Oldest daughter got lots of braiding done as she wanted her hair longer and I was not a hair in the eyes person. Next group would line up every evening to have their hair brushed and braided before bed but I left it to them the rest of the time. The evening ritual was something they wanted from about the age of ten (when we got them) to the age of departure. Twenty liked hers done for a while and then didn’t. She cuts her own hair and does a good job except when she doesn’t. She has settled to a rather nice short look but is envious of fourteen who has it to her thighs. Fourteen has me brush and braid before going to karate as the karate teacher insists. Works for me. She also has me do it before church.
Janice – Last night you said that my comment about the Albert Mohler opinion piece belonged on the political thread. The reason I wrote it on the daily thread is because the matter of World Opinions had come up there.
My comment was not about a political issue, but my view that I did not like the tone of that piece. I wasn’t taking a stand on whether Brooks is or isn’t conservative enough.
I think Mr. P is willing but somewhat scared. He hasn’t shied away from doing anything else for her. She has long, curly hair. She gives Mommy fits about it and sometimes shows up with “Messy Hair” –her words. She lets me because I tell her how I used to brush BG’s hair. I don’t tell her how I used to threaten to shave BG’s head. NOW BG will let me brush it as long as I will sit there and do it.
cloudy and not raining here. Having a meal at the Guest house tonight to celebrate someone’s birthday. Then we hope to have some time outdoors around a campfire. It has been raining the last few nights so you never know.
It’s so sunny here that it seems like it should be warmer. The sunshine really affects my mood lately and makes me feel happy! I think it is the way the sun angles rays into the house these days.

Children had to redo their lesson on the Supreme Court from yesterday. It was on Obama Care and such. They only got a forty percent on the quiz. Anything under an eighty and they have to redo. They usually pay attention so I was surprised. Anyway, they watched it again with dad and he explained things as they went. They got the minimum of eighty this time.
I was going to have a lovely lentil and pear salad, but when I pulled out the package of arugula it was all yucky and not fit for even a possum. I had plain lentils with the red cabbage and onion soup and some egg salad on a slice of rye toast. Not a bad substitute, but not nearly as delicious.
Another friend is in the hospital related to Covid. Way too many are still suffering this monstrosity of a constructed weapon of mass destruction. It goes on and on and on . . .
Sorry to post so much. I finally saw on Realator.com that the house sold on 1/18/2022 for 472,000. It sold in 2020 for 375,000. Is that not scary? I guess I am stuck with all night deck party lights from now on unless they want to reduce their electric bills. They sure are quiet!
Houses selling for ridiculous amounts around us, too, Janice. Just pushes our real estate taxes up. I protested last year, but won’t bother this year. I don’t think it will help with the sales that have happened.
I was talking to the neighbor tonight as we wheeled the trash bins down around the same time. He and his wife have lived there for a long time, the house belonged to the wife’s grandmother and they bought it from her when the were young marrieds.
Anyway, he was talking about some of the folks who lived in my house over the years, a merchant seaman and his wife, someone named “Ida May” – I know about some others.
So many different people have lived next to us over the years on the one side. On the other side I have only known three different families. I really wonder how people can afford to live here now. We sure could not buy in this neighborhood. It was not one of the ‘hot’ spots when I moved here. In fact, at one time the MARTA sytem planned to run a feeder commuter train line in here beside the railroad tracks behind the houses across the street. I was afraid the property would be taken by imminent domain and we’d lose money we’d invested. They never had the finances to put in that line so here we are still.
We ended up with about 4-5 inches of snow today.
Tomorrow we will attend our sweet friend’s memorial service in town. She was well loved and finished well and we look forward to listening to stories of how she touched their lives….
Our realtor friend tells us our home has doubled in price since we purchased 12 years ago…that is just nuts! I hope your new neighbors decide to turn off those lights Janice. When the neighbors across the road moved in 5 years ago they put 100 watt bulbs in their 8 outside lights all of which face the front of our property. When we walk in our living room or down our drive at night we must shield our eyes as we are blinded by the glare. The lights go on at 5 in the afternoon and don’t go off until 6:30 am. How I wish they would put them on motion sensors like we have but alas…they are afraid of the dark here in the forest….

Just in from a walk on a beautiful sunny day. 55 degrees but I wore a jacket anyway (and then took it off).

Heavy rain here, wish I could send it to California.
We are used to it, so the parents still came for the Friday picnic.
