Prayer Requests 11-6-21

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 91

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

  1. As you all know, Thanksgiving is less than three weeks away now. For the past several months of this situation with Chickadee, I have been telling myself that she wouldn’t go so far as to blow us off for the holidays, but also being a little worried about that anyway.

    Now that Thanksgiving is getting closer, I am getting more nervous about whether or not she will join us. Nightingale is sure that she will not, and I am hoping with all my heart that she will.

    Pretty soon I need to send a text or (more likely) an email to Chickadee and ask her to please join us for Thanksgiving. (Or a day around that day. We still don’t know if Nightingale will be scheduled to work Thanksgiving or Christmas. And sometimes we may make changes to accommodate the McKinney plans if Chickadee asks.)

    Please pray that Chickadee will agree to join us for the holidays, that God will loosen the grip of whatever has been keeping her away, and that not only will she agree to come (maybe merely out of a sense of “duty”, or pity for me, her mother) but that she will actually want to come.

    Thank you and God bless.

  2. Oops. I typed out their whole last name by mistake.

    AJ – If you see this, could you edit out the letters after the K, please?

  3. Oh, Kizzie. That is such a big concern to pray over. I ask God to reestablish ties with Chickadee that can not be broken again by others who do not have her best interest at heart. Until that happens, in His timing, I pray that He has angels keeping watch over her and lifting her spirit and reminding her of you and your love for her that never stops. May she never succeed in pushing God’s love and your love from her life. May she daily feel promptings to reach out to you until she can resist no longer. I ask this in the name of Jesus. God is limitless in His power to do what seems unlikely and even impossible to us. Sometimes we have to wait a very long time to see what His wonderful plan is to give us His best gifts.

  4. A little earlier this evening, I sent Chickadee an email with some chatty stuff, and also asking her to join us for Thanksgiving. May God move upon her heart to want to spend some time with her family. (Even more so, may God move upon her heart to turn to Him. And the same for Nightingale and Boy.)
