“The left says Facebook doesn’t do enough to combat fake news and hate. That Facebook “whistleblower” claims no one did anything to those awful news websites peddling hate and neo-Nazis.
It’s weird how people only name conservative news outlets when talking about fake news and hate-filled reports. It’s stranger that websites deemed left-wing never appear in these conversations.
The left and the government also use the argument to grip social media platforms like Facebook with their iron fist and take control.
The Wall Street Journal reviewed internal documents that contradict the left and the supposed internal documents the “whistleblower” has in her possession.
Facebook used “Sparing Sharing” tool after the 2016 election to target “hyperposters.” The “Informed Engagement” tool “reduced the reach of posts that people were more likely to share if they hadn’t read them.”
Joel Kaplan, Facebook’s global head of public policy and Bush II’s former deputy chief of staff, told everyone they should not implement “the initiative too aggressively.” Mark Zuckerberg watered it down, but then something happened:
In 2019, Facebook data scientists studied the impact of the two tools on dozens of publishers based on their ideologies, according to the documents reviewed by the Journal.
The study, dubbed a “political ideology analysis,” suggested the company had been suppressing the traffic of major far-right publishers, even though that wasn’t its intent, according to the documents. “Very conservative” sites, it found, would benefit the most if the tools were removed, with Breitbart’s traffic increasing an estimated 20%, Washington Times’ 18%, Western Journal’s 16% and Epoch Times’ by 11%, according to the documents.
People inside the company warned those in charge they should not even use these tools in a test run.
“We could face significant backlash for having ‘experimented’ with distribution at the expense of conservative published,” wrote one researcher.
Then George Floyd died in May 2020. One employee wrote on the chat board, “Get Breitbart out of News Tab.” (I worked at Breitbart from 2011 – 2016)
The employee provided examples to justify banning Breitbart, even though the articles only stated the truth:”
“During the 2020-21 school year, a study from Salt Lake County, Utah, published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, found only four positive cases among 735 students tested while in quarantine, a transmission rate of 0.7%. A study from St. Louis County, Mo., also published in MMWR, found no positive cases among quarantined students at a time when the total countywide two-week case count was 711 per 100,000 people (the CDC classifies a one-week rate of 100 per 100,000 as “high”).”

“In mid-September 2021, the Los Angeles Unified School district reported that, since the school year began, 30,000 students had been quarantined and only 63 tested positive—a 0.2% positivity rate. That’s about half the rate at which the district’s students turned up positive in large-scale surveillance testing—meaning that random quarantines would have been expected to turn up more cases. The district changed its policy to test-to-stay: Asymptomatic students suspected of exposure may remain in school, subject to testing every few days for a week, along with other restrictions. Parents are still directed to keep them at home outside school hours.
Test-to-stay dramatically reduces the educational costs of quarantine. Utah reported that it saved 109,752 school days across 13 high schools from November 2020 to March 2021. But many states are sticking with the CDC guidelines, and in September the agency looked at numerous studies on quarantined students and sidestepped the discussion. At an Oct. 13 White House press briefing, Director Rochelle Walensky concluded only that “masks are working.””
“More than 150 families living in San Francisco have hired private security to patrol their streets amid brazen property crimes, with some saying they no longer feel safe in their own neighborhood.
“We don’t feel safe in our neighborhood,” resident Katie Lyons, told CBS SF. “And we have an alarm, we have cameras on our property, but we want the extra security of having someone have eyes on our place.”
Lyons and other families hired patrol special officer Alan Byard to help patrol the streets of the city’s Marina District following repeated instances of car break-ins and home burglaries.
“It’s a nice area down here, people are afraid of what’s been going on,” said Byard. “They want a safe place to raise their kids. In the last year, I’ve had 10 of my clients move out of the city.”
Patrol Special Officers are overseen by the police commission as they work in their capacity as private security, CBS SF reported.
Byard explained that he patrols the Marina District in his car from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. looking for suspicious people. He charges $65 per residence each month.
He added that his business from residential clients has doubled since the coronavirus pandemic, starting with 70 families and growing to 150 families in the Marina District alone.
Another Marina District resident, Allan Brown has lived in the area for 20 years and was asked whether crime has gotten worse in recent days.
“Oh absolutely, absolutely. This place used to be – nothing would ever happen here,” he responded.
Lyons added that it’s not uncommon to see stolen property outside her home, and noted she doesn’t walk with a purse outside at night.
“Especially at night, I don’t walk with a purse, I’ll drive, or I’ll take an Uber, and it’s beginning to become a daytime problem too,” added Lyons.
Car burglaries are the biggest problem for the area, Byard told CBS SF, while petty theft and burglaries are also common.
The city’s Central District, which includes tourist hot spots such as Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown, struggled with a staggering 753% increase in car break-ins from May 2020 to May 2021. ”
“As we contemplate how the COVID-19 pandemic began, let’s add up all of the strange and unusual pieces of information that, in the eyes of the lab leak skeptics, are complete coincidences.
In 2009, EcoHealth Alliance’s Alexsei Chmura led expeditions to collect samples of viruses from bats in caves in southern China. He did not wear a mask or other personal protective gear, telling science writer David Quammen, “I guess it’s like not wearing a seat belt.”
A March 2018 grant proposal from EcoHealth to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) proposed “introduc[ing] appropriate human-specific cleavage sites” into SARS-like viruses; in other words, to take existing bat viruses and make them more likely to infect human beings. The proposal declared, “Dr. Shi, Wuhan Institute of Virology, will conduct viral testing on all collected samples, binding assays and some humanized mouse work.”
The National Institute of Health revealed last week that EcoHealth Alliance had non-deliberately made viruses more virulent during their research work with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. “The limited experiment described in the final progress report provided by EcoHealth Alliance was testing if spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor on a mouse model,” Tabak wrote. (Before the pandemic, Chinese research scientists had engineered a supply of micewith “humanized” lungs, to give a better sense of how these viruses would affect human beings.) “All other aspects of the mice, including the immune system, were unchanged,” the letter continues. “In this limited experiment, laboratory mice infected with the SHC014 WIV1 bat coronavirus became sicker than those infected with the WIV1 bat coronavirus.” NIH emphasized that “as sometimes occurs in science, this was an unexpected result of the research, as opposed to something that the researchers set out to do.”
According to Emily Kopp of Roll Call, “the NIH’s letter states that EcoHealth violated a provision in its contract requiring a report to government funders should one of the viruses in its experiment produce “a one log increase in growth.” In other words, EcoHealth was not supposed to enhance a virus’s ability to grow by a factor of 10 without notifying NIH. EcoHealth, working with the Wuhan lab, created novel coronaviruses that enhanced viral growth by 1,000-fold to 10,000-fold, orders of magnitude greater than the limit that should have triggered further NIH review, according to agency documents made public in recent weeks. The increase in viral load, which is closely tied to transmissibility, also resulted in more severe disease in mice in some cases.”
The Wuhan Institute of Virology kept live bats within its walls, a verified fact that EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak initially denied.
American officials who visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2017 reported to the U.S. State Department that the labs suffered from “a serious shortage of the highly trained technicians and investigators required to safely operate a [Biosafety Level] 4 laboratory.”
Shi Zhengli, nicknamed “Bat Woman,” said in a March 2020 interview with Scientific American that when she first heard of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, one of her first questions was, “Could they have come from our lab?” However, since the pandemic began, she vehemently denied that the WIV was the source of the virus.
In late autumn/early winter of 2019, as the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Wuhan Institute of Virology was one of three institutions in the world conducting gain-of-function-research on novel coronaviruses found in bats.
SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, has not yet been found naturally occurring in any other bat or animal in China – at least, according to Chinese authorities.
Researchers at University of California San Diego School of Medicine, with colleagues at the University of Arizona and Illumina, Inc., attempted to run simulations of natural spillover of viruses from animals. They concluded that depending upon certain variables, anywhere from 70 percent to 99.6 percent of the time, the virus would not spread quickly enough from one person to the next and would go extinct. SARS-CoV-2 is exceptionally contagious among human beings compared to the average bat or other animal virus – almost genetically optimized for this purpose.
Similarly, research published by the Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2018 examined the villagers who lived closest to the coronavirus-carrying bats in Yunnan Province and concluded that natural “spillover” from bats directly to humans is “relatively rare” – just 2.7 perecnt of the villagers had antibodies indicating exposure to a bat virus.
So, in theory, the pandemic could have started with some random Chinese person who doesn’t have any connection to the Wuhan Institute of Virology having some spectacularly unlucky run-in with a bat or other animal . . .”

Judge Royce Lamberth: “I find that the civil rights of the defendant [Christopher Worrell} have been abridged. I don’t know if it’s because he is a Jan. 6 defendant or not, but I find that this matter should be referred to the attorney general of the United States … for a civil rights investigation.””
“A federal judge has directed the Department of Justice to investigate whether the federal law enforcement is engaged in systemic discrimination – against Jan. 6 defendants, that is.
Last week, D.C. district court judge Royce Lamberth held the warden of the D.C. Jail and the director of the D.C. Department of Corrections in contempt for failing to promptly transmit an inmate’s medical records to the U.S. Marshal’s Service so he could receive necessary medical surgery.
The inmate – Christopher Worrell – is a Jan. 6 defendant, and the jail’s slow walking of his records has delayed his operation for nearly six months.
“It’s clear to me the civil rights of the defendant were violated by the D.C. Department of Corrections,” Lamberth said. “I don’t know if it’s because he’s a January 6 defendant or not.”
More importantly, the contempt order also directed the Clerk of the D.C. district court to transmit the order to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland for the Justice Department to conduct an “appropriate inquiry into potential civil rights violations of January 6 defendants, as exemplified by this case.”
For the reasons stated in open court, it is ADJUDGED that the Warden of the D.C. Jail Wanda Patten and Director of the D.C. Department of Corrections Quincy Booth are in civil contempt of court. The Clerk of the Court is ORDERED to transmit a copy of this order to the Attorney General of the United States for appropriate inquiry into potential civil rights violations of January 6 defendants, as exemplified in this case.
Lamberth’s referral should be read to encompass the whole of federal government’s treatment of Jan. 6 defendants from investigation through sentence. It’s a bombshell.
And there’s every reason why those who value impartial justice should be gravely concerned about how partisan politics has influenced these cases at every step in the process.”
The Riots
Figures from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives reveal that there were 876 reported arsons, 81 burglaries of federally-licensed gun dealers (with an estimated loss of 1,116 firearms) and 76 “explosive incidents” throughout the 2020 riots.
Further, according to the DOJ’s own data, one federal officer was killed, and 147 federal officers and 600 local officers were injured during that unrest. Retired St. Louis police captain David Dorn also was shot and killed in June 2020 while attempting to protect a local pawnshop from suspected looters.
While the unions for the Capitol and Metropolitan Police Departments maintain that approximately 140 police officers were injured during the Jan. 6 chaos, none were killed. (The left’s libel that U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was murdered by protesters that day was exposed as pure agitprop, as I wrote about here.)
Moreover, while the BLM-inspired riots caused property damage estimated at between $1 billion to $2 billion, the Jan. 6 riot carried a far lower price tag of $1.5 million.
While one might think these imbalances would have resulted in more federal resources being devoted to the investigation and prosecution of those who laid siege to cities across the country during 2020 than to those who were at the Capitol on Jan. 6, in fact the opposite is true.
Investigations
Federal authorities were not evenhanded in how they investigated the different sets of offenders.
Law enforcement has admitted to using geolocation data from defendants’ cell phones at an unprecedented level to track and arrest participants in the Jan. 6 incursion. They also have compelled banks to turn over data for clients who may have used their credit cards to make purchases in the D.C. area on Jan. 6 – possibly in violation of 12 U.S.C. § 3403, which prohibits financial institutions from turning over confidential client records.
Did the feds do the same when investigating crimes those who took over a Seattle police station and the surrounding blocks for nearly a month, creating an “Autonomous Zone” where two people were killed during four separate shootings? How about when anarchists firebombed the federal courthouse in downtown Portland?
“President Joe Biden, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen have told the public not to worry over the recent inflation, which they insist is “transitory.” They link the problem to supply-chain constraints that they suggest will soon lift. Supply problems have certainly contributed, but early relief seems unlikely.
Widespread supply-chain problems are clearly a global reality and part of America’s inflation story. Though many factors have contributed to the supply-chain woes, the heart of the matter is the post-pandemic buying surge. Consumers in the United States and around the world, having spent little during the lockdowns and quarantines and with sometimes-generous government checks in hand, have ratcheted up buying a wide range of goods and services.
As of August 2021, the most recent month for which data are available, consumers bought goods and services at an annual rate of $15.9 trillion. A year ago, that figure equaled $14.3 trillion. It should be easy to see how a demand jump of more than $1.5 trillion in a relatively short time has strained producers.
A shortage of workers has worsened the strain and slowed the catchup. Until recently, the United States offered especially generous unemployment benefits, making it more profitable for some to stay home than get jobs — especially workers with child-care responsibilities, who not only collected generous benefits but also saved on child-care expenses.
As of September, the combined effect of these influences had brought work participation to a mere 61.6 percent of the civilian population. Before the pandemic, participation averaged over 63.5 percent. The percentage change looks small, but it constitutes a decline of 5.5 million people available for work. Vaccine mandates have further curtailed the nation’s workforce.
Perhaps most significant in this mélange of trouble is the worldwide energy shortage. The post-pandemic demand surge would have strained production potentials in the best of circumstances, but policy actions have made matters worse. Biden began his term by shutting down the Keystone Pipeline and doing what he could to stop the fracking revolution. His actions have contributed to a 14 percent drop in North American fossil-fuel production from pre-pandemic highs.
The absence of this production has returned monopoly-like power to OPEC and Russia, both of which have every incentive to keep the price of oil high by constraining how much they pump. And both do better by getting more per barrel than from selling more barrels.
Green initiatives to replace fossil fuels with wind, solar and hydro power, which started well before the pandemic, have also contributed. Now, amid a surge in demand and huge portions of North American production taken offline, it has become difficult if not impossible to restart the closed operations.”

“We haven’t heard much from Rep. Ilhan Omar in a while. I’m sure she hasn’t been mute, but there’s a difference between words being spoken and words being newsworthy. Today, though, Omar came up with such a perfect mix of absurdity and shamelessness that it has to be reported.
The situation in Minneapolis continues to deteriorate in the aftermath of the 2020 George Floyd riots, with murder and auto theft rates rising dramatically. Instead of moving to quell the unrest and restore law and order last year, the city’s council president pledged to disband the police department. That’s led to a rash of officers quitting while others take a more hands-off approach out of fear of retribution if they make a mistake.
In what can only be described as incredibly ironic, Omar is now complaining about that reality while showing no remorse for her calls to “defund the police” that led her city to ruin.”

“When you have a system that refuses to work for the people it’s supposed to serve, you have to go back to the drawing board,” she said. “At some point, you’ve got to walk away.”
This sure feels like Omar set the house on fire and is now blaming the firefighters for not being able to contain the blaze. Police, whatever flaws they may suffer from in certain instances, are not the issue when they are faced with an unworkable situation. You can not ask human beings to risk their lives for people who do not offer them basic support, and that includes the city council actively trying to destroy the department. Officers have families to go home to at the end of the day just like anyone else. They are not robots no matter how much Omar would like to treat them as such.
Still, you’d be forgiven for believing this was Omar’s plan all along. Now, she gets to cite the high crime rates she helped cause while blaming the police department she wants to defund. It’s all incredibly convenient and further’s her goal of “reimagining” the police. Of course, that won’t actually help the crime rates. In fact, it’ll almost certainly make them worse.
But Omar and her cohorts don’t actually live in the areas affected so it’s no problem for them.”
A lesson in identity politics. No matter how high up you are on the victim list, there’s always someone higher up the food chain. And the left eat or kill their young.

Bellamy is known for many anti-gay, anti-women tweets.
So if they’re flying in, they need to be fully vaccinated, but if they sneak in through the back door, no jab is necessary.
This is further proof that COVID isn’t actually worse than the flu. Otherwise, why let millions of ‘immigrants’ cross our southern border without vaccination?

— During the 12-month period October 2, 2020 through October 3, 2021, there were 66 COVID-19 associated deaths in children 5-11, making COVID the eighth leading cause of death for this age group, behind accidents (969 deaths); malignant neoplasms (525); Congenital malformations, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities (274); assault/homicide (207); heart disease (115); chronic lower respiratory diseases (107); influenza and pneumonia (84); intentional self-harm/suicide (also 66 deaths).”

It’s weird how people only name conservative news outlets when talking about fake news and hate-filled reports. It’s stranger that websites deemed left-wing never appear in these conversations.
The left and the government also use the argument to grip social media platforms like Facebook with their iron fist and take control.
The Wall Street Journal reviewed internal documents that contradict the left and the supposed internal documents the “whistleblower” has in her possession.
Facebook used “Sparing Sharing” tool after the 2016 election to target “hyperposters.” The “Informed Engagement” tool “reduced the reach of posts that people were more likely to share if they hadn’t read them.”
Joel Kaplan, Facebook’s global head of public policy and Bush II’s former deputy chief of staff, told everyone they should not implement “the initiative too aggressively.” Mark Zuckerberg watered it down, but then something happened:
In 2019, Facebook data scientists studied the impact of the two tools on dozens of publishers based on their ideologies, according to the documents reviewed by the Journal.
The study, dubbed a “political ideology analysis,” suggested the company had been suppressing the traffic of major far-right publishers, even though that wasn’t its intent, according to the documents. “Very conservative” sites, it found, would benefit the most if the tools were removed, with Breitbart’s traffic increasing an estimated 20%, Washington Times’ 18%, Western Journal’s 16% and Epoch Times’ by 11%, according to the documents.
People inside the company warned those in charge they should not even use these tools in a test run.
“We could face significant backlash for having ‘experimented’ with distribution at the expense of conservative published,” wrote one researcher.
Then George Floyd died in May 2020. One employee wrote on the chat board, “Get Breitbart out of News Tab.” (I worked at Breitbart from 2011 – 2016)

The district changed its policy to test-to-stay: Asymptomatic students suspected of exposure may remain in school, subject to testing every few days for a week, along with other restrictions. Parents are still directed to keep them at home outside school hours.
Test-to-stay dramatically reduces the educational costs of quarantine. Utah reported that it saved 109,752 school days across 13 high schools from November 2020 to March 2021. But many states are sticking with the CDC guidelines, and in September the agency looked at numerous studies on quarantined students and sidestepped the discussion. At an Oct. 13 White House press briefing, Director Rochelle Walensky concluded only that “masks are working.””

“We don’t feel safe in our neighborhood,” resident Katie Lyons, told CBS SF. “And we have an alarm, we have cameras on our property, but we want the extra security of having someone have eyes on our place.”
Lyons and other families hired patrol special officer Alan Byard to help patrol the streets of the city’s Marina District following repeated instances of car break-ins and home burglaries.
“It’s a nice area down here, people are afraid of what’s been going on,” said Byard. “They want a safe place to raise their kids. In the last year, I’ve had 10 of my clients move out of the city.”
Patrol Special Officers are overseen by the police commission as they work in their capacity as private security, CBS SF reported.
Byard explained that he patrols the Marina District in his car from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. looking for suspicious people. He charges $65 per residence each month.
He added that his business from residential clients has doubled since the coronavirus pandemic, starting with 70 families and growing to 150 families in the Marina District alone.
Another Marina District resident, Allan Brown has lived in the area for 20 years and was asked whether crime has gotten worse in recent days.
“Oh absolutely, absolutely. This place used to be – nothing would ever happen here,” he responded.
Lyons added that it’s not uncommon to see stolen property outside her home, and noted she doesn’t walk with a purse outside at night.
“Especially at night, I don’t walk with a purse, I’ll drive, or I’ll take an Uber, and it’s beginning to become a daytime problem too,” added Lyons.
Car burglaries are the biggest problem for the area, Byard told CBS SF, while petty theft and burglaries are also common.
The city’s Central District, which includes tourist hot spots such as Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown, struggled with a staggering 753% increase in car break-ins from May 2020 to May 2021. ”

In 2009, EcoHealth Alliance’s Alexsei Chmura led expeditions to collect samples of viruses from bats in caves in southern China. He did not wear a mask or other personal protective gear, telling science writer David Quammen, “I guess it’s like not wearing a seat belt.”
A March 2018 grant proposal from EcoHealth to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) proposed “introduc[ing] appropriate human-specific cleavage sites” into SARS-like viruses; in other words, to take existing bat viruses and make them more likely to infect human beings. The proposal declared, “Dr. Shi, Wuhan Institute of Virology, will conduct viral testing on all collected samples, binding assays and some humanized mouse work.”
The National Institute of Health revealed last week that EcoHealth Alliance had non-deliberately made viruses more virulent during their research work with the Wuhan Institute of Virology. “The limited experiment described in the final progress report provided by EcoHealth Alliance was testing if spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor on a mouse model,” Tabak wrote. (Before the pandemic, Chinese research scientists had engineered a supply of micewith “humanized” lungs, to give a better sense of how these viruses would affect human beings.) “All other aspects of the mice, including the immune system, were unchanged,” the letter continues. “In this limited experiment, laboratory mice infected with the SHC014 WIV1 bat coronavirus became sicker than those infected with the WIV1 bat coronavirus.” NIH emphasized that “as sometimes occurs in science, this was an unexpected result of the research, as opposed to something that the researchers set out to do.”
According to Emily Kopp of Roll Call, “the NIH’s letter states that EcoHealth violated a provision in its contract requiring a report to government funders should one of the viruses in its experiment produce “a one log increase in growth.” In other words, EcoHealth was not supposed to enhance a virus’s ability to grow by a factor of 10 without notifying NIH. EcoHealth, working with the Wuhan lab, created novel coronaviruses that enhanced viral growth by 1,000-fold to 10,000-fold, orders of magnitude greater than the limit that should have triggered further NIH review, according to agency documents made public in recent weeks. The increase in viral load, which is closely tied to transmissibility, also resulted in more severe disease in mice in some cases.”
The Wuhan Institute of Virology kept live bats within its walls, a verified fact that EcoHealth Alliance president Peter Daszak initially denied.
American officials who visited the Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2017 reported to the U.S. State Department that the labs suffered from “a serious shortage of the highly trained technicians and investigators required to safely operate a [Biosafety Level] 4 laboratory.”
Shi Zhengli, nicknamed “Bat Woman,” said in a March 2020 interview with Scientific American that when she first heard of the COVID-19 outbreak in Wuhan, one of her first questions was, “Could they have come from our lab?” However, since the pandemic began, she vehemently denied that the WIV was the source of the virus.
In late autumn/early winter of 2019, as the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Wuhan Institute of Virology was one of three institutions in the world conducting gain-of-function-research on novel coronaviruses found in bats.
SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, has not yet been found naturally occurring in any other bat or animal in China – at least, according to Chinese authorities.
Researchers at University of California San Diego School of Medicine, with colleagues at the University of Arizona and Illumina, Inc., attempted to run simulations of natural spillover of viruses from animals. They concluded that depending upon certain variables, anywhere from 70 percent to 99.6 percent of the time, the virus would not spread quickly enough from one person to the next and would go extinct. SARS-CoV-2 is exceptionally contagious among human beings compared to the average bat or other animal virus – almost genetically optimized for this purpose.
Similarly, research published by the Wuhan Institute of Virology in 2018 examined the villagers who lived closest to the coronavirus-carrying bats in Yunnan Province and concluded that natural “spillover” from bats directly to humans is “relatively rare” – just 2.7 perecnt of the villagers had antibodies indicating exposure to a bat virus.
So, in theory, the pandemic could have started with some random Chinese person who doesn’t have any connection to the Wuhan Institute of Virology having some spectacularly unlucky run-in with a bat or other animal . . .”

“A federal judge has directed the Department of Justice to investigate whether the federal law enforcement is engaged in systemic discrimination – against Jan. 6 defendants, that is.
Last week, D.C. district court judge Royce Lamberth held the warden of the D.C. Jail and the director of the D.C. Department of Corrections in contempt for failing to promptly transmit an inmate’s medical records to the U.S. Marshal’s Service so he could receive necessary medical surgery.
The inmate – Christopher Worrell – is a Jan. 6 defendant, and the jail’s slow walking of his records has delayed his operation for nearly six months.
“It’s clear to me the civil rights of the defendant were violated by the D.C. Department of Corrections,” Lamberth said. “I don’t know if it’s because he’s a January 6 defendant or not.”
More importantly, the contempt order also directed the Clerk of the D.C. district court to transmit the order to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland for the Justice Department to conduct an “appropriate inquiry into potential civil rights violations of January 6 defendants, as exemplified by this case.”
For the reasons stated in open court, it is ADJUDGED that the Warden of the D.C. Jail Wanda Patten and Director of the D.C. Department of Corrections Quincy Booth are in civil contempt of court. The Clerk of the Court is ORDERED to transmit a copy of this order to the Attorney General of the United States for appropriate inquiry into potential civil rights violations of January 6 defendants, as exemplified in this case.
Lamberth’s referral should be read to encompass the whole of federal government’s treatment of Jan. 6 defendants from investigation through sentence. It’s a bombshell.
And there’s every reason why those who value impartial justice should be gravely concerned about how partisan politics has influenced these cases at every step in the process.”
The Riots
Figures from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives reveal that there were 876 reported arsons, 81 burglaries of federally-licensed gun dealers (with an estimated loss of 1,116 firearms) and 76 “explosive incidents” throughout the 2020 riots.
Further, according to the DOJ’s own data, one federal officer was killed, and 147 federal officers and 600 local officers were injured during that unrest. Retired St. Louis police captain David Dorn also was shot and killed in June 2020 while attempting to protect a local pawnshop from suspected looters.
While the unions for the Capitol and Metropolitan Police Departments maintain that approximately 140 police officers were injured during the Jan. 6 chaos, none were killed. (The left’s libel that U.S. Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick was murdered by protesters that day was exposed as pure agitprop, as I wrote about here.)
Moreover, while the BLM-inspired riots caused property damage estimated at between $1 billion to $2 billion, the Jan. 6 riot carried a far lower price tag of $1.5 million.
While one might think these imbalances would have resulted in more federal resources being devoted to the investigation and prosecution of those who laid siege to cities across the country during 2020 than to those who were at the Capitol on Jan. 6, in fact the opposite is true.
Investigations
Federal authorities were not evenhanded in how they investigated the different sets of offenders.
Law enforcement has admitted to using geolocation data from defendants’ cell phones at an unprecedented level to track and arrest participants in the Jan. 6 incursion. They also have compelled banks to turn over data for clients who may have used their credit cards to make purchases in the D.C. area on Jan. 6 – possibly in violation of 12 U.S.C. § 3403, which prohibits financial institutions from turning over confidential client records.
Did the feds do the same when investigating crimes those who took over a Seattle police station and the surrounding blocks for nearly a month, creating an “Autonomous Zone” where two people were killed during four separate shootings? How about when anarchists firebombed the federal courthouse in downtown Portland?
These questions are certainly worthy of answers.”

“President Joe Biden, Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell and Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen have told the public not to worry over the recent inflation, which they insist is “transitory.” They link the problem to supply-chain constraints that they suggest will soon lift. Supply problems have certainly contributed, but early relief seems unlikely.
Widespread supply-chain problems are clearly a global reality and part of America’s inflation story. Though many factors have contributed to the supply-chain woes, the heart of the matter is the post-pandemic buying surge. Consumers in the United States and around the world, having spent little during the lockdowns and quarantines and with sometimes-generous government checks in hand, have ratcheted up buying a wide range of goods and services.
As of August 2021, the most recent month for which data are available, consumers bought goods and services at an annual rate of $15.9 trillion. A year ago, that figure equaled $14.3 trillion. It should be easy to see how a demand jump of more than $1.5 trillion in a relatively short time has strained producers.
A shortage of workers has worsened the strain and slowed the catchup. Until recently, the United States offered especially generous unemployment benefits, making it more profitable for some to stay home than get jobs — especially workers with child-care responsibilities, who not only collected generous benefits but also saved on child-care expenses.
As of September, the combined effect of these influences had brought work participation to a mere 61.6 percent of the civilian population. Before the pandemic, participation averaged over 63.5 percent. The percentage change looks small, but it constitutes a decline of 5.5 million people available for work. Vaccine mandates have further curtailed the nation’s workforce.
Perhaps most significant in this mélange of trouble is the worldwide energy shortage. The post-pandemic demand surge would have strained production potentials in the best of circumstances, but policy actions have made matters worse. Biden began his term by shutting down the Keystone Pipeline and doing what he could to stop the fracking revolution. His actions have contributed to a 14 percent drop in North American fossil-fuel production from pre-pandemic highs.
The absence of this production has returned monopoly-like power to OPEC and Russia, both of which have every incentive to keep the price of oil high by constraining how much they pump. And both do better by getting more per barrel than from selling more barrels.
Green initiatives to replace fossil fuels with wind, solar and hydro power, which started well before the pandemic, have also contributed. Now, amid a surge in demand and huge portions of North American production taken offline, it has become difficult if not impossible to restart the closed operations.”

The situation in Minneapolis continues to deteriorate in the aftermath of the 2020 George Floyd riots, with murder and auto theft rates rising dramatically. Instead of moving to quell the unrest and restore law and order last year, the city’s council president pledged to disband the police department. That’s led to a rash of officers quitting while others take a more hands-off approach out of fear of retribution if they make a mistake.
In what can only be described as incredibly ironic, Omar is now complaining about that reality while showing no remorse for her calls to “defund the police” that led her city to ruin.”

“When you have a system that refuses to work for the people it’s supposed to serve, you have to go back to the drawing board,” she said. “At some point, you’ve got to walk away.”
This sure feels like Omar set the house on fire and is now blaming the firefighters for not being able to contain the blaze. Police, whatever flaws they may suffer from in certain instances, are not the issue when they are faced with an unworkable situation. You can not ask human beings to risk their lives for people who do not offer them basic support, and that includes the city council actively trying to destroy the department. Officers have families to go home to at the end of the day just like anyone else. They are not robots no matter how much Omar would like to treat them as such.
Still, you’d be forgiven for believing this was Omar’s plan all along. Now, she gets to cite the high crime rates she helped cause while blaming the police department she wants to defund. It’s all incredibly convenient and further’s her goal of “reimagining” the police. Of course, that won’t actually help the crime rates. In fact, it’ll almost certainly make them worse.
But Omar and her cohorts don’t actually live in the areas affected so it’s no problem for them.”

“The U.S. Food and Drug Administration was meeting on Tuesday to consider authorizing Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 to 11 years old.
As part of the daylong presentation, Fiona Havers, a member of the CDC’s COVID-19 Response Team, gave an overview of COVID-19 in children ages 5–11, noting that children are at least as likely as adults to be infected with SARS-CoV-2, but they are far less likely to die:
According to Havers:
— There have been around 1.9 million COVID cases reported in the 5-11 age group.
— Between January 1, 2020 and October 16, 2021, only 94 children ages 5-11 have died of COVID, which is 0.00012 percent of the 723,880 total U.S. COVID deaths through the week ending Oct. 16, 2021; and it is 17.34 percent of the 542 children ages 0-17 who have died of COVID since the pandemic began.
— 8,300 children ages 5-11 have been hospitalized with COVID to date.
— Underlying risk factors in hospitalized children ages 5-11 include obesity, chronic metabolic disease, feeding tube dependence, cardiovascular disease, neurologic disorders, chronic lung disease, blood disorders, immunosuppressed conditions, and “other” conditions.
— During the 12-month period October 2, 2020 through October 3, 2021, there were 66 COVID-19 associated deaths in children 5-11, making COVID the eighth leading cause of death for this age group, behind accidents (969 deaths); malignant neoplasms (525); Congenital malformations, deformations and chromosomal abnormalities (274); assault/homicide (207); heart disease (115); chronic lower respiratory diseases (107); influenza and pneumonia (84); intentional self-harm/suicide (also 66 deaths).”
