I’ve gotten my days mixed up. I thought today (Friday) was Saturday. So, since Saturday’s thread is up Friday night, I can still say “Here are your Friday Funnies.“
I just got 8 photos of all my grands all together. I am happy. of course the pictures are both silly and happy and silly again. They took all eleven grands to see their great grandmother, isn’t that special?
I was bemoaning our expected low of sixty six degrees until I heard Boise expects a low of seventy nine. Of course, sis in law does have ac if she will turn it on.
Good Morning! And Happy Birthday Elizabeth!! Enjoy YOUR day! ♥️
Since DJ never gets Friday and Saturday mixed up I do believe technically she gets first for the 31st…details details…..
I haven’t slept much and decided I may as well get myself up at 4 and have coffee. I worked so much outside in the flowerbed yesterday my head and lungs filled with pollens… 🤧
Happy Birthday Elizabeth. Have your dad make your favorite meal.
I am off to show houses in Mobile today. I dread crossing the bridge on a Saturday. It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, there isn’t a way to tell.
I suppose the easiest way will be to put the buyers in my car instead of worrying about two different cars making it across.
Good morning. Smoke is thick again this morning, with highs “expected to be much cooler than yesterday” at only ninety eight. But then thunderstorms expected tomorrow with a high of seventy nine. Followed by a steady rise in temps for the foreseeable future.
Family expected home today.
Yes, the thunderstorm will cool it a bit, but the lightning brings the threat of yet more fires. Something like one hundred twenty four were started by the last series of storms, a month or so ago. Some they attempt to put out, others, they let burn if no people or structures are threatened.

Friday is one of Nightingale’s weekly days off. So on Fridays, I often think it is Saturday. This past week, she took off her usual Wednesday and Thursday, so yesterday evening, knowing she was going to work today (she works alternating weekends), I thought that today would be Monday. 😀
Good brunch time! I had an egg with Art earlier and just now had a bowl of Greek yogurt with crushed pineapple, ginger, and walnuts
I am so thankful for the vaccine that has allowed so many to feel freedom to get back to many of their routines and dealing with the public on a regular basis. I did not feel the push to get it because of my lack of getting out and about, and should I get sick from the shot, I have no one to take care of me. Art has to stay dedicated to his small business. I got sick when I had the pneumonia vaccine. And, if one has the ability to wait it out due to life circumstances, why be in a rush? FDA approval will help as well as the availability of the Novavax in the fall. But in GA, we feel less trust in the government than ever, so there is that . . . It is a situation where one can not possibly understand the whys of not getting vaccinated unless one gets out of their shoes and puts on the shoes of another.
While it’s becoming more and more difficult for all of us to ferret out truth from error during this period, truth does exist and Christians are to pursue it as best as they are able with the resources we have.
What in the world??? First of all, I thought people were not allowed to say mom or dad or husband or parent anymore. What’s with that? Secondly….well…just….wow…..
Outside earlier, I thought, it sure seems like more than one hundred out here. There is a strong hot breeze blowing from the canyon. Took a thermometer out and put it in the shade. It says one hundred eight. I have been mostly inside this afternoon in my comfortable eighty to ninety house.
another nice day with a nice temperature here. 70’s are fine for daytime with 60’s at night. Perhaps you would like to serve over here? Mumsee we need house parents.
I can’t believe how it has been cooler here than there, Mumsee and all who live in that direction. We seem to be experiencing a convergence of changes on many levels that makes adjustment downright tough or near impossible.
Just in from doing chores. Still about ninety seven out there at six thirty. But it is very dark, not night dark, but storm dark. Even felt a few raindrops but by the time I looked at my arm, they had evaporated.
We could use rain but my hay is still out in the field and they just starting harvesting the peas in the adjoining field. That will stop harvest, not because the crop will grow more with rain but because it can’t be stored wet.
The article from WNG is good, DJ. It addresses a lot of important aspects but not the individual issues some people have as to why they have not gotten the vaccine.
Art found the movie The Great Outdoors on cable. It is really pretty silly. We just saw the part with John Candy watersking across the lake against his will. Art said it reinforces his thinking on never wanting to water ski. I never wanted to, either, although I was given several opportunities at various times. I was happy when I found out Art did not like roller coasters way back in the olden days when we went to amusement parks.
Elizabeth and Isaac spent the day with another couple at Dorney Park for her b’day. Then they went to the other girl’s parents for a bone fire afterwards.
She said they had a really good time.
Today she will have her b’day meal, her favorite as Kim suggested.
First day of summer camp for me!!! I hope I’m ready for check in of the campers. It’s a little different this year as we’re pre-screening the general health questions before they enter the building to check in. I’m so excited, but a bit nervous as well – I haven’t done this in over two years!!
Please pray for our staff and that the campers will meet Jesus and that we will be able to plug them into a youth group/church when they go home (that is a most important part as most of our campers are non-churched)
We had our relaunch today. The sermon was about all the church members being an expression of Jesus to those we encounter and serve in our community. It was scripturally based on Ephesians and some other books/verses, using the beautiful prayer in Ephesians to bless us. No one except the unvaccinated had to wear masks today, but going forward all must wear masks inside the church building.
Good afternoon fellow wanderers! Church was once again a sweet and encouraging time this morning. We came home and husband made bacon and eggs on his outdoor stove…so fun!
Sounds as though Elizabeth had an enjoyable birthday with friends and of course now Dad gets to make her favorite meal…spaghetti pie? That sounds delicious! I guess I need to look up that sort of recipe!
Has GA mandated mask wearing once again Janice? No one here had ventured there yet but there will be plenty to rebel against it if it happens…people are fed up! Our numbers are not high and those getting the variant are not being hospitalized nor dying from it from what I am reading….
Continued prayer from the pulpit today for our president and vice president, that godly advisors be brought around them, that they lead wisely and with humility.
The GA governor has not called for masks statewide, but metro counties are requiring masks in schools and indoor places. I have no problem complying, and it makes it less obvious that I am one of the (deplorables) unvaccinated. If unvaccinated, anyone indoors or outdoors on our church campus is suppose to have on a mask.
Art is watching Professor T. Does anyone else watch it?

Something suspicious about that.

Tomorrow is supposed to get up to eighty or upper seventies. I suppose it will need to get down to that before it goes up so there is comfort in that.
