It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 110
Of David. A psalm.
1 The Lord says to my lord:
“Sit at my right hand
until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.”
2 The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion, saying,
“Rule in the midst of your enemies!”
3 Your troops will be willing
on your day of battle.
Arrayed in holy splendor,
your young men will come to you
like dew from the morning’s womb.
4 The Lord has sworn
and will not change his mind:
“You are a priest forever,
in the order of Melchizedek.”
5 The Lord is at your right hand;
he will crush kings on the day of his wrath.
6 He will judge the nations, heaping up the dead
and crushing the rulers of the whole earth.
7 He will drink from a brook along the way,
and so he will lift his head high.
It will be a rough day for me as we go to the memorial service of our best friend. Add extended family issues and the fact that our church seems to be failing and I could sure use some prayer warriors, so I am appealing to the Fellowship of the Blog. I will be blessed to have my daughter with us for the service. It will be 7-8 hours of driving for her, as she cannot stay overnight.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being a felt presence with Kathaleena and her family and friends today. Please give everyone good and safe travels along the way whether a short or long distance. May good memories of good times be stirred up to offset the pain of loss.
Please comfort those who are caught up in grief and let them process this loss in a healthy way. If possible may someone be brought to salvation through words they hear at the service. I pray for physical comfort from the expected heat of the day. Thank You, Abba, for giving Kathaleena treasured friendships on this side of heaven and the hope to reunite in Your appointed time for eternity. I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

It was so nice to have our daughter with us. The funeral was very nice. The family contributed with both music, speaking and scripture reading. A grandson had a wonderful talk about how much his grandfather would urge everyone to come to the Lord for salvation. The pastor had an old fashsioned fire and brimstone talk about how everyone needs Christ. There were several I prayed for during that time. It was nice to visit with so many people we have not seen in a very long time. Our friend would have been so proud of his family. One sad thing is that this couple attended the same church during the summer that we do year long. Our church was no help. There were several members who did come to the service, however. Funerals are good to remind us life is short and what is really important. Even in this, there is blessing.
