  1. Keep the pressure on them, Rep. Greene!

She’s one of the very few in Congress who actually listens to her constituents.

    https://www.theepochtimes.com/mkt_breakingnews/congresswoman-introduces-bill-to-end-vaccine-passports_3758956.html

“Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced a proposal on April 1 that would ban COVID-19 vaccination mandates as well as so-called vaccine passports.

The We Will Not Comply Act would ban documents that show who has been vaccinated or recently tested negative for the CCP virus. The concept of requiring certification has been rejected by pro-privacy groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Greene’s measure likely won’t be taken up by the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives, and if it is, it will be unlikely to pass. It would “prevent any business engaged in interstate commerce from discriminating against a person based on their COVID-19 vaccine status,” cut off federal funding for a vaccine mandate on employees, a vaccine mandate for students attending schools, and mandates on organizations or sport—or “any person who expresses religious objection,” according to a statement from her office.

It would also prohibit the government from requiring a CCP virus vaccine to get a U.S. passport and “prevent Airline companies from denying someone from flying based on their COVID-19 vaccination status,” as well as “create the ability to sue if a person has been discriminated against on the basis of their vaccination status or mask compliance,” her office wrote.

The idea of such a passport has been publicly floated by large corporations while anonymous reports this week suggested that the Biden administration was working on such a proposal. White House press secretary Jen Psaki, in responding to those reports, said the administration will instead “provide guidance” on the effort to develop vaccine passports or similar systems.”

  2. Good, because it’s a joke, like his administration.

    All fluff, no stuff.

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/03/politico-biden-admin-will-be-embarrassed-when-most-capitol-hill-insurrectionists-receive-no-jail-time/

“Politico: Biden Admin Will Be “Embarrassed” When Most Capitol Hill “Insurrectionists” Receive No Jail Time

“Although prosecutors have loaded up their charging documents with language about the existential threat of the insurrection to the republic, the actions of many of the individual rioters often boiled down to trespassing.”

“Democrats were eager to seize upon the events at the Capitol on January 6th as their Reichstag moment in order to clamp down on “domestic terrorism,” to militarize DC by keeping the National Guard in DC despite there being absolutely no reason for them to be there, and to use as a political weapon against duly-elected Congressional Republicans.

In that, they were successful. The media was eager to help them with their goals and are still claiming that the Capitol Hill “insurrection” claimed five lives. They fail to mention that the only life that was lost as a direct result of the actions of another person was that of Ashli Babbitt who was shot and killed by some as yet unnamed law enforcement officer associated with the Capitol. The other four deaths were due to natural causes (strokes, heart attacks).

That didn’t stop Democrats and their rancid media activist arm from playing it up as though there were ever an actual threat to any member of Congress much less to our entire system of government. The Biden administration parroted Congressional Democrats’ nonsense about the event being some kind of existential threat to the nation, to democracy, to the entire free world. It was and is ludicrous, and the hyperbolic screeching about insurrection and treason and sedition (oh my!) are–at long last—being challenged by facts in a court of law.

This has Politico fretting about how the Biden administration will be “embarrassed” when all those Americans they eagerly and publicly condemned as traitors and seditionists and insurrectionists walk on misdemeanor trespassing charges and the like. Won’t it be just awful that the legal system actually works and these people are not jailed because the majority of them did nothing more than wander into the Capitol building, mill around taking pics, and then leave? That will leave egg on the face of the Biden administration and make them look bad. So sad.”

    ————

And when the defense attorneys show the videos of Capital Police letting them in, good luck with those “trespassing” charges.

What a joke. For this the locked down DC for 3 months.

  4. Biden lies again about Georgia’s new law, then tries to get MLB to boycott Atlanta for the All Star Game.

    Because that’s what Dems do.

“Biden Supports Moving MLB All-Star Game Out of Georgia, Repeats Lies About New Voting Law

As if we need more proof it’s all about the narrative and not the facts.”

“The latest shiny toy for the left is pressuring Major League Baseball to move its All-Star Game from Atlanta. GA, because of the new voting law.

They twist and lie about the law to fit their agenda. Of course, President Joe Biden spat out the same lies on ESPN.”

The Washington Post called out Biden on his lies.”

  5. Hedge fund operators against civic-minded billionaires.

Let’s hope there are no winners.

    https://newsni.com/as-us-newspapers-slide-toward-abyss-a-bidding-war-breaks-out/

“Even as US newspapers sink toward an abyss, an unusual bidding war has broken out for a major chain, pitting hedge fund operators against civic-minded billionaires seeking to promote a nonprofit model for the struggling industry.

Tribune Publishing, which owns the Chicago Tribune, Baltimore Sun and other big regional dailies, was set to sell the company to Alden Global Capital at a value of $630 million, a move that would expand the news operations of the hedge fund with a reputation for aggressive cutting of newsroom staff.

Maryland businessman Stewart Bainum had another idea: he initially struck a deal to buy the Baltimore Sun as part of the transaction, but when that plan hit a snag, made a $650 million offer for the entire chain.

Bainum, chairman of Choice Hotels, has pledged to put up $100 million, a sum match by two other wealthy investors. But it remained unclear if he can raise enough in time to head off the Tribune deal with Alden.

“Alden is offering a clean bid; they have cash and are waving it in front of the shareholders,” said Dan Kennedy, a Northeastern University journalism professor.

“It becomes complicated to ask shareholders to wait until (Bainum) can get his financing together.”

Joining Bainum’s effort was Swiss billionaire Hansjoerg Wyss, who told the New York Times he would invest $100 million; and Mason Slaine, a minority Tribune stakeholder and former CEO of Thomson Financial.

Slaine told the Wall Street Journal he would commit the same amount to acquire the Orlando Sentinel and Sun-Sentinel in his state of Florida.

Amid efforts to find buyers for other Tribune dailies, a “mystery” investor has emerged for the Morning Call offering $30 million to $40 million for the newspaper, according to the Allentown, Pennsylvania daily.

If Bainum succeeds, he would likely sell off some of the newspapers — which include the Hartford Courant and Virginian-Pilot — with some potentially becoming nonprofits.

    – Turning point? –”

    ———–

    Most likely?

No, it’s not a turning point. Not if you keep cranking out the same biased product that folks don’t want to read much less purchase first. The problem is your product sucks. The Morning Call is garbage, and likely stays that way no matter who owns it.

  6. If you believe the leftist media, Rep. Matt Gaetz is involved with a 17 yr. old girl.

But his version is much, much different and involves a Deep State extortionist.

    B. Final answer. Lies and slander, it’s all they have left.

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2021/04/rep-matt-gaetz-produces-documents-that-purport-to-backup-claims-of-bizarre-extortion-scheme/

“Gaetz Produces Documents That Purport to Backup Claims of Bizarre Extortion Scheme

“a plan that can make [Matt Gaetz’s] future legal and political problems go away””

“Yesterday, we brought you the strange extortion tale of Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz, detailed by his unusual appearance on the Tucker Carlson show.

Since then, Gaetz has provided a flurry of documents, texts, and other forms of evidence, backing up his claim that his family was being extorted.”

“Emily Brooks and Joseph Simonson of the Washington Examiner have the story:

Documents detail wild alleged $25M Gaetz extortion scheme

Rep. Matt Gaetz possesses text message screenshots, an email, and a typed document that purportedly support his claims that a federal investigation into his relationship with a 17-year-old is related to an extortion scheme against him.

On Tuesday, the New York Times reported that the Justice Department is investigating whether Gaetz had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old and paid her to travel with him. Gaetz has called the report “totally false.” Gaetz told Axios that his lawyers told him that he “was not a target but a subject of an investigation regarding sexual conduct with women.”

The Florida Republican countered the report on Twitter and in statements to Axios and Fox News with a claim that his family is being extorted for $25 million and that the people pushing stories about an investigation into his relationships with women are the people extorting him and the subjects of an FBI extortion investigation over the last few weeks.

The documents in Gaetz’s possession detail an alleged scheme that revolves around attempts by former Air Force intelligence officer Bob Kent and Beggs & Lane attorney David McGee, a former federal prosecutor, to free ex-FBI agent-turned-private investigator Robert Levinson from imprisonment in Iran…”

    Gaetz named names too.

    https://redstate.com/joesquire/2021/03/30/gaetz-to-tucker-carlson-sex-trafficking-allegation-verifiably-false-names-alleged-blackmailer-n353035

“Hours after the New York Times broke a story on the Justice Department investigating sex trafficking allegations against Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fl.), Gaetz appeared on Fox News’ Tucker to refute the claims.

Asked about the story by Tucker Carlson, Gaetz says “It is a horrible allegation, and it is a lie.”

Gaetz reiterated claims made on Twitter and elsewhere that the allegations stem from a former Justice Department official who was attempting to blackmail him. That official, who Gaetz named as “David McGee,” contacted Gaetz’s father, according to the Republican House member.

Gaetz says his family went to the local FBI in Florida, who then asked his father to wear a wire in his next meeting with the extortionist, who wanted millions of dollars in a “down payment” for the ransom.

The original reporting by the New York Times was confirmed by three unnamed sources. Through our Managing Editor, Jennifer Van Laar, RedState has confirmed that Gaetz’s father did indeed wear a wire during the course of an investigation.

In the Times‘ original story, Gaetz is alleged to have traveled with an unnamed 17-year-old girl and the Justice Department’s investigation allegedly is centered around this travel, which appears to include sexual relations and compensation and is tied to a Gaetz ally, Joel Greenberg. During the interview with Carlson, Gaetz says his travel records can prove no such trips took place.

The Republican, who is an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump, says he is the target of a smear campaign in an attempt to remove him from power. “

  9. Why do Republicans not understand the concept of private property? If an airline insists you provide proof of vaccination prior to boarding, they can do so. Its their plane. Similarily for any other business — its their property. Gov’ts can regulate property for general welfare and safety — hence zoning, building codes, air traffic control etc, but in the end the owner can increase the health and safety standards. And if employers can dictate dress code, safety rules, etc than an employer can dictate vaccination rules. In fact many already do; proof of TB and Hep B vaccines are common requirements for a job including mine. I’m quite sure I’ll have to provide proof of a Covid shot soon enough.

Airlines often enforce rules that pertain to the destination and in many cases if they don’t they become liable for the passenger and their return. Canada and the US both mandate that illegal migrants arriving by an airline are the responsibility of the airline –and thus include severe fines. Hence the long lines at boarding gates in European airports for North American flights. As for vaccines, many African countries require malaria shots for people of European origin and some Carribbean companies requiure proof of Hep B shots.

People have the freedom and right not to vaccinate but they don’t have the right to infrect others hence there are consquences to exercising their rights — employment, travel, and education opportunities may suffer.

  10. The Gaetz fiasco has produced a Tucker Carlson that even Carlson though was off the rails. The look on Carlson’s face when Gaetz mentioned a dinner he had with him and his wife along with Gaetz’s date was priceless. He couldn’t spit out the denial fast enough.

The story I read is Barr authorized an investigation of Greenberg, a municipal politician, for allegations he made of his opponent which he tried to back up with fake letters he wrote pretending to be an underage girl. The probe widened to include stalking, fake IDs and sex trafficking. Since Gaetz appears to be a good friend he was caught in the web. Most of this investigation occured under Barr’s watch not the present admin and Republicans seem to want little to do with Gaetz.

Right now he seems to be employing throw everything out there to create confusion defense. In the end, public opinion and manipulation will hopefully matter not and the courts will process the various allegations. Greenberg is probably going down and the question is will he take Gaetz with him. I’d be more convinced of Gaetz’s innocence if either he or Greenberg started filing lawsuits but I don’t see that happening. Even Gaetz admitted to Carlson that he payed for dinners and hotel rooms for his dates — the question is were there tips, were the dates of age, did they cross state lines, did he use campaign funds or office funds? Even if the “dates” were adults something tells me he doesn’t want the above questions answered.

  11. Some insurrectionists will recieve jail time — stealing Pelosi’s laptop will get you that, as will assaulting and killing police. Yes, beating a man with a heart condition does not exempt you from a manslaughter charge (as does kneeing on someone’s throat for 9 mins even if they are high). Those breaking windows and doors down might also be charged with B & E which usually carries a jail term. As for tresspass, the vast majority forced thier way in and even if the police step aside this is not permission; any reasonable person could understand the stepping aside was due to being overwhelmed and any reasonable person could understand that entering the legislative floor and wandering among the seats, taking pictures of documents, is at the very least trespassing. Its puzzling how the party which proclaims itself the law and order party actively seeks to minimize ilegal behaviour.

Meanwhile the Republican response to the record voter turnout in 2020 is to make it tougher to vote. Almost all Republican controlled state legislatures have passed more stringent rules govering voting. The Georgian rules appear to be the toughest. Its hard to understand exactly what the rules are since various media outlets give different accounts. For example, the law barring people from giving water to people waiting in line is said by some to be not included in the final draft but not by others. The bizarre thing is that this was even considered — barring people from giving thirsty people water? “I was thirsty and you gave me drink” except in a Georgia voting line. And the underlying premise is even more bizarre; the Republican party is assuming there will be long lines taking hours to vote and they assume those line ups will only be in areas that vote Democrat. Are they planning long lines in certain areas?

  12. hwesseli: A vaccine passport (yet no voter ID)? It’s a terrible idea, and we do have a Constitution…

What gives you the idea that healthy people are going to infect others? And do you not reaiize that people who have already been fully ‘vaccinated’ have since then caught Covid and infected others? So the point is then what, exactly? We can’t allow corporations to dictate freedom of travel for no good reason.

Anyway, for such travelers, why wouldn’t a simple Antigen test be sufficient? We know why…

  13. I agree corporations have too much power. I believe Bernie, Warren and AOC have some good ideas to limit their power.

Vaccines work when the vast majority of the population are innoculated. Measles made a comeback because too many parents did not vaccinate their children. Even those who have a measles vaccine can carry it and infect others — there has to be “herd immunity” this breaksdown when people don’t participate for whatever reason.

“CDC walks back claim that vaccinated people can’t carry COVID-19”

“The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has walked back the claim made by its director that vaccinated people don’t carry the coronavirus.

CDC chief Rochelle Walensky said earlier this week that “vaccinated people do not carry the virus, don’t get sick.”

But the health agency clarified the statement Thursday, saying “the evidence isn’t clear” and that Walensky was “speaking broadly.”

“It’s possible that some people who are fully vaccinated could get COVID-19,” a CDC spokesperson told the New York Times. “The evidence isn’t clear whether they can spread the virus to others. We are continuing to evaluate the evidence.””

    https://apnews.com/article/virus-vaccine-johnson-and-johnson-emergent-biosolutions-d9edd171f8013e17c0be8b13a6db7fed

“The company at the center of quality problems that led Johnson & Johnson to discard 15 million doses of its coronavirus vaccine has a string of citations from U.S. health officials for quality control problems.

Emergent BioSolutions, a little-known company vital to the vaccine supply chain, was a key to Johnson & Johnson’s plan to deliver 100 million doses of its single-shot vaccine to the United States by the end of May. But the Food and Drug Administration repeatedly has cited Emergent for problems such as poorly trained employees, cracked vials and problems managing mold and other contamination around one of its facilities, according to records obtained by The Associated Press through the Freedom of Information Act. The records cover inspections at Emergent facilities since 2017.

Johnson & Johnson said Wednesday that a batch of vaccine made by Emergent at its Baltimore factory, known as Bayview, cannot be used because it did not meet quality standards. It was unclear how the problem would affect future deliveries of J&J’s vaccine. The company said in a statement it was still planning to deliver 100 million doses by the end of June and was “aiming to deliver those doses by the end of May.”

“Human errors do happen,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, said Thursday in an interview on CBS’ “This Morning.” “You have checks and balances. … That’s the reason why the good news is that it did get picked up. As I mentioned, that’s the reason nothing from that plant has gone into anyone that we’ve administered to.”

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday that none of the J&J vaccine doses on the market are affected and the company was on track to deliver 24 million doses in April and 100 million doses by the end of May.

“These are doses that the U.S. government has purchased, but we also have plenty of doses from Pfizer and Moderna, regardless, Psaki said.””

  19. I looked up the definition of vaccine in several places, both technical and popular, and they were all similar to this from merriam-webster.com:

a preparation that is administered (as by injection) to stimulate the body’s immune response against a specific infectious disease.

  20. AJ — looking elsewhere for a false equivalency does not absolve Gaetz. The questions are simple; did he have sex with a minor, did he transport a minor and others across the state line for illegal purposes, did he use campaign funds, etc. Whether others did something similar is a moot point.

Ty — Drawing a distinction between different vaccines is splitting hairs. The simple fact is governments and corporations have requred vaccines as a matter of public health and safety or simply to keep their health costs down, The Covid vaccine will be no different.

Nancy — I’m of two minds on retail stores and discrimination. On one hand, discriminating on the basis of race, orientation, ethnicity, etc is repellent but on the other hand I want to know the political and social views of a corporation so I know where I should spend my money. Private businesses should be allowed to discriminate — and the people have the right to “cancel” them.

  21. Perhaps the thinking concerns that it is not based on the actual virus as other vaccines are based on (to my feeble understanding) but is based on a different technology than previous vaccines. It is definitely a preventative, but in a class by itself. I think it is somehow based on a protein that allows entry of the virus into a person’s system (or something like that). Maybe we can call it the poke like the Brittish do and that name could distinguish it.😀

  22. Being that airlines, restaurants etc would require a customer to divulge their personal medical record in order to use said services seems to me it should be illegal. Any company should not be allowed to demand such documentation. And it is a slippery slope….Just my opinion
Jack Phillips has been targeted by the homosexual activists…and any thinking person knows exactly what is going on there. But they just keep on and will until they get a judgement against him…just like in Oregon with Sweet Cakes. Harassment until they find a Judge in their pocket to give them a win. Why not just boycott those businesses? Because that is not their goal…..
Concerning the covid shot being compared to other types of vaccines I just think there is deception and deliberate confusion being spewed by too many. Seems like a lot of control is being sought over the lives of a lot of people.

  23. Kevin B. @4:26: The COVID-19 ‘vaccine’ really isn’t a vaccine according to the medical definition of a vaccine. It does not improve one’s immune response to the infection, nor does it limit you from getting the infection. It’s really an experimental gene therapy that could actually prematurely kill large amounts of the population and disable exponentially more. We’ve already seen evidence of this in news reports – many have died of unknown causes within days, and sometimes within hours of getting the first or second shot.

In calling their drugs vaccines, they have actually bypassed the safety studies. They have also bypassed the normal process of FDA approval (calling it “emergency use”). We the people are the guinea pigs, and they have no liability!
