Prayer Requests 1-8-21

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 130

A song of ascents.

Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;
Lord, hear my voice.
   Let your ears be attentive
    to my cry for mercy.

If you, Lord, kept a record of sins,
    Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness,
so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
I wait for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.

Israel, put your hope in the Lord,
for with the Lord is unfailing love
and with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel
    from all their sins.

  1. I am sorry to hear of the sad death of the 27 year old and the positive Covid tests. I have been praying.

My extended family is in big distress with a whole lot of words being flung about. I have to meet one of the family for a hand off of an item. Pray I speak with restraint and wisdom. All that has been said is emails or texts. I am not sure if the sun light on hurt feelings, presumptions, lies etc. if the best thing or not. It is out there, though. Fortunately, there is also a call for peace and love and for doing what God would want. Only He knows what will happen in the future. We will still have a funeral to do in the spring or summer.

  2. Also just read Michelle’s request from yesterday and praying for Stan and his family. Stan is the elderly man whose wife had been released from the hospital to come home and die of Covid in his arms, and now he has it too.

  3. Thank the Lord and all you who prayed for me. I was able to give the whole gospel message and talk about forgiveness. Whether it will be accepted is another issue. I ask for prayer that it will be. If so, something good would come out of what was meant for evil.

  4. So many with Covid that you all know and now RK and Miguel. Praying.

The funeral for the family that was killed in the helicopter crash is today. Please pray for the three children left behind. My sister is struggling as they cannot even live stream the funeral as this family was loved by so very very many that they fear that people will just show up once they know when/where it is. They will make a memorial video of the funeral.

  5. Flyboy’s girlfriend “H” learned she had been exposed to someone with Covid on Sunday. Fortunately for us, she and Flyboy had not been together since Saturday. She has been tested and is indeed positive for Covid, with mild symptoms starting yesterday. So please add “H” to the Covid prayer list.

  6. Speaking of Flyboy (age 23), I’ve shared before that a couple years ago he had decided he didn’t believe in God any more. A few weeks ago he told us he was exploring his Christian faith again, and open to finding it real after all. 🙂

He also told us that the young couple he had been best man for a few months ago are both active and outspoken Christians, and have deeply impressed him with their faith. We knew that he had met the young man doing a class project together in college and had become very good friends, but we had no idea that he and his girlfriend/fiancee/wife were believers.

So while we had stepped back from trying to persuade Flyboy about the truth, and while we were praying for him, God brought other people into his life to draw him back. We are hopeful. Please remember him too.

  7. The Vs are all recovered from COVID and healthy. As a precaution, they tested the asymptomatic Father–who tested positive. Mrs. V goes back to work on Monday; Mr. V hopes his employer will allow for another week off to care for Father.

No news on my uncle, so we figure he’s getting better.

Franz arrived in Denver this morning and is checking in for his massive rehab. I’m still praying for healing of his spinal cord, millimeter by millimeter.

It’s been a deflating day on the COVID front. 😦

  8. I joined in prayer for all of the above.
For some reason, my computer won’t let me “Like” anything.
    Weell?
I can, but I have to sign in and prove who I am for every statement.

  9. Frustrating, Chas.

My daughter and family will have to travel for the funeral for the niece and nephew killed in the car crash by the guy fleeing the police. It will be next week and is an evening and then next morning service. I think there may be appointments for some of it. This is a funeral where there would be hundreds of people. Daughter is a little stressed to be taking all the family and mingling with family during this covid season. They are trying to at least get a hotel room. Prayers for wisdom and healing there.

    So very much grief.
