“Federal Court Is Fast-Tracking Sidney Powell’s Request For A Forensic Exam Of Dominion Voting Machines”
“A federal appeals court in Georgia has approved an expedited review of pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell’s request for a forensic review of voting machines in three counties.
Powell filed a lawsuit last week alleging that Dominion Election Systems voting machines used in the 2020 election in Georgia are insecure and allow foreign agents to meddle in the U.S. election. U.S. District Judge Timothy Batten Sr. issued an order on Sunday restricting officials in Georgia’s Cherokee, Cobb, and Gwinnett counties from resetting Dominion Election Systems voting machines because of the lawsuit.
“Defendants are hereby ENJOINED and RESTRAINED from altering, destroying, or erasing, or allowing the alteration, destruction, or erasure of, any software or data on any Dominion voting machine in Cobb, Gwinnett, and Cherokee Counties,” Batten’s order said. “This temporary restraining order shall remain in effect for ten days, or until further order of the Court, whichever comes first.”
Batten did not grant Powell an immediate audit of the Dominion voting machines, however, and allowed her to appeal that decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. The federal appeals court plans to expedite hearings on Powell’s request, according to Bloomberg.
Georgia has had a slew of election-related troubles this cycle, the latest of which has caused election officials in Fulton County to rescan 12,000 ballots. Georgia Republican Party Chair David Shafer announced the partial recount on Wednesday night.”

The New York Post: Biden’s negotiations with Iran “would involve the US lifting the President Trump-era sanctions.”
“Joe Biden plans to reenter the Obama-era nuclear deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran if he takes office next month, he told the New York Times in an article published on Wednesday.
Biden told the NYT that under his administration, “in consultation with our allies and partners, we’re going to engage in negotiations and follow-on agreements to tighten and lengthen Iran’s nuclear constraints, as well as address the missile program.”
He suggested a Democrat-run White House will also offer the lifting of sanctions on Tehran as part of the negotiations.
President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal in May 2018 and placed crippling economic sanctions on Iran, the world’s biggest state sponsor of terrorism.
The New York Post reported the comments made by the Democratic presidential candidate:
[Biden] made the admission during a wide-ranging interview with New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who pressed Biden on where he stood with regard to Iran.
Asked if he still stood by a September op-ed he authored where he argued in favor of rejoining the Obama-era accords “as a starting point for follow-on negotiations,” Biden said he did.
“It’s going to be hard, but yeah,” he remarked. At the time, he had argued that, “if Iran returns to strict compliance with the nuclear deal, the United States would rejoin the agreement as a starting point for follow-on negotiations” under his presidency.
The next steps would involve the US lifting the President Trump-era sanctions.
Biden’s overtures to the Mullahs in Iran come amid a coordinated campaign by the European Union and the European powers, namely the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, to revive the Obama-sponsored nuclear agreement. Earlier this week, a group of influential European politicians and diplomats issued a statement calling the “incoming Biden administration” to draw a “road map” for the U.S. reentry into the nuclear deal, European media reported.”

They filed this lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Division.
Bill Brock, Trump’s lead counsel in the Wisconsin federal suit, said the campaign accuses the officials of breaking “Wisconsin Election Code” in the recount:
“The United States Constitution prevents the rules in a Presidential Election from being changed at the last minute by un-elected bureaucrats and local politicians who may have a more narrow interest in the outcome of the election. Nothing is more important to our national fabric and future than integrity in our electoral process. This lawsuit is one-step in the direction of fairer, more transparent, more professional and ultimately more reliable elections in America.”
The lawsuit names Wisconsin Secretary of State Douglas La Follette, but a Wisconsin elections clerk noted on Twitter that the secretary “had nothing to do with election administration” along with the City of Milwaukee Clerk.
The woman mentioned the lawsuit only named five of the six Wisconsin Elections Commission members. It did not name Julie Glancey.
The campaign noted these key allegations within the lawsuit:
-Directives by the Wisconsin Elections Commission undercutting Wisconsin’s Photo Identification Law.
-A Plan by the Mayors of Wisconsin’s five largest cities (Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha, Green Bay and Racine) and funded by an out-of-state organization known as the Center for Tech & Civic Life to implement a new form of balloting in Wisconsin using un-manned, absentee ballot drop boxes without adequate or uniform chain of custody standards and security protocols contrary to the Wisconsin Election Code.
-Directives by the Wisconsin Elections Commission that facilitated the unlawful, un-manned absentee ballot drop box Plan by endorsing illegal drop boxes (which were then ultimately used throughout the State in the election), failing to adopt uniform chain of custody and security protocols for the ballots in the drop boxes and failing to ensure public access to the process.
-Directives by the Wisconsin Elections Commission to election officials to tamper with witness certifications on absentee ballot envelopes which facilitated the counting of unlawful ballots in the election in violation of the Wisconsin Election Code.
The campaign already asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to throw out 221,000 ballots in Dane and Milwaukee counties.”
“The firm hired by Georgia’s secretary of state to conduct an “audit” of Dominion Voting Systems technology used during the 2020 elections is the same one that previously certified the Dominion systems and also approved a last-minute system-wide software change just weeks before the election.”
“Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp is calling for a signature audit after video footage emerged allegedly showing Fulton County poll workers counting ballots without monitors present.”
AJ – There is indeed discussion on MakeItMan’s post about that video. Someone shared this, an explanation of what was going on:
“They were not unsupervised. The person in the blue shirt is a monitor from the Republican Secretary of State’s office.
What happened is at 10pm, the Fulton County Board of Elections announced they were sending most everyone home. The Republicans decided that meant everyone was leaving, but that is not what was said. The Fulton County Board of Elections and the Secretary of State both attest that it was made clear they were sending most people home, not everyone home.
The Secretary of State’s monitor stayed to observe.
Nothing nefarious was seen.
The monitor left to grab a drink and the GOP has selectively cut the video to make it look like the monitor left completely. He did not. The Secretary of State, the monitor, and the people there all confirm he was gone for only a few minutes. The Republican board member for the Fulton County Board of Elections also confirms this.
These audits are the only way to ensure a fair election happened. Let. It. Play. Out. This is the procedure. Erickson and his never-Trump buddies doth protest too much. They ought to shut up and let the process run it’s course.

Federal candidates only. Paper ballots. No computers. Hand-counted with both parties watching every vote. Only registered voters. Photo ID to prove residence. Conducted safely with everyone wearing masks and six feet apart, just like we did in Ohio.”

Janice – No, I am not a Democrat. Not quite a Libertarian, either. I guess I am a conservative-leaning moderate, kind of libertarian-ish, or some such thing. I do hope that the Senate tips towards Republican control, mostly to keep the more radical of the Democrats in check, but I’m also not thrilled with a lot of Republicans.
But it doesn’t matter which outcome I prefer. There are those who are strongly Republican and yet are not convinced that all these fraud allegations are completely true.
Btw (to AJ, too, and whomever else this may concern), those (such as also MakeItMan) who are doubting that there was enough fraud to flip the election to Trump are not saying that there was “no fraud”.
Janice – To add to what I just said about my preference not being relevant – What I was getting at, but am not sure how to say without sounding offensive (and I would certainly not want to offend you) is that our preferences and views should not affect what we believe about various issues like this. If we choose to only believe sources and articles and such that bolster our own views and biases, then it is not truth we are after.
When this is all over, it may come out that there was indeed more fraud than many are seeing. But so far, even many staunch conservatives and Republicans are also doubting that it is as bad as others are saying. But their explanations of what others are seeing are being dismissed.

Kizzie: The video shows four different views from four cameras in the room. Not only does it show the illegal ballot counting, but it also backs up the numerous complaints that poll watchers were not given meaningful access to view, and possibly challenge, the votes in the hours before the counting was ‘stopped’.
Tablecloths are normally used for meals – otherwise they are only used for concealment. Official cases of ballots don’t get hidden under a table. The cases were unlike any of the official cases, perhaps made to appear to simply be equipment cases. Normally, no ballots get counted after counting is declared over and everybody sent home.
The people in this video need to be brought before a judge, and answers need to be obtained by all means possible. Some of those folks will most likely be going to prison, at a minimum.
No major network has covered this, and Facebook Fact Check has flagged the video when people posted it. Censorship at its finest…

Erickson is a known liar who’s opinion changes to back whoever’s in power. He was NT, then he was for Trump, now he’s for Biden and already said Trump should concede and would cost R’s the Senate. He’s hardly a neutral member of the press. Dishonest hack is more accurate.

Kizzie, I was wondering about which way the Libertarians would lean since now they only have to choose between a Republican or Democrat in the runoff election for Senators. Or would they choose not to vote? If the Libertarian had not run then we might not be doing the runoff. I don’t know. You are the main person who, if I remember correctly from a while back, was suggesting people consider the Libertarian. That made me think you might know.
I understand you want everybody to consider both sides because from human logic it seems the truth could be found in the middle. But I don’t think it works that way. I think we may be more influenced by our past experiences in life when choosing who to believe in politics. Having lived where I live for almost seventy years and knowing the players I have good reason to accept the stories of fraud. As an accountant, in my past experience, I am aware of how numbers can be manipulated or misreported. I am not at all surprised that there would be fraud in these large metro counties. What surprises me is that with only 10,000 votes separating the winner from the loser here that people say there could not have been enough fraud to change the outcome. There are so many things wrong with the broken system that unless there is a full audit then who could know? Why are Democrats so not wanting that unless they think fraud may be revealed? The people I know all want the truth revealed here. Except my Democratic warrior woman state Senator seemed to think it was a waste of time. I think if you had been here all these years you’d be more likely to see things differently, too.

It should be remembered that none of Trump’s lawyers are willing to say “fraud” in court. Its just not legitimate enough.
Also, its fairly common to view Trump’s allegations against others as a description of what he would or has done. John Dean of Nixon fame has suggested that his complaint that the election was rigged comes from the fact that Trump tried to rig the election yet was still beaten. For Trump, the only explanation was that Biden had rigged the election better than him rather than people hated him so much they were motivated to come out in record numbers.
Republican supporters have become so convinced that fraud has been a Democratic tradition that they think its easy to do. In Penn, two people were arrested for requesting a mail in ballot for a dead relative, after all, the dead vote according to the GOP. Instead they found out the state does check if the request is valid and the voter is alive. Recently, a Florida GOP county chairman believing the rhetoric about out of state voters registered as a Georgia voter and was requesting a mail in ballot for the Senate run-off. He’s now being investigated for voter fraud. The truth is US elections are secure and fraud is almost impossible — as the DHS, the DOJ and the AG have all stated.
Janice – If they have to choose between voting for a Democrat or a Republican, some Libertarians will go one way, and others will go the other way. They are split between former Republicans and former Democrats, and many have always been Libertarian. There are also those, which I would be closer to, who consider themselves “small L libertarians”. (I had to use the capital L because the small one looks like a capital I.)
I know Christians who are Republicans and Christians who are Democrats. Both parties have roots in issues that are important to the faith. How they’re applied, by both parties, tend to be deeply flawed, of course.
There’s no perfect political party. They’re both messy. And inconsistent. They both covet and pursue power, sometimes for altruistic reasons, but not always. And power always corrupts, or so it seems in this world.
We vote and take part in our nation’s participatory government with gratitude that we have such a privilege. But we shouldn’t ever start thinking it’s the answer or end-all and be-all to making the world or our communities “right” in the big picture sense. We should vote and by voting we hope to improve the plight of our nation and our communities, our neighbors. Sometimes we are conflicted, some of us deeply, about the choices the two parties offer us in any given election. We make the best choice we can, and it will always be the proverbial “lesser of two evils” in this world.

In his book ‘The Garden of Knowledge’, which takes an in-depth look at what really happened back in the Garden of Eden, Rabbi Shalom Arush puts it like this: “The correction of the world depends on humility…since mutual respect, peace and harmony all stem from humility.” To put it another way, every time we accept our own limitations and try to put God more in the picture, we are taking a huge step towards fixing the original sin. ~

I’d take some issue with the ‘solution’ or correction as it’s stated here — it must begin with faith in Christ. But I think humility and mutual respect are important values to seek to practice as we participate in the secular sphere. We’re not all going to agree, even here (obviously, lol.)
AJ – FTR, I don’t generally know who is a Never-Trumper and who is not. I like and agree with pieces by those you call Never-Trumpers, and I like and agree with pieces by those who are pro-Trump. I even sometimes like and agree with pieces by liberals (gasp!). Although I don’t like the man myself, I have shared on Facebook at least a couple articles that defending Trump when he was unfairly criticized or accused (although I can’t recall exactly what those issues were).
Thinking of that reminded me of the first post I had shared by Erickson a few days ago. I went back on my Facebook page to find it. You referred to him as a Never-Trumper, and yet he had written, “I say this as a supporter and donor of the President’s re-election effort.”
Janice – I keep refraining from writing all that is in my mind, and then coming back and writing it after all. 🙂 So here’s a little more on your 5:28 comment:
It’s not that I think the truth is always in the middle somewhere. Sometimes it is, but often the truth is definitely on one side or the other. But also often, the truth happens to be on the side we would like to disagree with. Liberals are not always wrong, and conservatives are not always right. But for some reason, we tend to divide issues that aren’t even necessarily political into liberal vs. conservative. Many on each side cling to their side’s views, and think the people with the opposite views are obviously sheep or uninformed or ignorant.
So my (or others’) questioning about how awful the fraud really was is not necessarily because we are anti-Trump. Even Erick Erickson, who wrote the piece I shared earlier, is a Trump supporter and donated to his campaign.
What comes to mind is this: “The truth is the truth, whether we like it or not.”
That is a sentence that dropped into my heart (by the Holy Spirit, I believe) 35 or so years ago when I was becoming a believer, but wanted to reject traditional, biblical Christian theology. It led me to reject what I wanted to believe and embrace the Truth. (In case anyone misunderstands, I am not comparing believing the truth of the Bible to believing one way or another about this election. This is just an aside related to the sentence that came to mind.)
I am willing to change my mind on the fraud matter. My views on this are not entrenched, or politically motivated.

It does, indeed, exist. It’s “finable” and knowable. But not always easy to discern. But it’s there.
And it’s not always in complete alignment with our secular politics.

HRW, anecdotal evidence that individual people attempted to vote fraudulently (and were kept from doing so) proves nothing except that it doesn’t always work.
In Chicago, a friend of mine saw absentee ballots in her mother’s name come to her house several times after her mother died, even after the daughter attempted to get her mother’s name removed from the voter rolls. Would anyone have checked if she had used the ballots?
Chicago doesn’t require ID to vote. When I’d go to the polling place, at my address I could see names of several people who had lived there in the past but no longer lived there. I could read the names upside down and see that they hadn’t yet been crossed out. It would be fairly easy to drive from precinct to precinct with two or three people and have each person claim a name from the list and vote in that person’s place. And if that person happens to show up later, the poll workers would say “Sorry but it looks like you already voted.” I moved out of Chicago 17 years ago, but it wouldn’t shock me if my name is still listed at that address.
That’s Chicago, where dirty politics are well known to be the name of the game. Do you think anyone would go after a Democratic voter who took advantage of some of these easily exploited loopholes in Chicago? I don’t.

Batten did not grant Powell an immediate audit of the Dominion voting machines, however, and allowed her to appeal that decision to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. The federal appeals court plans to expedite hearings on Powell’s request, according to Bloomberg.
Georgia has had a slew of election-related troubles this cycle, the latest of which has caused election officials in Fulton County to rescan 12,000 ballots. Georgia Republican Party Chair David Shafer announced the partial recount on Wednesday night.”

The woman mentioned the lawsuit only named five of the six Wisconsin Elections Commission members. It did not name Julie Glancey.
The campaign noted these key allegations within the lawsuit:
-Directives by the Wisconsin Elections Commission undercutting Wisconsin’s Photo Identification Law.
-A Plan by the Mayors of Wisconsin’s five largest cities (Milwaukee, Madison, Kenosha, Green Bay and Racine) and funded by an out-of-state organization known as the Center for Tech & Civic Life to implement a new form of balloting in Wisconsin using un-manned, absentee ballot drop boxes without adequate or uniform chain of custody standards and security protocols contrary to the Wisconsin Election Code.

-Directives by the Wisconsin Elections Commission to election officials to tamper with witness certifications on absentee ballot envelopes which facilitated the counting of unlawful ballots in the election in violation of the Wisconsin Election Code.
The campaign already asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to throw out 221,000 ballots in Dane and Milwaukee counties.”

Janice – No, I am not a Democrat. Not quite a Libertarian, either. I guess I am a conservative-leaning moderate, kind of libertarian-ish, or some such thing. I do hope that the Senate tips towards Republican control, mostly to keep the more radical of the Democrats in check, but I’m also not thrilled with a lot of Republicans.
But it doesn’t matter which outcome I prefer. There are those who are strongly Republican and yet are not convinced that all these fraud allegations are completely true.
Btw (to AJ, too, and whomever else this may concern), those (such as also MakeItMan) who are doubting that there was enough fraud to flip the election to Trump are not saying that there was “no fraud”.

Janice – To add to what I just said about my preference not being relevant – What I was getting at, but am not sure how to say without sounding offensive (and I would certainly not want to offend you) is that our preferences and views should not affect what we believe about various issues like this. If we choose to only believe sources and articles and such that bolster our own views and biases, then it is not truth we are after.
When this is all over, it may come out that there was indeed more fraud than many are seeing. But so far, even many staunch conservatives and Republicans are also doubting that it is as bad as others are saying. But their explanations of what others are seeing are being dismissed.

Kizzie: The video shows four different views from four cameras in the room. Not only does it show the illegal ballot counting, but it also backs up the numerous complaints that poll watchers were not given meaningful access to view, and possibly challenge, the votes in the hours before the counting was ‘stopped’.
Tablecloths are normally used for meals – otherwise they are only used for concealment. Official cases of ballots don’t get hidden under a table. The cases were unlike any of the official cases, perhaps made to appear to simply be equipment cases. Normally, no ballots get counted after counting is declared over and everybody sent home.
The people in this video need to be brought before a judge, and answers need to be obtained by all means possible. Some of those folks will most likely be going to prison, at a minimum.
No major network has covered this, and Facebook Fact Check has flagged the video when people posted it. Censorship at its finest…

Kizzie, I was wondering about which way the Libertarians would lean since now they only have to choose between a Republican or Democrat in the runoff election for Senators. Or would they choose not to vote? If the Libertarian had not run then we might not be doing the runoff. I don’t know. You are the main person who, if I remember correctly from a while back, was suggesting people consider the Libertarian. That made me think you might know.
I understand you want everybody to consider both sides because from human logic it seems the truth could be found in the middle. But I don’t think it works that way. I think we may be more influenced by our past experiences in life when choosing who to believe in politics. Having lived where I live for almost seventy years and knowing the players I have good reason to accept the stories of fraud. As an accountant, in my past experience, I am aware of how numbers can be manipulated or misreported. I am not at all surprised that there would be fraud in these large metro counties. What surprises me is that with only 10,000 votes separating the winner from the loser here that people say there could not have been enough fraud to change the outcome. There are so many things wrong with the broken system that unless there is a full audit then who could know? Why are Democrats so not wanting that unless they think fraud may be revealed? The people I know all want the truth revealed here. Except my Democratic warrior woman state Senator seemed to think it was a waste of time. I think if you had been here all these years you’d be more likely to see things differently, too.

It should be remembered that none of Trump’s lawyers are willing to say “fraud” in court. Its just not legitimate enough.
Also, its fairly common to view Trump’s allegations against others as a description of what he would or has done. John Dean of Nixon fame has suggested that his complaint that the election was rigged comes from the fact that Trump tried to rig the election yet was still beaten. For Trump, the only explanation was that Biden had rigged the election better than him rather than people hated him so much they were motivated to come out in record numbers.
Republican supporters have become so convinced that fraud has been a Democratic tradition that they think its easy to do. In Penn, two people were arrested for requesting a mail in ballot for a dead relative, after all, the dead vote according to the GOP. Instead they found out the state does check if the request is valid and the voter is alive. Recently, a Florida GOP county chairman believing the rhetoric about out of state voters registered as a Georgia voter and was requesting a mail in ballot for the Senate run-off. He’s now being investigated for voter fraud. The truth is US elections are secure and fraud is almost impossible — as the DHS, the DOJ and the AG have all stated.

Janice – If they have to choose between voting for a Democrat or a Republican, some Libertarians will go one way, and others will go the other way. They are split between former Republicans and former Democrats, and many have always been Libertarian. There are also those, which I would be closer to, who consider themselves “small L libertarians”. (I had to use the capital L because the small one looks like a capital I.)

I know Christians who are Republicans and Christians who are Democrats. Both parties have roots in issues that are important to the faith. How they’re applied, by both parties, tend to be deeply flawed, of course.
There’s no perfect political party. They’re both messy. And inconsistent. They both covet and pursue power, sometimes for altruistic reasons, but not always. And power always corrupts, or so it seems in this world.
We vote and take part in our nation’s participatory government with gratitude that we have such a privilege. But we shouldn’t ever start thinking it’s the answer or end-all and be-all to making the world or our communities “right” in the big picture sense. We should vote and by voting we hope to improve the plight of our nation and our communities, our neighbors. Sometimes we are conflicted, some of us deeply, about the choices the two parties offer us in any given election. We make the best choice we can, and it will always be the proverbial “lesser of two evils” in this world.

They (we…) thought we knew better than God, and that we were intellectually on a par with our Creator. So how do we fix all this? In his book ‘The Garden of Knowledge’, which takes an in-depth look at what really happened back in the Garden of Eden, Rabbi Shalom Arush puts it like this: “The correction of the world depends on humility…since mutual respect, peace and harmony all stem from humility.” To put it another way, every time we accept our own limitations and try to put God more in the picture, we are taking a huge step towards fixing the original sin. ~

I’d take some issue with the ‘solution’ or correction as it’s stated here — it must begin with faith in Christ. But I think humility and mutual respect are important values to seek to practice as we participate in the secular sphere. We’re not all going to agree, even here (obviously, lol.)

AJ – FTR, I don’t generally know who is a Never-Trumper and who is not. I like and agree with pieces by those you call Never-Trumpers, and I like and agree with pieces by those who are pro-Trump. I even sometimes like and agree with pieces by liberals (gasp!). Although I don’t like the man myself, I have shared on Facebook at least a couple articles that defending Trump when he was unfairly criticized or accused (although I can’t recall exactly what those issues were).
Thinking of that reminded me of the first post I had shared by Erickson a few days ago. I went back on my Facebook page to find it. You referred to him as a Never-Trumper, and yet he had written, “I say this as a supporter and donor of the President’s re-election effort.”

Janice – I keep refraining from writing all that is in my mind, and then coming back and writing it after all. 🙂 So here’s a little more on your 5:28 comment:
It’s not that I think the truth is always in the middle somewhere. Sometimes it is, but often the truth is definitely on one side or the other. But also often, the truth happens to be on the side we would like to disagree with. Liberals are not always wrong, and conservatives are not always right. But for some reason, we tend to divide issues that aren’t even necessarily political into liberal vs. conservative. Many on each side cling to their side’s views, and think the people with the opposite views are obviously sheep or uninformed or ignorant.
So my (or others’) questioning about how awful the fraud really was is not necessarily because we are anti-Trump. Even Erick Erickson, who wrote the piece I shared earlier, is a Trump supporter and donated to his campaign.
What comes to mind is this: “The truth is the truth, whether we like it or not.”
That is a sentence that dropped into my heart (by the Holy Spirit, I believe) 35 or so years ago when I was becoming a believer, but wanted to reject traditional, biblical Christian theology. It led me to reject what I wanted to believe and embrace the Truth. (In case anyone misunderstands, I am not comparing believing the truth of the Bible to believing one way or another about this election. This is just an aside related to the sentence that came to mind.)
I am willing to change my mind on the fraud matter. My views on this are not entrenched, or politically motivated.

It does, indeed, exist. It’s “finable” and knowable. But not always easy to discern. But it’s there.
And it’s not always in complete alignment with our secular politics.
I also am willing to change my mind on fraud (in terms of it being widespread enough in 2020 to change the outcome; on it’s existence, we have no disagreement there).

HRW, anecdotal evidence that individual people attempted to vote fraudulently (and were kept from doing so) proves nothing except that it doesn’t always work.
In Chicago, a friend of mine saw absentee ballots in her mother’s name come to her house several times after her mother died, even after the daughter attempted to get her mother’s name removed from the voter rolls. Would anyone have checked if she had used the ballots?
Chicago doesn’t require ID to vote. When I’d go to the polling place, at my address I could see names of several people who had lived there in the past but no longer lived there. I could read the names upside down and see that they hadn’t yet been crossed out. It would be fairly easy to drive from precinct to precinct with two or three people and have each person claim a name from the list and vote in that person’s place. And if that person happens to show up later, the poll workers would say “Sorry but it looks like you already voted.” I moved out of Chicago 17 years ago, but it wouldn’t shock me if my name is still listed at that address.
That’s Chicago, where dirty politics are well known to be the name of the game. Do you think anyone would go after a Democratic voter who took advantage of some of these easily exploited loopholes in Chicago? I don’t.
