“Justice Samuel Alito characterized lingering local and state coronavirus lockdowns Thursday as a “constitutional stress test” that are placing restrictions on liberty that were “previously unimaginable.”
“We have never before seen restrictions as severe, extensive and prolonged,” Alito said in a virtual speech to The Federalist Society, according to The Associated Press. He added that the lockdowns have introduced “previously unimaginable restrictions on individual liberty.”
Stressing his belief that the coronavirus is a real public health emergency, Alito went on to emphasize that the lockdowns are testing the limits of constitutional freedoms and bringing to the surface trends that have been percolating long before the pandemic. Alito warned that such measures must be kept from becoming a “recurring feature after the pandemic has passed.”
“The COVID crisis has served as a sort of constitutional stress test, and in doing so it has highlighted disturbing trends that were already present before the virus struck,” Alito said.
The justice, who was nominated to the Supreme Court in 2005 by President George W. Bush, pinpointed the curtailed religious liberty during the lockdowns as particularly worthy of concern. “It pains me to say this,” he said, “but in certain quarters, religious liberty is fast becoming a disfavored right.” He brought up the case that came before the court in July regarding a church in Nevada that was seeking relief regarding the state’s lockdown orders on houses of worship.”

~ ERIE, Pa.—President-elect Joe Biden successfully turned out voters in Erie County. But a look at his razor-thin margin of victory shows why Democrats struggled across the country to win back the white working-class voters who helped propel Donald Trump to victory four years ago.
Interviews with a swath of voters in the western Pennsylvania county show that many people still favor conservative positions on issues such as taxes, abortion and guns. They find progressive priorities tackling climate change, social justice and defunding the police too far left.
“I’m not totally on board with the liberal approach to economics and social problems,” said Robert Yates, 45, a home-health-care worker who backed Mr. Trump four years ago but voted for Mr. Biden to “bring back some normalcy and stability.”
In short, these voters say they soured on Trump, the man, rather than Trump policies. …
… “There’s more enthusiasm now for conservative values than there’s ever been,” said Jezree Friend, a state Republican Party committeeman and political consultant who lives in Erie and works for the Manufacturer & Business Association.

Democrats in Erie say they were determined to avoid the mistakes of 2016, when the county voted for a Republican presidential ticket for the first time since the 1980s. Unlike Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Biden visited Erie and talked to union members on October 10 at an apprenticeship-training facility for the plumbers union in Summit Township.
Joel Hobson, 33, a journeyman plumber, said the visit helped sway him to vote for the Democrat after he sat out the 2016 election. Mr. Hobson said he typically doesn’t pay attention to politics but was impressed by Mr. Biden’s support for unions. “That’s my livelihood,” he said. “If I knew he backed us, I was going to back him.” …
On Michelle Malkin’s Election update, she connects with Joe Oltmann, who, while seeking to uncover Antifa within the journalistic community, infiltrated an Antifa call in late September in which he first heard about Eric Coomer (a name you are going to hear a lot about in the coming weeks). Coomer is an executive at Dominion Voting Systems (which also partners with the Clinton Foundation). On the call, Coomer reassured other Leftists that Pres. Trump could not win because he “made sure of it.” As he was investigated further, it was found that he is rabidly anti-Trump and emphatically pro-Antifa. Not only was he rooting for Pres. Trump to lose, but he also wanted it to be by a huge margin so that there would be “no recounts.”

It’s fascinating that Dr. Cynthia McKinney who was our Representative and on the far left is now beating the drum against voting machine fraud. I was a poll worker when we first used electronic voting machines. They were from Diebold (sp?) which had Republican connections. Now she thinks she lost her seat because of those machines flipping votes in that election. But all of us Republicans voted in the Democratic primary to get her out. At that time she was so caustic. She was the one who assaulted a capitol police officer for not recognizing her and giving her entry to the building because she had changed her hairstyle. She went to CA and ran for President under the Green Party. I found out last night that while in CA she furthered her education and now teaches in Bangladesh. Trump scored roughly 64 percent of non-college whites in 2016, compared to 62 percent in 2020. Among non-college white men, the gap is even more profound: 71 percent in 2016 versus 64 percent in 2020. By contrast, the same data show Trump won between 6 percent and 8 percent of black voters in 2016 and 8 percent in 2020. After the First Step Act, the Platinum Plan, a soft touch on riots, and a Republican National Convention heavily focused on courting black voters, Trump improved his share of the black vote by just 2 to 4 percentage points. Trump improved with Latinos by 7 percentage points, though they constituted a smaller share of the overall electorate compared to 2016.
Put simply, while minorities supplement the coalition, this is still mainly a white working-class movement, something Shapiro, Rubio, and much of the GOP appear eager to downplay or dismiss.
White working-class Americans continue to constitute the largest component of America’s broad mass who do the work, hold the country together, and sustain the ruling class that despises them—all things Trump acknowledged on the road to the White House. Yet no one seems to remember them now, except to celebrate the fact that Trump won fewer of them this time around—a testament to the Republican Party’s diverse bona fides.
Now we are the “coalition of the ascendant,” elite Republicans crow, breathing a sigh of relief in the hope that maybe people won’t call us racist anymore. “That new coalition will be central to continued Republican success in the state,” Matt Dixon and Gary Fineout wrote in Politico regarding Florida, where Trump’s success with Latinos has been an occasion for a ticker-tape parade. White men, after all, are going extinct.
But those dying white men punched Trump’s ticket to the White House and, ironically, are likely the most significant reason Trump won Florida. “Trump’s largest base of support was, again, with white voters, who helped him outperform his 2016 showing in 32 mostly rural, white counties across the state,” Dixon and Fineout noted. “That support squeezed an additional 153,000 votes out of areas of the state that already backed Trump by wide margins.” That Biden underperformed with Latinos sealed the deal in the Sunshine State.
As many examples as there are of Trump picking up nonwhites in the Rust Belt and Sun Belt, there is substantial counterevidence that these same groups of voters helped Biden in those critical areas.
All of this is not to say that the 2016 election was a complete failure. It showed that it is, in fact, possible to run and win on the issues both parties eschew, that there is a broad desire for economic populism, immigration restrictionism, foreign policy restraint, for law and order, and for a president who is strong rather than effete. Trump single-handedly brought about the beginning of a realignment capable of achieving lasting dominance, regardless of whether his administration effectively prosecuted the mandate of that realignment.
America’s white working class continues to wait for a champion, someone who will not take the political capital their votes buy and squander it on progressive projects and old dogma by another name. Trump’s moment could be the beginning of something far more significant than the man himself if we are willing to hammer it free of the dross so that the mandate does not become a mausoleum of hope and desire.”

As Janice points out; years ago Democrats blamed Diebold and now Republicans blame Dominion. Both were without direct evidence and as the Diebold conspiracy died a slow death on the internet so will Dominion. To suggest Dominion executives are pro anitfa makes these conspiracies as even more ridiculous. Corporations are more interested in profit and brand reputation — they won’t risk cheating for one group or other. The DHS has already states this was the most secure and fair election.
As for the other lawsuits, Trump lawyers have lost 16 — when you have to utter the phrase a “non zero number” you know you have nothing. Legal firms are dropping out and lawyers are far more circumspect in the court than in the press. For the most part, this refusal to lose with grace is more about one last grift or con — Trump and friends are fundraising for his legal fees — most of this money will eventually find its way to his PAC and from there it will be spent on his own companies.
I get the impression that there are those among us that prefer to see Trump lose than to be sure of the integrity of the vote. Saying something is so in hopes that wishful thinking will make it so never works. That is exactly what the media does by calling the vote before it has been certified. And those who were against Trump follow in lockstep with their believing in the media rather than in waiting to hear the final certified result. I continue to pray for God’s truth and will to be done. He has the final say as to who will be in the highest office of our nation. I accept His choice which has yet to be declared. He may have reasons I can not fathom to let Biden win. If so, so be it. God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. But from what we learn about God in the Bible, the Republican platform conforms more closely with Biblical commands. That is why I voted for Trump. Personality is not the litmus test for me. That would be so short-sighted, IMO.
Despite the Republican party identified as Trump’s party, its Trump who lost not the Republicans. The election was his to win or lose — and he lost. The Republican party on the other hand won the election. They increased house seats and avoiding minority status in Senate (for now). Maine is a good example — Susan Collins easily kept her seat while Biden easily won the state. Trump’s obnoxious behavior, divisive attitude and narcissism lost him votes. And his current refusal to concede will have a detrimental effect on the country, party and even his family. It’s apparent Ivanka and Jared have ambitions and her father’s behavior is endangering this. And if he leaves with some grace, Ivank will be more successful than her father.
Trump (and the Republican party) made some errors. The resumption of mass rallies solidified the base and motivated them to the polls also made him appear careless with American lives. His refusal to encourage early voting and mail in voting was a mistake — you need to bank the vote to lessen the get out the vote operation on election day. And it helps if you encounter difficulties later. Pushing early voting prior to the first debate would have helped Trump.
The right wing populist vision to the Republican party is a good look for them — its highly motivating to the base — rural white working class but it narrows the ability to branch out to other demographics. Trump himself estranged himself from suburban women by his behavior — a demographic that has low party loyalty. The wink wink nudge nudge to white supremacist cost them social conservative Latino votes. Trump was lucky Cubans in Florida differ from other Hispanics — with out the Cuban vote he probably would have lost Florida.
There’s a large enough rural Hispanic working class vote in the southwest that could be convinced to vote Republican if they dropped the anti-migrant rhetoric (you can be against illegal migration without being racist) and stopped encouraging white militia groups. It will help them hold onto Texas and get Arizona back.
The Democrats won Arizona by winning 90% of the Navajo nation vote. They did this by simply registering the natives to vote. Reservations usually have a hard time to vote because they have no street address but vote rights groups worked with google maps to give each Navajo household GPS coordinates which were then used to gain a postal code. and thus they were able to vote. To solidify their vote Harris visited the reservation and pointed out that marginalized communities disproportionately suffered from Covid and the Demcorats would improve health care access.
Meanwhile in Georgia Stacey Abrams from 2018 on registered over 800 000 new voters. Republicans probably wished she won the governor’s race. Right now she’s back in Atlanta registering even more voters. The left side of the internet is already trying to reach every eligible 18 year old in Atlanta to register –18 as of Jan 5.
The Republicans can easily win the presidency back but they need to reward their base and prove they are a real populist party. The most successful right wing populist parties in the West are in Hungary and Poland. They win by being extremely anti-socialist, nationalistic, and socially conservative. However, they also spend money on health care and families. The Polish government gives huge subsidies to Polish famlies — not tax credits but a cheque/cash deposit every month. And they provide excellent pre and post natal care while banning abortion outright. Imagine a right wing party rewarding families and protecting children — its a natural fit for an American party claiming to represent the rural white working class and family values (and it will give them the Hispanic vote) The US maternal death rate of 19 per 100,000 live births is way too high for a developed country — Poland is the lowest in world at 2 and Canada is also too high at 10; Nordic countries area at 2-4. Infant mortality rates are also too high — 6.5 per 1000, Canada is at 4.9, Poland is at 4.4, and the Nordic countries are at 2-4.
Television has always called an election before the vote is certified and fully counted. It makes for great television and motivates viewers to turn in on election night — great for ratings. No one will watch if they don’t make a call. The losing side always criticizes the practice but when they win they have no problem with the practice. And its usually not too hard to predict the winner. In 2008, 12, and 16; I went to bed before midnight confident on who won. This year I wasn’t a 100% confident but it became fairly obvious the next morning. Anyone with some political knowledge can make the same call. I knew Trump won Florida by 9 pm and before the networks called it. And my prediction was around 290 to 310 electoral votes for Biden ever since May. And I was right. That’s why most of the conspiracy stories are just that stories. To be honest, in 2016 I would have predicted a very narrow Clinton victory (270 to 280) but I was far less certain than I was this year.

Concerning election fraud: the stakes are incredibly high; cheating on the grand scale seems to be accepted as long as people don’t get caught; our voter ID requirements offer many loopholes; and, foreign players have a huge financial stake in who wins this election. Those reasons and more lead me to a logical outcome of fraud being at play in this election.
As I mentioned before, I did an article some time back about cheating which used these examples: Atlanta city schools in which some teachers and principals changed student’s test scores because their staff/faculty raises were tied to increasing test scores; the college entrance scandal where parents could payoff people to fabricate their child’s application to get them into elite schools; the Georgia State Patrol class of new hires who collectively cheated on their exam and all got fired; and, the Houston Astros who had the cheating going on for interception of communication between players and their coach before a play was made.
Seeing the prevalence of cheating in our USA, I personally conclude that fraud is likely. To accept the results from the media is on the edge of stupidity when we have the ability to recount before certification.
None of my article examples involved the political sphere. It was not because it is magically a pristine area, but because politics has been considered dirty for years. Why write about something people already take for granted?
I seriously doubt that the never Trumpers at the Dispatch are in a position to fact check much of anything surrounding election fraud claims. That’s the job of the pcourts, and not all the facts have beem presented yet…at least that’s my understanding. Many of us are just prayerfully awaiting the recounts and court results.

My husband works at a beverage distributor. Some years ago he was commanded to fudge the dates on expired product so the company could deceptively resell instead of dump it. Needless to say, he told them in no uncertain terms he would not be doing that.
If a small town employer of less than 50 people issues a directive like that to its employees (and I’m sure it’s not the only company that has), can you imagine the temptation it is for all the corrupt Trump-haters in places of authority across this country to fudge the numbers (alter postmarks, add/subtract/switch votes, etc.) to achieve the election results they want?
Human nature wants what it wants, and (especially in this microwave society of ours where we expect instant results) it wants it now. Four.more.years. of Trump is so intolerable to the haters (and by haters I don’t mean people who didn’t vote for him — I didn’t either — I mean those who want to MAKE SURE, by any means possible, that he doesn’t get a second term), that it’s not hard to understand that vote fraud will not only be present, it will be rampant in an election where the sitting president is so deeply despised in many places.
Sidney Powell’s and others’ willingness to dig deeper and uncover the extent of the fraud is a good antidote against burying one’s head in the sand about human nature and the lengths to which those with evil intent will go to achieve their ends.
May I respectfully suggest that those who would dismiss the articles from The Dispatch read them anyway to see what it is they are claiming? I am not going to argue one way or the other, but I figure it is always good to at least consider another perspective.
Something to also consider is that pro-Trump sites may be just as eager to fudge facts as some think that the Never-Trump sites are doing.
To cheat is fairly common but normally its a one off when the opportunity presents itself. Tax returns, college application, resumes etc are fairly common instances of cheating but to cheat your way to presidential victory is too monumental to pull off. In this case, the Biden campaign would have to cheat by at least tens of thousands of votes in at least three or four states. Each of these states have their own regulations, voting mechanisms, registration rules, etc. Its a near impossibility to successfully pull it off. The win in Arizona was solely due to the Navajo nation registration. The win in Georgia was a bit of a surprise but exactly matched the polls and is due to Stacey Abrams registration efforts.
This leaves Michigan and Penn as the prime suspects for cheating. Biden won Michigan by over 150, 000 votes or 3%. He under performed the polls by about 2%. This was an expected win unless you think all pollsters were in on the cheat. Claims of poll watchers barred from the vote count were shot down when Trump lawyers admitted there was a non zero number of a poll watchers in the room.
This leaves Penn. The first thing to recognize is the fact Biden doesn’t need Penn to win. Prior to the election Biden was about 2-3% ahead in the RCP average and the final count was a 1% victory. The polls were slightly off but again this victory too was predictable. The main contention of the Trump campaign here is the mail in ballots are somewhat invalid. Trump needs to prove 70 000 Democratic ballots were invalid — not possible.
And further to the idea of cheating, if the Democrats, notoriously inept as an organization, were going to cheat why not cheat in the Maine senate election. Nobody would have blinked if Collins lost –after all Biden won Maine; yet she still won. And a victory in North Carolina both presidential and in the senate would be far more expected than a win in Georgia. And if you are going to win Georgia why not grab the Senate while you are it. Simply put, the idea of Democratic conspiracy defies logic.
To think the Democrats cheated you need to believe the polls were all wrong, the Democrats decided not to cheat in Senate elections, and 70 000 mail in votes were manufactured in thin air. Since mail in ballots are counted and examined by hand, you also can’t blame the voting machines.
Cheating at elections occurs long before ballots are counted or cast. Prior to elections, you purge voting rolls, you direct antiquated machines to your opponents districts, you misdirect certain voters, etc etc. Counting the votes isn’t important when you decide who votes and the republicans have always been good at this.
However this time they were out organized in Georgia and Arizona. And Biden focused heavily on the rust belt making sure they got out the vote and his message/face was out there. Trump’s ego was a problem — relying too heavily on rallies and motivating the base and less on nuts and bolts of a campaign. Trump correctly recognized mail in balloting as a threat to both him and the Republican party but his response to discredit it was the wrong one and the one with the least chance of success. He and the Republican party should have worked hard to secure mail in ballots — bank the vote ahead of time before poor debate performances and/or an October surprises lower his chances. Biden used in mail in ballots to bank votes and lower the work on election day.
All is not lost for him or the Republican party — “Stop the Steal” gives him one last con on the way out of the White House and his claims of theft will help the Republicans limit the access to the vote; necessary if they are to keep winning. The Republicans need to keep the urban areas from voting and any chance to limit access is helpful.

For what it’s worth (probably not much), I don’t much care what Hannity has to say about it either. We already knpw there is fraud, we just need to know if the courts are going to do anything about it, and whether or not it is sufficient to change the election outcome. Never Trumpers are not helpful in this endeavor, and it is my opinion from the numerous articles I’ve read from The Dispatch, that they are too eager to find fault with the President. David French so despises him that he considered running for president in 2016 for the purpose of preventing Trump from winning. Not spmeone I trust to be objective. Pray and wait on the Lord. :–)

The Orange Man Bad crowd won’t want to acknowledge President Trump if the vaccine rolls out successfully during his administration, but you can be sure that they’ll ascribe the lion’s share — I’m being charitable; I should probably say ALL — of the blame to him for any bad side effects or vaccine injuries that may result.

Just saw an interview about that vaccine, a doctor said it’s a painful shot (and 2 are needed) that hurts going in and appears to make folks feel pretty “crummy” and feverish for a day or two. So getting people to return for a 2nd dose may be a challenge in some cases.
Maybe they’ll figure out a way to turn it into a sugar cube instead.

On Michelle Malkin’s Election update, she connects with Joe Oltmann, who, while seeking to uncover Antifa within the journalistic community, infiltrated an Antifa call in late September in which he first heard about Eric Coomer (a name you are going to hear a lot about in the coming weeks). Coomer is an executive at Dominion Voting Systems (which also partners with the Clinton Foundation). On the call, Coomer reassured other Leftists that Pres. Trump could not win because he “made sure of it.” As he was investigated further, it was found that he is rabidly anti-Trump and emphatically pro-Antifa. Not only was he rooting for Pres. Trump to lose, but he also wanted it to be by a huge margin so that there would be “no recounts.”
Now that the cat is out of the bag re. the election, Coomer has been very busy seeking to scrub the Internet…

We have a lot of swamp territory in Georgia.
It’s fascinating that Dr. Cynthia McKinney who was our Representative and on the far left is now beating the drum against voting machine fraud. I was a poll worker when we first used electronic voting machines. They were from Diebold (sp?) which had Republican connections. Now she thinks she lost her seat because of those machines flipping votes in that election. But all of us Republicans voted in the Democratic primary to get her out. At that time she was so caustic. She was the one who assaulted a capitol police officer for not recognizing her and giving her entry to the building because she had changed her hairstyle. She went to CA and ran for President under the Green Party. I found out last night that while in CA she furthered her education and now teaches in Bangladesh. She is all for Trump digging out the swamp of which she was once a big part. She has some fascinating things on her Facebook page.

Now we are the “coalition of the ascendant,” elite Republicans crow, breathing a sigh of relief in the hope that maybe people won’t call us racist anymore. “That new coalition will be central to continued Republican success in the state,” Matt Dixon and Gary Fineout wrote in Politico regarding Florida, where Trump’s success with Latinos has been an occasion for a ticker-tape parade. White men, after all, are going extinct.
But those dying white men punched Trump’s ticket to the White House and, ironically, are likely the most significant reason Trump won Florida. “Trump’s largest base of support was, again, with white voters, who helped him outperform his 2016 showing in 32 mostly rural, white counties across the state,” Dixon and Fineout noted. “That support squeezed an additional 153,000 votes out of areas of the state that already backed Trump by wide margins.” That Biden underperformed with Latinos sealed the deal in the Sunshine State.
As many examples as there are of Trump picking up nonwhites in the Rust Belt and Sun Belt, there is substantial counterevidence that these same groups of voters helped Biden in those critical areas.
All of this is not to say that the 2016 election was a complete failure. It showed that it is, in fact, possible to run and win on the issues both parties eschew, that there is a broad desire for economic populism, immigration restrictionism, foreign policy restraint, for law and order, and for a president who is strong rather than effete. Trump single-handedly brought about the beginning of a realignment capable of achieving lasting dominance, regardless of whether his administration effectively prosecuted the mandate of that realignment.
America’s white working class continues to wait for a champion, someone who will not take the political capital their votes buy and squander it on progressive projects and old dogma by another name. Trump’s moment could be the beginning of something far more significant than the man himself if we are willing to hammer it free of the dross so that the mandate does not become a mausoleum of hope and desire.”

As Janice points out; years ago Democrats blamed Diebold and now Republicans blame Dominion. Both were without direct evidence and as the Diebold conspiracy died a slow death on the internet so will Dominion. To suggest Dominion executives are pro anitfa makes these conspiracies as even more ridiculous. Corporations are more interested in profit and brand reputation — they won’t risk cheating for one group or other. The DHS has already states this was the most secure and fair election.
As for the other lawsuits, Trump lawyers have lost 16 — when you have to utter the phrase a “non zero number” you know you have nothing. Legal firms are dropping out and lawyers are far more circumspect in the court than in the press. For the most part, this refusal to lose with grace is more about one last grift or con — Trump and friends are fundraising for his legal fees — most of this money will eventually find its way to his PAC and from there it will be spent on his own companies.

I get the impression that there are those among us that prefer to see Trump lose than to be sure of the integrity of the vote. Saying something is so in hopes that wishful thinking will make it so never works. That is exactly what the media does by calling the vote before it has been certified. And those who were against Trump follow in lockstep with their believing in the media rather than in waiting to hear the final certified result. I continue to pray for God’s truth and will to be done. He has the final say as to who will be in the highest office of our nation. I accept His choice which has yet to be declared. He may have reasons I can not fathom to let Biden win. If so, so be it. God’s thoughts and ways are higher than ours. But from what we learn about God in the Bible, the Republican platform conforms more closely with Biblical commands. That is why I voted for Trump. Personality is not the litmus test for me. That would be so short-sighted, IMO.

Despite the Republican party identified as Trump’s party, its Trump who lost not the Republicans. The election was his to win or lose — and he lost. The Republican party on the other hand won the election. They increased house seats and avoiding minority status in Senate (for now). Maine is a good example — Susan Collins easily kept her seat while Biden easily won the state. Trump’s obnoxious behavior, divisive attitude and narcissism lost him votes. And his current refusal to concede will have a detrimental effect on the country, party and even his family. It’s apparent Ivanka and Jared have ambitions and her father’s behavior is endangering this. And if he leaves with some grace, Ivank will be more successful than her father.
Trump (and the Republican party) made some errors. The resumption of mass rallies solidified the base and motivated them to the polls also made him appear careless with American lives. His refusal to encourage early voting and mail in voting was a mistake — you need to bank the vote to lessen the get out the vote operation on election day. And it helps if you encounter difficulties later. Pushing early voting prior to the first debate would have helped Trump.
The right wing populist vision to the Republican party is a good look for them — its highly motivating to the base — rural white working class but it narrows the ability to branch out to other demographics. Trump himself estranged himself from suburban women by his behavior — a demographic that has low party loyalty. The wink wink nudge nudge to white supremacist cost them social conservative Latino votes. Trump was lucky Cubans in Florida differ from other Hispanics — with out the Cuban vote he probably would have lost Florida.
There’s a large enough rural Hispanic working class vote in the southwest that could be convinced to vote Republican if they dropped the anti-migrant rhetoric (you can be against illegal migration without being racist) and stopped encouraging white militia groups. It will help them hold onto Texas and get Arizona back.
The Democrats won Arizona by winning 90% of the Navajo nation vote. They did this by simply registering the natives to vote. Reservations usually have a hard time to vote because they have no street address but vote rights groups worked with google maps to give each Navajo household GPS coordinates which were then used to gain a postal code. and thus they were able to vote. To solidify their vote Harris visited the reservation and pointed out that marginalized communities disproportionately suffered from Covid and the Demcorats would improve health care access.
Meanwhile in Georgia Stacey Abrams from 2018 on registered over 800 000 new voters. Republicans probably wished she won the governor’s race. Right now she’s back in Atlanta registering even more voters. The left side of the internet is already trying to reach every eligible 18 year old in Atlanta to register –18 as of Jan 5.
The Republicans can easily win the presidency back but they need to reward their base and prove they are a real populist party. The most successful right wing populist parties in the West are in Hungary and Poland. They win by being extremely anti-socialist, nationalistic, and socially conservative. However, they also spend money on health care and families. The Polish government gives huge subsidies to Polish famlies — not tax credits but a cheque/cash deposit every month. And they provide excellent pre and post natal care while banning abortion outright. Imagine a right wing party rewarding families and protecting children — its a natural fit for an American party claiming to represent the rural white working class and family values (and it will give them the Hispanic vote) The US maternal death rate of 19 per 100,000 live births is way too high for a developed country — Poland is the lowest in world at 2 and Canada is also too high at 10; Nordic countries area at 2-4. Infant mortality rates are also too high — 6.5 per 1000, Canada is at 4.9, Poland is at 4.4, and the Nordic countries are at 2-4.

Television has always called an election before the vote is certified and fully counted. It makes for great television and motivates viewers to turn in on election night — great for ratings. No one will watch if they don’t make a call. The losing side always criticizes the practice but when they win they have no problem with the practice. And its usually not too hard to predict the winner. In 2008, 12, and 16; I went to bed before midnight confident on who won. This year I wasn’t a 100% confident but it became fairly obvious the next morning. Anyone with some political knowledge can make the same call. I knew Trump won Florida by 9 pm and before the networks called it. And my prediction was around 290 to 310 electoral votes for Biden ever since May. And I was right. That’s why most of the conspiracy stories are just that stories. To be honest, in 2016 I would have predicted a very narrow Clinton victory (270 to 280) but I was far less certain than I was this year.

Concerning election fraud: the stakes are incredibly high; cheating on the grand scale seems to be accepted as long as people don’t get caught; our voter ID requirements offer many loopholes; and, foreign players have a huge financial stake in who wins this election. Those reasons and more lead me to a logical outcome of fraud being at play in this election.
As I mentioned before, I did an article some time back about cheating which used these examples: Atlanta city schools in which some teachers and principals changed student’s test scores because their staff/faculty raises were tied to increasing test scores; the college entrance scandal where parents could payoff people to fabricate their child’s application to get them into elite schools; the Georgia State Patrol class of new hires who collectively cheated on their exam and all got fired; and, the Houston Astros who had the cheating going on for interception of communication between players and their coach before a play was made.
Seeing the prevalence of cheating in our USA, I personally conclude that fraud is likely. To accept the results from the media is on the edge of stupidity when we have the ability to recount before certification.

I seriously doubt that the never Trumpers at the Dispatch are in a position to fact check much of anything surrounding election fraud claims. That’s the job of the pcourts, and not all the facts have beem presented yet…at least that’s my understanding. Many of us are just prayerfully awaiting the recounts and court results.

My husband works at a beverage distributor. Some years ago he was commanded to fudge the dates on expired product so the company could deceptively resell instead of dump it. Needless to say, he told them in no uncertain terms he would not be doing that.
If a small town employer of less than 50 people issues a directive like that to its employees (and I’m sure it’s not the only company that has), can you imagine the temptation it is for all the corrupt Trump-haters in places of authority across this country to fudge the numbers (alter postmarks, add/subtract/switch votes, etc.) to achieve the election results they want?
Human nature wants what it wants, and (especially in this microwave society of ours where we expect instant results) it wants it now. Four.more.years. of Trump is so intolerable to the haters (and by haters I don’t mean people who didn’t vote for him — I didn’t either — I mean those who want to MAKE SURE, by any means possible, that he doesn’t get a second term), that it’s not hard to understand that vote fraud will not only be present, it will be rampant in an election where the sitting president is so deeply despised in many places.
Sidney Powell’s and others’ willingness to dig deeper and uncover the extent of the fraud is a good antidote against burying one’s head in the sand about human nature and the lengths to which those with evil intent will go to achieve their ends.

May I respectfully suggest that those who would dismiss the articles from The Dispatch read them anyway to see what it is they are claiming? I am not going to argue one way or the other, but I figure it is always good to at least consider another perspective.
Something to also consider is that pro-Trump sites may be just as eager to fudge facts as some think that the Never-Trump sites are doing.

To cheat is fairly common but normally its a one off when the opportunity presents itself. Tax returns, college application, resumes etc are fairly common instances of cheating but to cheat your way to presidential victory is too monumental to pull off. In this case, the Biden campaign would have to cheat by at least tens of thousands of votes in at least three or four states. Each of these states have their own regulations, voting mechanisms, registration rules, etc. Its a near impossibility to successfully pull it off. The win in Arizona was solely due to the Navajo nation registration. The win in Georgia was a bit of a surprise but exactly matched the polls and is due to Stacey Abrams registration efforts.
This leaves Michigan and Penn as the prime suspects for cheating. Biden won Michigan by over 150, 000 votes or 3%. He under performed the polls by about 2%. This was an expected win unless you think all pollsters were in on the cheat. Claims of poll watchers barred from the vote count were shot down when Trump lawyers admitted there was a non zero number of a poll watchers in the room.
This leaves Penn. The first thing to recognize is the fact Biden doesn’t need Penn to win. Prior to the election Biden was about 2-3% ahead in the RCP average and the final count was a 1% victory. The polls were slightly off but again this victory too was predictable. The main contention of the Trump campaign here is the mail in ballots are somewhat invalid. Trump needs to prove 70 000 Democratic ballots were invalid — not possible.
And further to the idea of cheating, if the Democrats, notoriously inept as an organization, were going to cheat why not cheat in the Maine senate election. Nobody would have blinked if Collins lost –after all Biden won Maine; yet she still won. And a victory in North Carolina both presidential and in the senate would be far more expected than a win in Georgia. And if you are going to win Georgia why not grab the Senate while you are it. Simply put, the idea of Democratic conspiracy defies logic.
To think the Democrats cheated you need to believe the polls were all wrong, the Democrats decided not to cheat in Senate elections, and 70 000 mail in votes were manufactured in thin air. Since mail in ballots are counted and examined by hand, you also can’t blame the voting machines.

Cheating at elections occurs long before ballots are counted or cast. Prior to elections, you purge voting rolls, you direct antiquated machines to your opponents districts, you misdirect certain voters, etc etc. Counting the votes isn’t important when you decide who votes and the republicans have always been good at this.
However this time they were out organized in Georgia and Arizona. And Biden focused heavily on the rust belt making sure they got out the vote and his message/face was out there. Trump’s ego was a problem — relying too heavily on rallies and motivating the base and less on nuts and bolts of a campaign. Trump correctly recognized mail in balloting as a threat to both him and the Republican party but his response to discredit it was the wrong one and the one with the least chance of success. He and the Republican party should have worked hard to secure mail in ballots — bank the vote ahead of time before poor debate performances and/or an October surprises lower his chances. Biden used in mail in ballots to bank votes and lower the work on election day.
All is not lost for him or the Republican party — “Stop the Steal” gives him one last con on the way out of the White House and his claims of theft will help the Republicans limit the access to the vote; necessary if they are to keep winning. The Republicans need to keep the urban areas from voting and any chance to limit access is helpful.

For what it’s worth (probably not much), I don’t much care what Hannity has to say about it either. We already knpw there is fraud, we just need to know if the courts are going to do anything about it, and whether or not it is sufficient to change the election outcome. Never Trumpers are not helpful in this endeavor, and it is my opinion from the numerous articles I’ve read from The Dispatch, that they are too eager to find fault with the President. David French so despises him that he considered running for president in 2016 for the purpose of preventing Trump from winning. Not spmeone I trust to be objective. Pray and wait on the Lord. :–)
