  1. Our electricity was off for almost exactly 34 hrs Thursday & yesterday. The
rave ” portion is that it didn’t start getting cold until the afternoon. Since we had no power, we went to bed just as sunset. I was wakened by every light in the house coming on.
And the heat. It worked out well

  2. 🙂 I’ve had two nights in a row of getting to bed at a reasonable hour and getting a good night of sleep!!

🙂 An extra hour tonight will come in handy.

😦 For the next three or four months, it will be dark super early.

🙂 I’ve now made it through ten months of taking at least one photo (usually several hundred, actually) every single day, and have a lovely collection as a result. This week I made it to six months straight of those photos being outside, and nearly all of the days I got at least one shot with a creature in it.

🙂 Though I don’t like cold weather, this morning we had a frost, and so I drove down to the park that had a good selection of wildflowers this summer, and saw some exquisite beauty as the sun would shine on a particular frosted leaf or flower cluster. I was reminded that one way we’re made in the image of God is that we are creative, but human-made beauty just doesn’t come to the same level, nor can a camera capture the loveliest beauty. This morning, for instance, some of the frost was sparkling like glitter as the sun hit it, and that’s something you really just have to see in person. And it’s so fleeting.

  3. I don’t know if this is a rant or a rave. I’m just back from provisioning, er, grocery shopping, where I spent more money than I ever have before. We’d better be good until Thanksgiving–other than produce and dairy.

It was curious to walk through the store. After 2+ weeks of fasting, nothing appealed to me.

I’ve been fasting twice a week since September, moving into an ovoid-vegan fast since mid-October. A group I’m with called for the fast in September, and many moved into a water-only fast until election night.

I couldn’t do water-only, so I went to this extreme. I don’t know how vegans survive. This is awful. But, it may have broken some semi-food addictions. Time will tell.

The point of the fast, however, was for our nation that the election results will come peacefully and Satan’s hand would be thwarted. We’re not praying for a specific candidate, just for peace and unity in our land.

I was on a prayer call with folks from Australia the other day–the rest of the world is concerned.

I know you’re all praying, too, but let’s pray that whatever happens, God will be glorified and Jesus’ peace will reign.

I bought mini peanut butter cups for potential tricker or treaters. We’ll “hand them out” them with a long stirring spoon while wearing a mask. 🙂

🙂 The election will finally be over in a few days. We hope. Unless the results and this year’s rather chaotic early voting non-protocol protocols simply leave us with more confusion and uncertainty and anger.

😦 Why does FoxNews insist on running Trump’s rallies, beginning to end, with no breaks? Who can sit through something like that? So, with apologies to AJ, I hope he doesn’t lose (I think!?) but the man just needed to get a grip on his verbosity at some point. I think I could live with Biden so long as Harris never took over as president and the Senate remained solidly in Republican hands, though I doubt that will be the outcome, it’ll be all or nothing. But in the meantime, it would help if Fox could just use some clips from “rallies” and skip the beginning-to-end endless events. OK, that really was a rant. I guess it all will help make it easier to turn TV news off this weekend. lol

🙂 The holidays are almost upon us. But what in the world will they look like? I’m beginning to feel worn down by the pandemic and cancelation of so many get-togethers and activities that normally mark this time of year.

😦 Covid cases are on the rise yet again, this could be an especially closed-in and closed-off winter. Mask wars continue and I can hardly stand FB anymore, one local in particular just cannot stop posting about how awful Trump is. Enough. Stop. Please. Get over it.

😦 There seems to be some hoarding going on again (michelle, you’re absolved since you haven’t shopped in a while). But I’m reading again about empty shelves, probably a combination of worrying about covid along with the election aftermath.

    😦 Where’s that vaccine?

  5. Ok in all faireness. now they’re running a Biden event, unedited.

it’s all painful. Off with the TV! I generally like to keep up on the last-minute national election news in the days leading up to the election, but I can live without it this year I think

  7. Donna, they don’t have to pay for the talent when they JIP a speech.
“And there’s no more current news at the moment than a presidents speech.

Does it not bother you a bit that the Biden family. All of them. Are crooks. They have been selling their positions to China and others for years now.

You don’t have to like Trump. But he is (so far as I know, and if there were something, you know the Mainstream would be full of it.) is an honest man.
Doing what he thinks is best for the country.
    I agree.f

  9. Chas, actually the mainstream media is absolutely full of assertions that Trump is a pathological liar. I don’t follow politics enough to check up on such accusations, but they are definitely out there.

  10. Chas, I don’t keep up with politics. Whether he has actually lied, I don’t know. I’ve seen a few instances that surely look like lying (like greatly inflating the numbers of people at his inauguration and at some rallies in 2016). I’m really just pointing out that the media has definitely accused him of lying, and of doing so habitually.

  11. Yes, Chas. No doubt it is not a lie that Trump killed over 200,000 people with Covid. Nor does Biden’s name calling get called out, btw. Etc.
