Prayer Requests 6-23-20

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 120

A song of ascents.

I call on the Lord in my distress,
    and he answers me.
Save me, Lord,
    from lying lips
    and from deceitful tongues.

What will he do to you,
    and what more besides,
    you deceitful tongue?
He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows,
with burning coals of the broom bush.

Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek,
that I live among the tents of Kedar!
Too long have I lived
    among those who hate peace.
I am for peace;
but when I speak, they are for war.

  1. Sixth Arrow’s celiac test came back negative. The other blood work they did at her appointment last week was all in the normal range, too.

The nurse practitioner she saw last week has referred her to a pediatric gastroenterologist to further explore what may be causing her digestive problems and weight loss.

Hubby doesn’t want to go that route — yet, anyway. He wants us to try more dietary experimentation with her first, which we’ve been doing for the last month or so.

He thinks her problems may simply be stress-related. The state lockdown and Karen’s cancer battle were both difficult for 6th.

Please pray for wisdom for us. Thank you.

  2. Prayers for Carol, they came yesterday and drew 2 vials of blood that she said were marked “STAT” but said she has no idea what they may be looking for (and she didn’t ask, of course). She may get to see the visiting doctor today.

  3. I think they’re always checking for diabetes and she’s mentioned an unusual big thirst in recent weeks that doesn’t seem to go away, I’d told her to mention that to them and she said she did.

I have a feeling a change in type of residents may be coming for her, a place where she can get more intensive care. I think she now needs more than what that facility can easily or normally provide.

  4. Please pray for my son and D-I-love. They are having twins in January! We are so excited but praying that all will go well with the pregnancy and for safe arrival of these two precious little ones.

  5. Please pray for Wesley who has an interview for an adjunct position tomorrow. It seems likely he will get it, but not positive until he goes through the formalities. Then he will need to line up more classes to teach.

Also, prayer for my friend, Karen, is appreciated as she struggles through life in her state of brokenness, healthwise and spiritually. She always thanks me for hanging in there with her, but it is increasingly difficult. And she carries a lot of anger about politics. So much turmoil in her mind that I can do nothing about but pray.

  6. Please pray for Nightingale’s heart to be softened towards X’s parents. Her anger at him and contempt for him overflows into anger at them, too. (Not that she expresses it in front of Boy, but something came up today between the two of us that alerted me to how hard her heart is towards them.)

Really, she needs a softened heart in general, especially towards God. Thank you for your prayers for her (and for Chickadee and Boy).
